Have you tried REMOVING the slide and replacing it with a new version? Right click - REMOVE - and then add a new blank slide and new text object. DG
-
Go to the offending slide in Slide View and Double Cick to bring up the O&A screen. In Properties click on the drop down next to PICTURE and make sure that the correct file is listed there. If the offending image is an OBJECT rather than the Main Image then you should look for it in the Objects list and delete it there. If that fails look at the error message - it will tell you the name of the file it is looking for and where it is looking for it. Put the original image (or another file named identically) where it is looking for it and replay the show - that will show you where you originally had it and allow you to do something about it. DG

To me, this tends to suggest that it is the Samsung File which is the problem. Which is why I suggested that Igor take a look at it. I can produce a LARGE H.264 MPEG4 video (1920x1080) from a PTE show. When I try to insert that into a PTE Project I immediately get a message that it needs to be converted. If I ignore the message I get a show which stutters a little but is in sync with its sound. If I convert it all is well and still in sync. You are doing virtually the same thing with a file out of your Samsung but it does not work. I originally had the same problem with MUCH smaller MOV files out of a Nikon L2 compact camera - sound out of sync. I sent the file to Igor who managed to cure the problem in the next Beta. DG P.S. The Video Converter has to be made to work with all Video Clips otherwise there is no point in having the facility within PTE to insert Video Clips. Using a third party converter is definitely NOT the way forward.

colin while you are testing do as i said above? by smaller i meant shorter but still hd. small file size. send igor the link and explanation. if u use the hd file in pte what happens? dg

if you can reproduce the problem with a very much smaller video clip, upload it to mediafire and send the link to igor in a pm with a full explanation. give all details of camera etc. is it a new model? dg

Here's the updated PDF. I've made no attempt to describe the inner workings of the Converter - that's outside of the remit of this PDF. Thanks to Lin for the reminder that the "Trimming Utility" is built also into the Video Converter. DG

not yet ken. dg 07:00

thanks lin. you just did it. it occured to me that anyone with some files needing conversion might post them so that others might use them for practice? dg

use png for this. if using photoshop use save for the web to include the transparency. all files should be in one folder per project. dg

Simply create and specify a different folder when asked for the folder name during the installation. However Gayland, 702 is a FULL version and not a Beta. I allowed the overwrite because 702 is an improvement over 701. If things didn't work out I could delete 702 and re-install 701. All Beta versions install in different folders (I think). I've got a bunch of them that I need to delete. I have kept 4.49, 5.6, 6.5 and 7 in different folders. DG

I think that it is relevant to the discussion here. I think that having seperate forums for each language might be a problem for Igor. If someone who is German speaking were prepared to take on the responsibility of acting as the go-between (moderator) for any conversations with Igor (in Russian or English) then a German section might be possible. The same then applies to French, Spanish, etc. DG

Xaver, Are you telling us that M.Objects , Aquasoft or Magix have multilingual Forums? DG

Your project will be resized down to 720x405 to make the DVD and when played on the HD TV the 720x405 show will be interpolated up to 1920x1080 (on the TV). You will (I think) lose around 10% of the images due to TV safe zone. If your TV has a USB Socket and a Media Player you would get a MUCH better result by making a 1920x1080 MPEG4 and playing that via a USB Memory Key. DG

John, Can you explain in a little more detail? Does he mean the Navigation Bar? There is an Auto Hide Option in the Customize Nav Bar window - should default to 3 seconds. DG
-
Thanks Igor, I confirm that the minimum transition time that it is possible to set by DRAGGING in the timeline is now 0.1 seconds. Shorter times must be set via CUSTOMIZE SLIDE. DG

Video Clips: Adding Video to a Project

Thank you, Robert. DG -
you should also consider that a 3:2 show on an hd tv COULD be distorted in some cases. short fat people. dg

Mary, Presumably, you have a 1080 or 1200 High Monitor? Make your show either 1620x1080 or 1800x1200 (3:2) and you'll have the best of both worlds. You mentioned 1024x768 - if your monitor is that size make your show 1024x682 (3:2'ish). Whichever you choose you can go for maximum quality in the EXE before letting PTE reduce everything to the lowest common denominator by making a DVD of it. Consider this: If you know that it is going to someone with a (newish) HDTV try making a 1620x1080 H264 MPEG4 and offering that on a memory key. Maximum quality. DG
