I am just completing a video tutorial DVD/CD for wedding photographers and have included evrything I can think off and then saw your utility.

I have not downloaded it yet as I am away from home, but would like to do so and include it and how to use it on my tutorial disk.

The CD am producing will not cost a fortune, but it is a commercial product. Do you have any issues with me using your utility in this way please?

  2. I am currently working on a Movie tutorial DVD aimed at wedding photographers that will cover the making of slide shows using Photoshop and PTE.

It will also cover the grabbing of music and sound editing too.

I have over 3 hours of video currently complete and there will be other wedding slide shows on that DVD

If you check here http://www.beckhamdigital.co.uk from time to time you will see when it is launched

I have not read all the suggestions, but what buyers appear to want is something in PTE that will grab an Mp3 from a Music CD and also some basic sound editing, fade in/out etc.

Not sure if that is possible, but at present most PTE users get stuck on these issues, particulalry the creation of an Mp3.

Build them in and charge more for the program.

  6. One of my wants was the ability to sort images on a light box type scenario and then rename them as a sorted group of images.

It is not so important for me now since the Photoshop CS browser can do this, but others would find this very usefull.

Can you take the default tick out of the repeat music after playing option in the music tab. Those that want this option can add the tick, but I never have yet and it is a pain when you forget to remove it.

Is it possible to pause a transition (fade) for a second or two before it continues the transition to complete.

For real beginners the sizing of images still causes them real grief, is there a way to have PTE size images automatically for those who want it.

  7. I think I have found my own solution to this problem. It looked to me as though the slides at 1024*768 where being stretched too far to fit the wide screen TV I have. I thought that perhaps there were not enough pixels for this stretching so I did a test with a few slides at something like 1200-1300 pixels on the long side and they project nicely on DVD.

Now, unless I am mistaken my PC will handle those file sizes without a problem and once they are written to DVD they should run a treat on a domestic DVD player.

My one doubt is the file size of the slide show as it ends up on the DVD. I need to get about an hours worth of slide shows on a DVD, but using a number of short sequences.

If I cannot do that the cunning plan I have may fall flat on its face.

  8. I am having a little trouble with what looks like a Moire effect on some of the images when a PTE DVD is written. So much so that it spoils the sequence and almost looks like part of the image is jumping.

I don't recal having this problem with earlier versions of PTE and I have not tried DVD writing for a while.

    Any ideas please

No mystery of how to get 120 minutes on a CD, it rather depends on what you are doing, static screens take less memory than one that is constantly moving.

What I try to aim for is a full CD or to exhaust all my idea on that subject, whatever comes sooner. Generally the CD runs out before my ideas.

  10. I have another tutorial CD now available at the address below called Tips, Tricks, Techniques and fun stuff, but it also covers PTE slide shows to DVD as well.

    http://www.barrybeckham.co.uk/tutorials/tu...tips_tricks.htm

It contains over 100 minutes of video plus many minutes of audio visual samples. Watch the stunning AV samples and then click the video button for a detailed movie on how the effect was created. It covers subjects like picture in picture effects, intro techniques, superimposing images into a slide sequence, title effects and edge effects and much more.

My aim was to try and cover all those area that do not often get covered in magazines due to lack of space. I wanted to include a lot more, but I ran out of space on a 700mb CD.

I will work on the sister CD to the one above asap.

I have added three new tutorial CD's over the past few weeks, two are dedicated to PTE users and one is using Photoshop and is dedicated to making effective selections.

  11. This CD is aimed squarely at PTE users and covers free software for grabbing Mp3 files and manipulating them.

It also contains tutorials using Adobe Audition (formerly Cooledit)

It runs for about 120 minutes and costs £12

Admin..........I will send some details you request later.

I am also planning another on tips, tricks, techniques and fun stuff, again aimed at PTE users but covering all the interesting effects and techniques we can employ in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.

  12. Thanks for such a rapid response I will make sure I point the guiy towards this thread. A good point Ed about playing as a preview as I found that at times too, I never thought of that while speaking to him last night.

I assumed he saved the file to a reasonable level, but didn't ask afetr he said he resized them to 1024, I assumed the rest.

I also use a blank slide at the start of my shows, now there is a throw back to the old days and I always add a period of silence to the music, just to allow everything to fire up and settle.

Thanks for the feedback, good as ever.

BTW I think I have a short reply to a readers question in the next issue of DP on how to burn PTE to DVD, that might stumlate a few more sales of PTE and spread the word further

  13. Can anyone shed some light on this problem that was put to me, but I can't offer a solution

The synchronisation of an MP3 commentary track on picturesToExe is perfect when played on the PC. However, as soon as the exe file has been written to CD and that CD is replayed on the same computer (and tried another) via the CDROM, the commentary is about 4 seconds out of synch.

This guy sizes his images to 1024 x768 and writes CD's using win on cd, anyone any ideas please?

I thought a slow CDROM may have been the problem, but it is 52 speed and unlikely. I have suggested that the Exe file be written to a CD, then copied back to the PC to see what the result is then. If it runs slow the trouble is likley to be the CD writing software, if not, at least the writing to CD can be illiminated.

I would appreciate any ideas you may have so I can pass it back to him.
