  1. Hello Boys Having exhausted all other avenues I returned to PC World with the new laptop. KNOWHOW 1 Pressed all the keys and tried various fixs declared the problem was I needed Direct X 11 downloaded beyond that he would have to charge me. He left me to wait on the download to complete. KNOWHOW 2 The download complete he downloaded PTE again and again it would not open. Can you come back in 2 hours and I will do a factory reset ( this was after telling me it was my fault because I had downloded into an office file?????. 2 hours later another PTE download ,still no result. KNOWHOW 2 He then told me Microsoft said that the PTE is incompatable with Windows7??? and that the problem was that my new laptop was a 64bit computer and the programme was 32bit. That he said was down to me and I should have told the sales what programme I was loading and gave me the computer declaring it OK. Simple soul that I am I suggested he try loading PTE on another 64 bit computer. I COLLECT MY REPLACEMENT COMPUTER TOMORROW. Thanks for all the suggestions. Snapcam
  2. Brian, how would I check your suggestion, as I'm making little progress in any other direction. Snapcam
  3. I am using Kaspersky Premium 2012 on both desk and laptop. I have uninstalled and re downloaded several times Ken I'm not quite sure what you mean. I am trying to lad the current version not the Beta. Snapcam. Peter , No I'm afraid this new laptop took all the spare pennies. But I have a sequence accepted so will be there in spirit.
  4. Hello Boys The file location is Pictures to Exe(C:\Programme Files(X86)\WnSoft Pictures to Exe\7.0\main This is the same location as on my desktop which has no problem. As Peter says its normally just download and run. On the laptop the active circle runs for a few seconds then stops but does not open. Snapcam
  5. I am trying to load PTE onto my new laptop. I have downloaded the programme from te Wnsoft site but it will not open on the computer despite it being on the HD. It comes UP as incompatable application when I investigate loading problems. I am running windows 7 and never had a problem loading PTE before. Any IDEAS SNAPCAM
  6. Hello again Gary, It really is frustrating when you ask for comments and none come. Had you NOT wanted any comments you would have been inundated I can appreciate the points you make. I have looked at it again and the wildlife shots are even better second time around. It must have been a wonderful trip. I don't think I would chance those little canoes with the crocs or is it aligators around. One last comment if I may, nothing wrong with verticals except where the last one pops up for no apparent reason towards the end. By the way it is fairly simple to use the add track and customise facility in project options to create a sound track. Snapcam
  7. Hello Gary Very enjoyable show with some great wildlife shots. I am not usually a fan of video clips included in a slide show but I think this worked pretty well. You asked for comments so here are a few which I think would really improve the sequence. At first I wanted to hear a commentary but as it progressed I found it self explanatory however the one piece of music used (good choice) throughout might be improved by fading out and in later and having ambiant sound effects as a background for these non music parts of the show. This could be done at several points. Some editing would remove the poorer quality images which pop up and take away from the flow ie the toucans with a bland sky behind and others that appear to have a lower resolution. The vertical shots suddenly appearing jar. either avoid their inclusion or group them together in one part of the sequence.Sometimes its what we leave out that improves a sequence. The video clips worked well and I enjoyed the onger clip of the boat along the river but the crocodile clip does not work. After seeing the end video clip, (I would cut the last few seconds),I thought that a similar clip of you setting out would be a great start. The above is only my opinion and at the end of the day it's your show. After all that I really did enjoy the show and got a real feeling for the place. Snapcam
  8. Excuse my ignorance Davy, but I had to Google The Burning Man Festival ,Fascinating. Really enjoyed your 'Watching the Watchers' it is so different from the normally expected. A really inovative mixing of video and still. I had to watch it twice to take in what I was seeing in video and the pan. Is the pan using a stiched panorama, I would have watched it twice anyway. Snapcam
  9. Its all worthwhile when your efforts give someone else pleasure. Thank you for your kind comments. Snapcam
  10. No need Dave, I just thought we were having a discussion on a subject that comes up regularly. You question e.g. regarding the RPS clarified a misapprehension by some. And I'm not paranoid, I just think everyone's against me Its good to talk. Snapcam
  11. DG, The prattling as you put it was in answer to another post taking a sideswipe at Maureen's fine A.V./Slideshow. 'You pays your money and you makes your choice'. I don't care what its called provided it entertains me. However, if I think something can be improved and the author asks for comments I will offer. It's like judging comments if it makes sense, take it on board if not ignore it. I find my trouble with slideshows nowadays is that I keep breaking the mounts trying to get them into the C.F. slot on the computer Truce? Snapcam
  12. Hello Morturn, I'm pleased you enjoyed the sequence. So often we take and retake a subject and really,I think the only answer is to create a sequence otherwise the images only sit and are occasionaly flicked over. I agree with your comment about repetition. This sequence used I think only 30 actual boat images from a folder of approx 150. Thanks for your comments. Snapcam
  13. Glad you enjoyed it Eric. It was made a couple of years ago and the thought of allowing pausing did not occure. Snapcam
  14. ...and your point is? Snapcam
  15. 'Another Day,Another Tide' As I comment on other people's work I thought it was time to again post something of my own. A sequence of images taken of a beached fishing boat at Bunbeg in Co. Donegal Ireland. Snapcam Thanks to Beechbrook for the space to publish. www.beechbrook.com/pte
  16. Hello Maureen I hesitated to comment this time, once again your images are beautiful. However, I see others have already commented in like vain. As you know I really enjoyed Florence but for the reasons I enjoyed Florence I think Siena comes up short. Still love the images though. Snapcam
  17. Some days I feel old and my head hurts. Snapcam
  18. Absolutely not. The RPS introduced an LRPS distinction in 'Photo Harmony'for exactly that. The requirment was for the images to have a theme and the sequence to have a structure. The idea was to introduce and encourage photographers into A.V. Snapcam
  19. Ah, the old question, is it A.V. At the risk of awakening B.B.down under here is my tuppence worth. A slide show is a set of disperate images with a piece of music of which we see many. On the other hand an A.V. is a set of images with a theme, the presentation has a progression or sequence that takes the viewer through the images in an orderly fashion using various techniques. Again I mention the sequence of the telephone images (lovely). The presentation will come to an end not leaving the viewer hanging in limbo. In my opinion that describes Maureen's 'Florence' A.V. 20. Thank you Maureen, once again when I hear NIKON I begin to question my lifelong attachment to Canon Snapcam
  21. Another great set of images and again somewhere that I have photographed but once again Maureen I am in awe at the quality of your images. You have this ability to capture a special quality in the light not to mention 'Ponte Vecchio' with a reasonable amount of people on it. I loved the telephone links. I have been bold enough before to ask about tripod use etc. perhaps you could share with us what equipment you are using. Snapcam
  22. Apology to Eric on rereading I realise I did not reply to your very helpful Screengrab. Belated thanks Snapcam
  23. Hello Mick Very enjoyable sequence of lovely images. Like Peter I am not a fan of movement just because we can but here I thought you handled it very well. The panning across images of single coloured plants was good. This adds interest to what can be very static shots. A couple of the zooms I thought were a little quick for the relaxed mood of the sequence There is mostly nice progression through the sequence. This can be lacking in shows like this and turns them into slideshows with music. I just watched and enjoyed a relaxed journey through some beautiful countryside. But now the cuckoo in the nest Im sorry to comment on something that you obviously think should be there but I felt the moving bird jarred and broke my mood each time it appeared). I think the music gave me the impression of the cuckoo when needed. A more subtle way may be to fade in and out a partial image of a bird in a corner of the image on screen, however its your show. As I said really enjoyed it (and the photography wasn't bad either ) Snapcam
  24. I understand what you are saying but with all previous ver's the d/top shortcut and the ver. no. always appeared automatically but not this time. Also Xaver and Eric behave yourselves Snapcam
