Good evening Ron, I have been reading your new tutorial about "Panning" and again it's clear and to the point. Very well done. A very good supplement of information for starters and new users of PicturesToExe. So far there are some downloads of the translation in Dutch of your tutorial "Scrolling Text" and one reaction off topic. I think a translation in Dutch is usefull for some people. But it's an extensive and intensive job to do in my spare time. So, if there were some reactions, hints, help, some "life", or whatever of the Dutch users that would be nice. Anyway I see what I can do in the weekend. Cor

This topic is about the adapted Dutch language file of PicturesToExe v5.00 beta #5. You can find it here. Nederlands.ini.txt You can copy the "nederlands.ini.txt" file to your "PicturesToExe 5" folder. Change the file name in "nederlands.ini" and Windows will ask you to replace the existing file. As you probably know you can keep the existing file if you rename it beforehand, e.g. "nederlands (old).ini" You can use the adapted "nederlands.ini" file for PicturesToExe v5.00 beta #5 also for PTE v4.48 although the text on the "Objects" button will be changed in "Objecten/Animatie" and will not fit the button. Everything of v4.48 is working naturally. The translation was made for the benefit of all the Dutch users of PTE. So far, every manipulation in the program is compared very securely to the Dutch text, menus and instructions. The grammar is checked, wrong typos corrected and the same words are consequently used to prevent confusion. A correct Dutch language for Belgium and The Netherlands is used. Indeed I hope Igor will further use it for future releases and remove the current one. Thank you for trying the translation. I hope more Dutch speaking members can participate in the discussion and come up with some useful ideas. If you have any comment you are welcome to post it in this topic. I made two files, a Word document (.doc) and a text file (.txt). The files contain only the translated text, but the lay-out of the text is kept. So you have to print out the excellent tutorial of Ron and keep the translated text aside. To Ron Many thanks for sending me the "Scrolling Text" tutorial. It is very well done. It is a good idea to take only one topic at a time and explain things in detail. As I played already a little bit on my own with the program, I followed now your instructions in the tutorial and found it very clear and easy to understand. I think that somebody who is new to the program will have a good help in practical use and will not be overwhelmed with to much technical details and will be open for more. I started with the translation in Dutch of the adapted .ini-file. Your tutorial helped me also to better understand the new features so I can make the correct translation of the keywords. Cor

Dear Igor, Working on the new translation of the Dutch "nederlands.ini" file, Purist, Marianne and myself noticed some slips. Maybe it is possible to correct these: In the menu "File", when you choose: Create Slideshow Create Slideshow As... Create Slideshow and Run... Create Screen Saver... The title of the opened window is always: "Create EXE file from current project with a new name". It is not possible to correct the title, the program always read the same hint text. Some English words always show up also when you change to an other language: Project Options - Advanced - Mouse buttons (selection): None, Exit, Next slide, Prev.slide, Help, Go to first, Pause. Project Options - Advanced - Customize Navigation Bar... - Available buttons: Help, Exit. Project Options - Advanced - Customize Navigation Bar... - Selected buttons: First slide, Next slide, Previous slide, Pause, Print. Project Options - Advanced - Customize Navigation Bar... - Position (selection): Left, Top, Right, Bottom, Center, Left-Top, Right-Top, Right-Bottom, Left-Bottom. Hello to all, About Customize Synchronisation, timeline: There is a button for "Delete Point" and one for "Delete Slide", in my oppinion the result of those two buttons is the same: delete the picture from the line. Or have I missed something? Greetings Cor

Dag Purist, dag Marianne, Wegens drukke beroepsbezigheden heb ik de recente ontwikkelingen van PTE niet op de voet kunnen volgen. Ik heb vandaag v4.40 beta #5a en de bijgewerkte vertaling geladen en uitgeprobeerd. Gefeliciteerd Purist met het prachtige vertaalwerk. Ik vind wel dat je naam hiervoor mag vermeld worden. Mijn bevindingen: In de tijdlijn selecteer je één willekeurig beeld en dit kan je vervangen door een ander beeld van de "lichtbak". Dus zou ik ook opteren voor de simpele omschrijving: "Afbeelding vervangen". Deze tekst krijg ik als een soort foutmelding bij het laden van muziek in "Projectopties-Achtergrondmuziekopties" van sommige recente muziek-cd's. Het geselecteerde nummer wordt dan ook niet ingeladen. Bij oudere muziek-cd's verschijnt de tekst niet en wordt het nummer normaal ingeladen. Ik vond nog een kleinigheid ter verbetering: [CustTrial] Label 6=Verval na: Vervallen na: Bedenking: In "Tijdlijn" staat een knop "Punt verwijderen" en een knop "Afb.verwijderen". Op het eerste gezicht lijkt het te gaan om verschillende functies of opdrachten maar m.i. is het resultaat van deze knoppen identiek. Wat denken jullie?

Aan Marianne en Purist, Bedankt allebei voor uw waardevolle verbeteringen en suggesties: Montage, presentatie werd vervangen door "diashow". Voorvertonen wordt "Voorbeeld" en geluidsobject is "Toon audio" geworden. Werd "<F1> knop deactiveren" Er werd een verzoek gericht aan Igor in de topic "Suggestions for the next version" om een en ander aan te passen. Hebben we veranderd in: We moeten hier wel consequent blijven denk ik. "via" is aangepast. Ik zou het bij God niet weten. Komt uit Engelse versie. Mogelijk is het een commerciële benaming voor een muis van Microsoft van enkele jaren geleden. De tekst is gewijzigd in "Bladeren met muiswiel". Wat vinden jullie? "(aanpassen aan het scherm)" is vervangen door "(altijd volledig scherm)" "Opschrift" is vervangen door "Venstertitel". Dit heb ik niet veranderd, aangezien het niet altijd een afbeelding is dat je als achtergrond kan gebruiken. Je kan ook een tekening, grafiek, collage, enz. als motief gebruiken. Is mijn redenering juist? Hebben jullie andere argumenten? Ik heb alle effecten nog eens goed bekeken en een aantal wijzigingen in de titel (omschrijving) aangebracht. Wat vinden jullie hiervan? Wat betreft de "Harde overgang (cut)", wil ik toch even argumenteren. Dit is wel degelijk een effect, namelijk een snelle wisseling (0 seconden) van een afbeelding naar een andere afbeelding. Het is zelfs een effect dat het meeste gebruikt wordt in films, diaporama's of diashows in het algemeen, samen met de overvloeiing met variabele duur. Zelfs zou ik willen stellen dat alle andere effecten bijna nutteloos zijn en een diashow of presentatie al heel snel "amateuristisch" overkomt wanneer ze te pas en te onpas worden gebruikt. Kijk maar naar een hedendaagse documentaire, film of show, de speciale effecten worden zeer spaarzaam gebruikt en meestal zie je "cuts" of overvloeiingen. Maar dit ter zijde, het woord "cut" wil ik best verwijderen, het is ten slotte een Engels woord. Maar wel een begrip bij diaporama- en filmmakers. Ik ben het hiermee volkomen eens. Ik denk trouwens ook, als wij er gezamelijk in slagen om een zeer goede vertaling te maken, er toch nog altijd kritiek mogelijk is uit de een of andere hoek. Maar het is hier en nu dat men moet reageren en niet later wanneer alles afgerond is. Daarom zou ik willen vragen als u dingen echt niet goed vindt, laat het a.u.b. weten, niemand zal het u kwalijk nemen, integendeel. Ik heb "Venster" vervangen door "Beeld" en "Beeld" vervangen door "Afbeelding". We kunnen ook "Slide" vertalen in "Dia" i.p.v. "Afbeelding" maar dan klopt het niet overal denk ik. Wat vinden jullie? Sorry, is mijn fout, heb mij hier vergist bij het veranderen. Heb inmiddels alle oude bewerkte nederlands.ini bestanden gewist om fouten te vermijden. Ik heb alle wijzigingen en verbeteringen nogmaals nagekeken en alles zou nu moeten kloppen. Ook uw laatste correcties zijn aangebracht. De post van Oct 27 2004, 11:52 PM met het volledige bestand werd vervangen en is dus inclusief alle verbeteringen tot hiertoe.

Wat bedoel je met twee keer gemaild? Over dit onderwerp of over iets anders? De nederlandse vertaling is nu zo goed als klaar denk ik, kleine aanpassingen kunnen we steeds doen. Zal ik de nieuwe versie al naar Igor doormailen, of wachten we eerst op meer reacties van andere gebruikers? Ik kan de tekst nog eens hier op het forum plaatsen, maar dat is altijd zo'n lange lijst. Ik heb nog enkele "onvolmaaktheden" teruggevonden bij de uitvoering van het programma: In het menu "Bestand" Presentatie maken Presentatie maken als... Presentatie maken en starten Schermbeveiliging maken De titel van het geopende scherm is steeds: "Presentatie maken onder een andere naam" De bijhorende titel per opdracht bovenaan het scherm veranderen is blijkbaar niet mogelijk. @Purist Wow! Wat een werk hebt u al verzet, van harte bedankt. Maar ik heb ook niet stilgezeten hoor, al uw suggesties en verbeteringen zijn verwerkt in het nieuwe "nederlands.ini" bestand. Ik heb ook geen idee waarop dit slaat. Ik heb "Opnieuw beginnen" opgenomen in de tekst, misschien komt het ergens "boven water"? Ik had "Basisinstelling" als omschrijving gekozen omdat het woord zou passen op de knop (15 letters), maar ik vind "Standaardwaarden" (16 letters) als omschrijving wel beter. Maar spijtig genoeg is dit woord wat te lang om mooi te passen op de knop. We zoeken misschien best een alternatief? Ook hier zitten we met hetzelfde probleempje. Door gebruik van "pictogram" valt in "Projectopties - Algemeen" de tekst "Toevoegen 32x32 pictogram" en "Toevoegen 16x16 pictogram" voor een stukje weg. Hallo Maureen, Ken, "Diatoonprijs" is an award donated by the foundation Diatoon. An organisation of amateur slideshowmakers in The Netherlands. Diatoon is also a periodical that appears 4 times a year and that deals with all kind of information about slides, slideshow programming, and so on. Dia = Dutch for slide toon = Dutch for sound, and also means showing something. I subscribed to Diatoon until last year, but stopped because it was to expensive to send it to Belgium. Greetings, Cor
