  1. "ExeRunner" will display and run by click any show (exe) found in the folder it is located, including subfolders. If you put it on the root of a CD it will show all shows (exe) files on the CD and you can run each of them by click on the file name. This way you can: 1) Have direct access to all your shows. 2) Autorun by click as many shows you want from a CD. Another new program is "Autorun Html Viewer", a unique web pages browser on and off line. And something for your children: "MyDiary" is a cute tool to give to your child who keeps a diary. Enjoy Granot
  2. "Order Me" - Free Utility Make order by click on slides The zip include an exe sample made with PTE and the project file with all files necessary so you can see what I did. Here is the "Readme" file included also in the zip: This sample will show you how customer can make a list of slides to order, just by clicking on the slide he likes. On first slide (this one) external file named "erase.exe" is called to clear a former order list, in case one was done. That means your first slide must be a "Welcome" slide, which usually is. This utility is design to work with projects which show slides by order without the ability to jump from one slide to another. The utility counts each time slide is changed so if you jump from slide 4 to slide 7, it will think you are on slide 5. In other words, if you make auto slide, the utility knows on which slide the user is if he decides to add the slide to order list. How it knows ? When each slide is run, a file called "count.exe" is called by using "Run external application". This file counts the slides and thus remembers on which slide you are. Adding a slide to order list can be done by a "Add to order List" button or by adding a transparent image over all the slide area, as I made in this sample. Notice that in this case everything under will be inactive. You don't have to put this on all slides. My transparent image is "800x600trans.gif". You can put instead your image in the size you like, depends on the size of your project, or put a button. Under this transparent image or button you "Run application or open file..." and for program name you use "order.exe". Each time user click on the transparent image (anywhere on the slide) or on the button (if you used a button), the utility, which remember on which slide we are, will add the number slide to the order list. On last slide you can add a button called "See order list" (as I did) which will open the order list. To do this you use "Run application or open file..." and for program name you use: C:\SlidesOrder.txt ...and for those who want to try my "QuickThumbs" - a Free Thumbnail maker program..., the new version of "Autorun.inf Maker" - Advanced Autorun.inf Maker - version 4 (with good help file to learn about Autorun options) and the updated versions of "Video Utility" - Add resizeable movie to your photo album slideshow (based on my "DrVideo"), "AutoCD" (for CD distribution) and "Image List" (also for making an order list from a slideshow). Another new utility which I didn't give information is "BGpaint". This Free utility was made for PTE members but can be used by anyone who needs to choose a background color for his pictures or the right size of images. The program works only with JPG and BMP files. Images at 800 x 600 will be displayed at 80% of their original size, bigger images will be displayed at 50% of their original size and smaller images will be displayed at their original size. After you browse and load your image move the colors sliders to change background color. You can copy color you like to your clipboard. If you need to choose betwee 2-3 colors, you can save three different colors and then reload them to compare and choose the one you like. Each time you reload a saved color, it is automatically copied to your clipboard which will show a line like this: Red: 255, Green: 166, Blue: 90 You can zoom in/out the image and the percentage of the orginal size will be displayed. You can hide/show all buttons of the program to leave only your image with the background. Please your comments Granot

  6. CD_Runner This Free utility was made for PTE members but can be used by anyone who makes and distribute exe presentations on CD. It can be used also on your hard drive, just put it in the folder where you keep all your presentations (Templates folder ?) and run it. How to use with CD: ============== Put "CD_Runner.exe" and "autorun.inf" in the root of your CD. When the CD will be inserted, "autorun.inf" will run "CD_Runner.exe" which will make a quick search in whole the CD including sub folders and all the applications (.exe files) will be displayed with their path on CD. Double-Click on any file and it will run. "CD_Runner.exe" will not be displayed with all other files. Tip: Give your exe files meaning names like: MyWedding.exe, Uncle_Tom.exe. Avoid spaces between words. Download program number 103 from My Webpage Please your comments.... Granot
  7. Hi Andrew, I'm not expert in this field but here is what I can contribute and hope it will help. There is a program called "CamStudio" with which you can capture whole screen to avi file. Then you can use a program named "AviEdit" to cut frames you don't want. I never tried it but those two programs are good to have anyway. Let us know if it works. Granot
  8. Hi all members, Today I celebrate my no. 100 free program - "Pixel Me". I know some wonder where I find the time. Well, here is my secret - I am unemployed for 4 years, so I spend my whole day with my PC, trying to keep my mind busy. I urge you to visit my web site and check those 100 free programs, which many of them you can use with your PTE presentations, or use beside it, while working on new projects. Since I am a bit lazy to write a full overview about each program, I will very appreciate any help in writing in this forum about any program or utility you find useful, so other members can read and use it too. If you have any idea for new utility which can help you, please let me know and I hope I can make it. I have just finished beta version of "BGpaint" with which you can load any jpg image and play with background colors to see which color is best to each image for your slide. you move colores by sliders and when you like the color, you click to copy RGB colors to clipboard. If someone want to test this beta version, let me know and I'll send it by email. And now to "Pixel Me": Remember the familiar Ruler we use to check measurements of images, spaces and positions on our screen (even I made one) ? With "Pixel Me" all you have to do is position your mouse anywhere you want and click "Space" on keyboard. The position of your mouse will be displayed in the small program window. Now move your mouse to a new position and click again on "Space", new position is displayed beside the first one, and the distance between two positions is displayed too (x and y). There is also a "Reset" button. If you do not "Reset", first mouse position is remembered and you can move your mouse for a new second position. If you "Reset", all positions are reset. If focus is on other window, click on program to bring focus back. Hope you like this one Thanks Granot
  9. DrVideo version 1.0 - Video Utility What is "Dr.Video" ? A video viewer which you can customized to be in any size you want. Furthermore, user can change the video size on run time by using his keyboard arrows ! There are two files in the zip which you will need to include in your CD in same place as your presentation, usually in the root of the CD: 1) "DrVideoPTE.exe" 2) "video.txt" There is a third file "autorun.inf" which you have to include only if you want the video to autorun when CD is inserted before your show. In "video.txt" you will write your configuration. When you open "video.txt" you will see 4 lines: orbit.avi 250 150 YourShow.exe On first line write the name of your movie file. It can be AVI or MPEG files. Examples: "orbit.mpeg" or "orbit.avi" On the second line write the width of your movie. On the third line write the height of your movie. On the forth line write the name of your show file. If you keep line four empty, no show will run, in case you run the video in the middle or at the end of your show. For "PicturesToExe" users This utility will let you add a movie anywhere in your show: 1) Before your show starts (using the included "autorun.inf"). 2) At any slide (using "Run external application on customized slide). 3) After show finish (using "Run application after last slide" in Project Options). Other uses ========= You can send a friend your video to view it in "DrVideo". Just put you movie, "DrVideoPTE.exe" and "video.txt" in one folder and zip it. See program No. 12 on my web page. This utility was made after making my original "DrVideo" video viewer. With this viewer you can see any MPEG, AVI movie from your HD and it can be resized on run time ! See program No. 98 on my web page. Another change I made is to combine my "Install Show" utility with my "Install Screen Saver" utility and with "Make Shortcut" utility. The new progrm is called "CD_Installer" (For CD distribution of PhotoAlbums, Presentations and Screen Savers). See program No. 94 on my web page. I hope you'll like my latest work and hope to see here your comments. Thanks Granot
  10. I have iron rule: if it works fine for you - don't change it ! I Never update !
  11. Bill, I don't know what happens on your side but "JPGViewer" close immediately on my win98 and nothing to do with internet. I even tried it while on line. Let's see how it works with other members. Maybe you had some other program working on background ? Uploaded new version with "Center Image". Thanks for your comment about the "center". Granot
  12. Hi all, To all who are interested in how to do lens effect, I made a sample for you to download. All the files used were included in the zip, among them the final exe, the pte project, extra project with slower speed which you can compile and the two images I used. It is very very easy to do, you can change the size of the lens image (by doing new one by yourself to fit the size of your original image) and play with speed by skipping more pixels (see the difference between the two projects). When you unzip, all files will be in one folder called "PTElenseffect". Run first the file "LensEffect2.exe". Don't be in a hurry to click the "Help" button, see the lens sample first. Download program No. 92 on My Webpage. Enjoy
  13. No, No, No ! Just joking. "JPG Viewer" is my latest project. Browse for folder and all jpg will slide show on your desktop. And if you wonder why I did it..... ...suppose you want to add an image, which name you forgot to your PTE project. You have to go to the folder, find the image (which name you forgot), then do the rest. That's a lot of work for somone lazy like me. With "JPG Viewer" you wait for the image to appear on your screen, click on it, and the full path is in your clipboard ready to paste into your PTE project ! Download from My Webpage program No. 78. 14. David, Yes, just run the "Screen Saver Installer" from the exe show using button or "run external file" or when show is finish. Just be sure you follow the instructions.
  15. This one was made for David (Icypeak). We have to remember that not all end users are used to computer and sometimes even copy a file is big task, so making it easy for your customers will only help. Here is the Readme file as promised: Show Installer This Free utility for PTE members will look for your Show (exe) on the Cd, then copy it to the folder user will choose on his Hard Drive, and run it from there. If your Show was already installed, it will only run it. The utility will close when you click the install button. How to use ========== Put your Show ("YourShow.exe") file (only one file !) in a folder called "Show". Then put this folder together with this utility ("InstallShow.exe") and add the "autorun.inf" which I included in the zip, all in the root of the CD. Notice: In the root of the CD you will have two files and one folder = "InstallShow.exe", "autorun.inf", and the folder called "Show". Inside this folder will be "YourShow.exe". When user will insert the CD, the "autorun.inf" will autorun "InstallShow.exe", then user will click on the install button and...finish. Another way to use this utility is to If you want to give your friends this utility, please give them the address below so they can download the newest version including the "Readme" file for instructions and the "autorun.inf". Download: Program No. 77 onMy Webpage Coming soon: "ShortcutApp" Install your show and make a shortcut on user's desktop with your icon and name you choose.
  16. Jim, Just write the new name on the long text box and click any "Name" button you like. I have win 98 too so there should be no problem, just tested it now and it works. Let me know.
  17. David and all members, "InstallShow" is ready and uploaded to my site. I will post tomorrow the full details about this utility. Similar to "Screen Saver Installer" even in the look. I had no time to test it so I leave it to you and if you find any bug....well... i did it quicky, sorry. Download: Program No. 77 on My Webpage.
  18. David, As far as I know when you make a screen saver with PTE you can't put buttons (unless the new version enable this...hummm). I think what you mean is to install an exe presentation. I think I have some utilities that make this. Anyway, I am going to use the same graphics of "Screen Saver Installer" to make "Show Installer". In that case you will be able to run it from any slide by "Run external file" action (or at end of show) and user will browse to find a folder where to install your show. This one should be ready tomorrow. You don't have to specify any path when you are using "Run external file". Your show and the external file are in same place (on the root of the CD) so all you have to do is write the name of the file (file.exe) and your show will run it from the CD. On the other hand, if you run your show on your computer and have a button that link to external file located in another folder, then you have to write the full path.
  19. Screen Saver Installer - Free. When user insert the CD with one screen saver on it, a small window will open and user can choose: 1) Intall to Hard Drive to screen savers folder and Run from Hard Drive. 2) Run from CD only. 3) Cancel - close and do nothing. There are also instructions for your users. The zip include "autorun.inf" to use with your CD and "readme" file. Please your comments. Download: Program No. 7 on My Webpage Enjoy Granot
  20. "EasyOpen" (new version) When you run the exe in the zip a very small icon will appear on top-left corner of your screen: Left-Click icon to open/close big window. Right-Click icon to open Menu. Click "Browse" and find your program. To change name, write it and click "Name". From the Menu on right-click you can open "PicturesToExe" and "IrfanView" (if you installed them on default folders). You can keep 30 PTE presentations direct access. You can keep other programs as well. Download from My Webpage program No. 76. Please your comments Granot
  21. Yes, I think let user choose is better, but I need to know where to in all operating systems. As for now I know only these: Win 95/98, - C:Windows\System Win XP - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 Win 2K - C:\WINNT\System32 Maybe in future versions. Yes, by using "Run external application" in a customized show or at end of show using "Run application and exit". I am still waiting for your help information as for screensavers folders in other operating systems. Thanks Granot
  22. Lenny, I see you got it right (it took me a long time to recall what I did when I sat on v.2.). The Readme instructions are there for few reasons. First, you can never delete them by mistake (as you delete it) and then forget how to configure, and second, since it is a free utility, other people can take it from your CD and use it for their CD. Thanks and enjoy it Granot
  23. Uploaded new version of "CDstartup" (free utility). Spelling mistake fixed, fewer files to configure, small graphic changes. Granot
  24. Since I remember other members also asked for this utility, I am trying to make it. But I need your help as to tell me the screen savers folder in other operating systems. I made a beta test which can install the screen saver in win95/8 and XP. Please check it and let me know. The utility will look for your screen saver on the Cd, then copy it to the screen savers folder (under original name) and run it from there. If your screen saver was already installed, it will only run it. The utility will close when you click the install button. In this test version there are two install buttons for each operating system but I hope to make the final version to run invisible with no need to click any button, just insert the Cd and everything will be done by itself. I have tested it on a Cd and it works. If you want to test it too, put your screen saver .scr file (only one file !) on the root of the CD together with this utility and add the "autorun.inf" which I included in the zip. Download here: InstallSS.zip Waiting for your help to finish this one. Thanks Granot New and better Version of "ScreenBaby" was uploaded to my site. Check this page: Screeny.html
