No, the music will play normally. If you leave one comment in place say mid way along and pause after the comment then move the comment out of the way and then play from the pause play there is a distinct rise in volume

Hello Igor, The volume levels you mention are not what I would use. It may be I had not set them before sending the test file. In the sequence the track 1 volume would be about 30/35 % and track two voice at 100%. If you concentrate on the music level and try to ignore the voice when the play reaches the track two voice clip the music reduces in level. Not to a drastic level but it lowers.

Hello Igor Sorry for the late reply but I couldn't find the post. That is correct. I record the voice in PTE on a separate track and when the music track gets to it the music level lowers. It is the same as what someone would do deliberately using envelope tool to allow a voice to be heard. I have gone back and looked at other sequences and found the same thing. Never noticed it before as the drop is not dramatic. Raymond

I am using version 9.0.22 I am recording voice over to a sequence using the record facility. On playback when the track gets to a voice recorded section the music on the other track drops to a lower level The level of change is not noticeable through the headphones only on normal playback. I have never noticed this before. Have I inadvertently set something that I am unaware of? Snapcam

I decided following my earlier problem to delete the ver8 PTE from my Desktop. I then found the project files from my current programme icons went blank and I was unable to open the files. I reinstalled the VER 8 . The files I am trying to open were made on Ver9.21 Now when I try to open any project file in Windows explorer I get the 'earlier version' warning and it wont open . I have to go to file open in the PTE ver9.21 programme and search the computer from there and it will then open normally showing VER 9.21, Is this something to do with the old version 8. My computer worked quite happily until problem described in my Jan 28th post

This is the same error I had (see my post Jan 28th) It was resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling PTE. I also had an earlier version PTE8 still on my computer and when I opened it after I had resolved the issue with Ver9 I got the same message. Again resolved by uninstalling and reinstalling. I have presumed it is something connected to a Windows10 update as I have no other reason for it to suddenly appear. But that is for bigger brains than mine.

UPDATE. I had previously downloaded PTE again to deal with the problem to no avail . I have just uninstalled PTE and reinstalled from download. All normal again!! Thank Goodness! I would still like to know if possible what may have caused this problem for information for my AV Group as I know this may have happened before to others. Snapcam

In recent days I noticed that occasionally the programme would not reopen an unpublished sequence. The programme now refuses to open at all either a previous working file or direct from the desktop. the loading circle just runs and the computer says the programme is not responding. I get warnings when I open an earlier version of PTE. see attached screen shots. I have downloaded the latest programme again to no avail. HELP! PTE screen shot 2.docx PTE screen shot.docx

Has anyone experienced a 'Frame engine exception' warning. PTE 9.01 The programme then froze and can't be shut down. This is not my own problem but is being experienced by a fellow worker.

Hello Igor, This problem is very random and I think it is a transfer fault, it is not a fault with PTE publishing. When it happens any spaces in the title are filled with the figure '20%' and the download shows it has downloaded the file e.g. 140mb. however windows does not recognise it and it won't operate. Sometimes if it is zipped it will work. I got one through that had the fault but was then sent zipped and it worked as expected. When I forwarded it on from my computer it has the fault. THE FOLLOWING IS FROM ONE OF THE GROUPS THAT WAS HAVING PROBLEMS DOWNLOADING ONE OF FIVE exe.FILES I WAS SENDING : Our AV Group makes extensive use of WeTransfer.com and has found that connection speed and any sharing of your internet connection during upload can cause 'corruptions'. Our major problem with Australian Internet broadband connections is the FTP upload speed is 3 to 4 times longer than faster FTP download speed. Also complicating the whole FTP upload and download process is the move towards AVs being produced as MP4 and MOV video output files which are 3 times bigger in file size to an EXE version of the AV. I am in contact with WeTransfer to investigate as I think this has only started since they upgraded their site. Thaks for your reply and I will try your suggestion

I don't know if this is the same but I think this is the problem found a couple of years ago when the RPS Group purchased an ASUS laptop but could not use the dedicated card when showing various authors i.e. at a festival. Provided the dedicated card was used at production then fine but if not then the laptop reverted to the lower standard integrated graphics when showing. Apparently the design of the laptop was the problem

Occasionally went a completed sequence is sent to me via We Transfer it comes across as a collection of data marked 20% If it is sent zipped it will work OK. However when I then forward the sequence from my computer it will not open even though it plays on my computer. Any one else had this

Thanks Guys, I have been asked the question as there was a problem a few months ago when Windows 10 was found to corrupt SD cards when trying to transfer sound files to the computer with 10 installed. Windows were aware of this and promised a fix. I know some folk had problems when it first downloaded with some programmes not working. Snapcam

Few of my associates have taken the plunge due to reports of various problems and was wondering have PTE users who have WINDOWS 10 found any difficulties with using PTE on the new system.
