I only now found that pte files save as template don't give the full path to files but something like this: C:\PROGRA~1\PICTUR~1\TEMPLA~1\CHIANG~1.PT\aspara01bg.jpg I found it when making utility which retrieves the paths of all images used called "PTEpics" for members to get lists of files in each show. Maybe it's better if members will make: C:\Templates or C:\PTEtemplates instead of: C:\Program Files\PicturesToExe\Template\ShowFolder Is there a way to change the place of Template folder ? And if not, can you add this option ? Thanks Granot

I added some features to this utility. Now you can also open any image by your default program or with the Free IrfanView. For JPG you can use Quick View. (only if IrfanView was installed in default installation path). Important: Program must be in same folder as pte file (or pte file in the program folder). I found that if you make a template files are written on pte file like this: C:\PROGRA~1\PICTUR~1\TEMPLA~1\CHIANG~1.PT\aspara01bg.jpg So the utility will not work on those cases. Hve to ask Igor about it. Granot

Hi all, If you want to keep record of all pictures you used in your presentations, you will find this small Free tool very useful. Just click, browse for your pte project file, and a file called "pte.txt" will be created in the utility folder. The list will open automatic on screen. The list will give you full path of all files and files will be arranged in the same order as in your presentation. Notice that if you want to keep the list, change its name, or next time you run the program it will be replace by a new file. It is recommended to put the utility in Template folder so when you browse, this will be the default folder to open. Any suggestions to add more features are very welcomed. Hope you like it. Download only from my site. Program name: PTEpics Granot

Joy Just create a new folder as it was before and put there all your images. I assume it was C:\My Documents\My Pictures But if you changed some images names, you will have to make re-change.

New "Ini Maker" was uploaded to my site. You can take it from "MultiCD" page or from my main site.
-
fotografer, welcome. It depends how you made the link. I assume you used "Run application or open file" action under the button. If you wrote full path of the pdf file it should work. But you probably wrote only file name, so the program is looking for the file in the same folder where your compiled (exe) show is. If this is the case, just put your pdf file in the same folder of your exe. When you distribute your show you should include the pdf file too. and better not to write the full path. Granot

I'm working now on improving the "Ini Maker". You will be able to drag and drop your files to "Ini Maker" window (with no need to make a folder) and click to create the ini file. The files will appear on "MultiCD" window in the order you droped files. No real files are moved in this creation.

Ray, Humor is great thing, but sadness is greater. Without it we'll never know when we happy. As for making the dishes, do you have "Dish Washer Adapter" ? Guido, after practicing making 80 utilities I think it was about time to make this one. I hope to get suggestions from members how to improve it and what features to add (if I can).

"MultiCD" Thanks to Sam (cici) for his great help. The main features of this program are: 1. Unlimited presentations on CD. 2. User run them all from Hard Drive. 3. Can add any HTML,DOC, RTF, TXT to each show. 4. Can install up to 3 fonts files. "MultiCD" will enable users to see your presentations more accurate without the slowing effect of running your presentation direct from a CD. The program will temporarily install the presentation chosen by the user to C:\temp folder and will remove it when the user close the show. "MultiCD" is a Multi show runner. You can include unlimited numbers of presentations, under the limitation of your CD, and your "autorun.inf" file will open "MultiCD" window, which will display a long list of all your presentations names as you wrote them. User can choose any presentation he want to see by click on its name, click "Start", and the program will do the rest. But that's not all. You can attached an HTML page, RTF page, Doc page or a TXT file to each of your presentation where you can give information about the presentation. This information file will appear also on the presentation list and user can open and view it in same way as he opens a presentation. You can arrange the order of files appearing on the list, attach details files to presentations or put all details files at the end. "MultiCD" allows you also to add a "Startup Window" at the size of 250 x 150 where you can put your Logo image, which can include a Welcome note. In "MultiCD" you can also write your Caption for the program window, let user send you email or visit your web site by one click. "MultiCD" has advanced Font Installer. User can install up to 3 font files to his C:\Windows\Fonts folder in a second by click on the font icon. This way you can be sure user will see your text in the authentic fonts. If the fonts already exist on user's computer, a message will tell him that. User can always check which fonts were installed by click on yellow question mark which will appear under the font icon if fonts were installed. "MultiCD" is very easy to use, just writing in simple text files with Notepad as will described in the readme file. With "MultiCD" you will have your own custom AutoCD professional window. User can minimize "MultiCD" to system Tray and Explore CD. The program is fully functional although it's a Shareware. "Ini Maker" This is a Free utility for "MultiCD" users. The utility will create the "Data.ini" file to use with "MultiCD". You should make a new folder and put inside all files you need to appear on the window of "MultiCD". This include all your presentations and information files (like HTML, TXT or other). Then choose this folder and create your file in two clicks. The file will be created in the folder where you keep "Ini Maker". Very important: Put the files in the new folder one by one in the order you want them to appear on the List on "MultiCD" window. See Screen shot of "MultiCD": Screen Shot and Download "MultiCD" Page Download from my site only and don't forget to take "Ini Maker" too. Thanks Granot

Mike, Maybe you forgot to write what's needed on the "File.txt" file and include it too ? On the other hand, it can be XP problem, unless some members with XP will tell us they could make it work. I hope also you are using my last version where I fixed a bug. This one is to download only from my site. Let me know how it's going. Thanks Granot

Members who have some 350 x 170 nice images that can be used as backgrounds to my Scrolling "About" message Utility, are welcome to send me the images. I want to add bigger choice for those who use it. And if you missed the topic about it, it is a small window where you put your email and url and few words ("About") and all the text is scrolling up and user can click to visit your site or send you mail. You can add it as "Run application or open file" under "About" button object. Send images to:boxig@zahav.net.il Thanks Granot

Hi all, Being confused myself, I made a table which compare from 10 CD utilities for view or/and install presentations. Here is the page: http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com/Compare.html Please download newest versions from my site. Granot
-
Jim, I'm glad it works with XP. So it seems, as nobeefstu said, it can be problem in the autorun file. Let us know. Granot
-
Connie Why break your head ? - download the free "Autorun.inf Maker" and you will have your autorun file in seconds. You can make a simple or advanced autorun file. Be sure to use version 3.0. Look for program No. 9 in this page: Programs and Utilities The "Help" file has a long explanation about "What is autorun". All other members who have oldest version, download version 3.0, it is much more improved. Granot

Here is few lines about "Nero": Insert CD. Open the Wizard, copy CD, Data CD, Create new Data CD, Finish. Now you see two windows. The caption of the right window is "File browser". look here for your files and drag them to the left window. When finish go to "File" and choose "Write CD". The program will pop up a message when it finish. The rest after you answer the above questions. Good luck Granot

Silas, It all depend if you are big "complete ignoramus " or small "complete ignoramus". I can give you the whole instructions but tell me first what you know so I'll not fill you with things you already know. 1. Did you used Nero before ? 2. did you ever burned a CD ? 3. do you make it for backup to keep for yourself or give to others ? 4. do you want the show to start automatic when CD inserted ? 5. do you want to put one show or few on the CD ? 6. how much you will pay me (just joking). let me know all information and I'll tell you tomorrow (going to sleep now). Have pun with great "Pictures To Exe" Granot

Hi Jim, Thank you for all your checking, it really helps. So I made a new version of "TempCD" which will first change atributes of exe in C:\temp. Files copied from CD are usually "Readonly" files which sometimes can make problem in deleting. So now in the new version "Hidden" and "Readonly" files should be deleted too. Please check it now and let me know. If it will still not work, we will have to see if other members have same problem and find the cause. I use win98 too. The new version is only on my site: New Version of "TempCD" I also combined two utilities, "TempCD" with "SearchCD" (or actually added the "TempCD" function to "SearchCD"). You can find this improved beta version at the bottom of this page: http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com/SearcCD.html Thanks again, Granot

Hi Sam, Robert and all members, Thank you very much for your overview about these 5 CD utilities. You are right, and as Robert said, we have to see what is the best way to combine utilities. At general, I think small and "one purpose" utility is better since each member has different needs. But if we can find common needs, we can try and do it. To follow your suggestion I made a beta version of "SearchCD" with the main feature of "TempCD" - which means, after you install any presentation you can "Run from Hard Drive" and also "Uninstall". The first new button will open the browse and you can choose from those shows you have installed (or any other exe if you like) which one to run. A second option I added is to Uninstall presentation. This second new button will open the browse and you can choose from those shows you have installed (or any other exe if you like) which one to delete. I hope most members now knows that running the show from the HD is always better than from the CD. "TempCD" is a very useful utility in case you have one show only. It delete the show from HD after use, and it's all done without user knowing. In this new beta version of "SearchCD" the show remains on the users HD (unless he delete it) and member should tell user why is better to install and run from HD. So this is first step in combining utilities. I hope other members will give their suggestion and needs so I can improve all utilities. I uploaded this new version in a separate file and I will be waiting for your comments and last OK if it works as it should, and then I'll replace the old version with the new. I can't relay only on my tests since I have all files and have to be sure it works on other computers from a CD. When using the "Uninstall" button of the new version of "SearchCD" it will first change atributes of the exe selected since files copied from CD are usually "Readonly" files which sometimes can make problem in deleting. So now in the new version "Hidden" and "Readonly" files should be deleted too. You can find this improved beta version at the bottom of this page: http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com/SearcCD.html I also made a "Compare" page where you can compare between all nine CD utilities and choose the one that fits you most. Here: http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com/Compare.html Thanks Granot

Hi Abelston and welcome. First, I assume you have CD writer which is Hardware. Also you will need a software to go with it which will burn (copy your files) the CD. As for your "autorun.inf" file, which is the file that makes your presentation run automatically when the CD is inserted, you can use the Free "Autorun.inf Maker" program and you'll have "autorun.inf" file in seconds. As for "prevent viewers of CD presentation from saving images to there harddrive" - you can try some of the Free utilities that gives, each in its way, a certain level of security, but not 100%. You can find all programs and utilities for "PicturesToExe" at these two places: 1. beechbrook.com where you can find also members presentations and you can upload yours. 2. Programs, Utilities and PTE photo albums. Good Luck Granot

Haa.., Guido, ...you are never satisfied. Great Idea ! I am really happy to hear such good words from the Guru. As a metter of fact I just forgot to put the "stop" (old brain cells). DONE ! New version with "Stop" music was uploaded to my site. Thanks Guido. Granot

Bill, I uploaded a new version of "Search To List" . What's new: Bigger window. New button for Open saved HTM. Longer input box for wildcard search. Can play and stop WAV, MID, MP3 from List. (with program player not windows player. I found this last feature very useful if making sound files lists (which can contain mixed sound file types, by Drag and Drop). Minimize to Try option (big gray button). Copy any file from list to any folder you like !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granot

"WavMp3InfoConv" 874 kb in zip download from my site. Free program. Choose WAV or MP3, get full information about the file, play it, or convert WAV to MP3 and MP3 to WAV. also new version of "mp3wav" which will only play and convert (cute). Thanks Granot
-
Bill, I forgot to mention that you can search "Search To List" using wildcard: txt;*.exe;*.pte;* (I made the box big enough for 2 types only but next version I'll make it bigger). Also to look for part of file name: xxx;me*txt will look for all txt files with "me" in the name (xxx can be any unexisting extention). or: log;se*txt will look for all log files and all txt file with "se" in their names. If you write only one * and choose a folder it will make a list with all files in the folder. As for .FND files (the saved "find" results), you can make a list of al .fnd files and you have quick and easy access to all previous searches in the windows FIND. In the future I hope to add a string search. Granot

Hi Jim, Yes, most of my utilities are for PTE users but most can be used for othe things too. As you said, TempCD copy one exe file (pte show) but can work with any file which does not need other files to work with. Please let me know when you get your XP which of my utilities don't work on it. Thanks Granot

Thanks Guido, I'll be waiting.
