  1. thanks lin. you just did it. it occured to me that anyone with some files needing conversion might post them so that others might use them for practice? dg
  2. PDF added. DG
  3. This tutorial has been replaced by articles in the Online Help: http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/video/addvid DG
  4. use png for this. if using photoshop use save for the web to include the transparency. all files should be in one folder per project. dg
  5. Simply create and specify a different folder when asked for the folder name during the installation. However Gayland, 702 is a FULL version and not a Beta. I allowed the overwrite because 702 is an improvement over 701. If things didn't work out I could delete 702 and re-install 701. All Beta versions install in different folders (I think). I've got a bunch of them that I need to delete. I have kept 4.49, 5.6, 6.5 and 7 in different folders. DG
  6. ken, i think that he might have thought that you were shouting at him? dg
  7. Jean-Cyprien, Xaver, What you ask is not unreasonable. DG
  8. I think that it is relevant to the discussion here. I think that having seperate forums for each language might be a problem for Igor. If someone who is German speaking were prepared to take on the responsibility of acting as the go-between (moderator) for any conversations with Igor (in Russian or English) then a German section might be possible. The same then applies to French, Spanish, etc. DG
  9. Xaver, Are you telling us that M.Objects , Aquasoft or Magix have multilingual Forums? DG
  10. Your project will be resized down to 720x405 to make the DVD and when played on the HD TV the 720x405 show will be interpolated up to 1920x1080 (on the TV). You will (I think) lose around 10% of the images due to TV safe zone. If your TV has a USB Socket and a Media Player you would get a MUCH better result by making a 1920x1080 MPEG4 and playing that via a USB Memory Key. DG
  11. John, Can you explain in a little more detail? Does he mean the Navigation Bar? There is an Auto Hide Option in the Customize Nav Bar window - should default to 3 seconds. DG
  12. Thanks Igor, I confirm that the minimum transition time that it is possible to set by DRAGGING in the timeline is now 0.1 seconds. Shorter times must be set via CUSTOMIZE SLIDE. DG
  13. Thank you, Robert. DG
  14. you should also consider that a 3:2 show on an hd tv COULD be distorted in some cases. short fat people. dg
  15. Mary, Presumably, you have a 1080 or 1200 High Monitor? Make your show either 1620x1080 or 1800x1200 (3:2) and you'll have the best of both worlds. You mentioned 1024x768 - if your monitor is that size make your show 1024x682 (3:2'ish). Whichever you choose you can go for maximum quality in the EXE before letting PTE reduce everything to the lowest common denominator by making a DVD of it. Consider this: If you know that it is going to someone with a (newish) HDTV try making a 1620x1080 H264 MPEG4 and offering that on a memory key. Maximum quality. DG
  16. Whatever project size you use, if you make a standard DVD it is going to be interpolated down to 720x576 (PAL) to make the DVD. You need to set TV Safe zone (% of slide to show main images) to about 90% in Project Options > More and click Set For Existing Slides. You also need to UNTICK "Fixed Size of Slide" in Project Options > Screen. DG
  17. Adding Video Clips to a Project with “Keep Full Slide Duration” Un-Ticked Video Clips can be added to the project in two ways: Right click on a single Video Clip or a group of video clips and “Add Selected Files to Project” Drag and drop video clips into the Slide View In Project Options you will have set your Default Slide Duration to, for instance, 10 seconds and your transition time to, for instance, 2 seconds. When a video clip is added to the Slide View the Slide Duration Time is overridden, its transition time is set to 2 seconds and the length of the video clip automatically becomes the Slide Duration. If multiple Video Clips are added to the Slide View then the Slide Duration for each video clip is the video time. In the case of two consecutive Video Clips the first will finish and its last frame will remain on screen during the next slides transition time. Let’s say that 6 videos are added by dragging and dropping and that the video clips are each of 10 seconds duration. The overall show time will be the total duration of the six videos (60 seconds). In some cases it might be required to delay the start of a video clip until after its transition has elapsed. This can be done by entering O&A>Properties and adjusting the OFFSET of the Video Clip to be equal to the transition time. To prevent the video clip overlapping with the next slide’s transition the offset time should be added to the Video Slide Duration. Example: Three Video Clips or a combination of Video Clips and Images: [2:10] [2:10] [2:10] – [Transition Time: Slide Duration] To make the video clip in slide 2 start after its transition time set offset for slide 2 to 2 seconds and add 2 seconds to its duration: [2:10] [2:12] [2:10] DG For more information please go to the Online Help and search on "Video" or "Slide Duration" or "Full Slide Duration" etc: http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/main
  18. I have always promoted PTE for presenting Digital Images in Competition. For personal use I find it ideal for presenting my work and one day I hope to be as good as some of the people here at the true Audio Visual, story telling aspect. DG
  19. I got it as well Colin. DG
  20. How far are you prepared to travel? DG
  21. I'm guessing that you are right but need to draw on the collective knowledge here in case there is something we have missed. Is there another element which would have an effect? What about VGA vs DVI vs HDMI..... etc DG
  22. Does a larger monitor put more "strain" on a graphics card than a smaller monitor (same resolution)? Does a larger resolution put more "strain" on a graphics card than a smaller resolution (same monitor size)? DG
  23. In addition you can add "delay" effects (multi-head tape echo) - the possibilities aren't exactly endless but I don't think that we have truly explored the depths of this useful utility yet! DG
  24. Just picking up on what Lin mentioned. I have added (as a trial) in excess of 100 tracks in the Project Options>Music section and could have added more. When you consider that you can go to Project Options, make or tweak an adjustment in any one of those 100 plus tracks, record a spoken commentary and/or comment, play it to check what you have done and have it update in your project immediately without leaving PTE you have a pretty powerfull tool with which to work. Renaming each of the tracks is possible to make each one easily identifiable. DG
  25. With respect Ken, Igor has already addressed this requirement and it is available to you. In O&A> Properties set OFFSET equal to transition time and add that to the video slide duration. Changes made in the O&A Properties and/or the "Trimming Utility" are not yet automatically reflected in the Slide Duration Time. I have asked Igor to consider this. However, good luck with your request. DG
