Following the discussion on my previous topic "transitions within a slide" I realized that transitions can also be made with video masks (typical example the case of portraits in JDP project Mon Maitre) I tried to develop video masks for simple cases like page, shape or slide, and I found it relatively simple (set the desired animation with PTE and then produce an MP4 small video, which will be the desired video mask) Now I have a new problem because any mask, that I would like to apply to any object in the slide, seems to start from the initial time (eg key frame time=0) The question is: how can I start a video object on any key frame time value in a given slide? For fixed images the problem does not exists, because I can always play with opacity, so the object will appear and disappear according to my whishes. But with video, if I cannot play it at any time (eg any value of key frame time), it seems that I will not be able to apply transition masks at any time in a given slide ( but only at the beginning of it). Can anyone help on that? Thanks Saluti Claudio

Thanks Dve, I am well aware of the way you are suggesting, but I saw a very interesting result in a sildeshow by JP Dollangere which is available on Beechbrook website The presentation name is "Mon Maitre" and it is really incredible from a technical point of view, specially if you consider that it was produced wit version 5 of PTE Saluti Claudio

Thanks Dave. I am not sure I fully uderstood. In the annexed screenshot I would like to apply transitions to the boy wiyh glasses (eg page curling transitions) with other boys appearing, while at the same time I would like to continue with the boy in the water (which is an animated image) eventually replaced with other objects, fully independant from the previous image It seems to me that if I tick on quick selection I do not have any possibilitiy to chose a type of transition (eg curl, shape, page,..) Hallo, I would like to apply transitions only to an image that is part of the slide, and not to the entire slide. So the transition should not affect the other objects in the slide (simple images or videos) Is there any tutorial already available on this subject? Thanks and saluti Claudio

Thanks to all for your help. I am still a little bit confused because I have already used this method and it did work. This time I checked carefully all the data of each image (600x600pixel, 300 pix/inch) and I see that the procedure is ripetitive ( in the sense that I get the same result) I tried to set the problem reducing the size of that particular image (from 100 to 98.5%) to fit with the other faces and it seems to work I appreciate the suggestion for alternative solutions, which seem very interesting, nevertheless I am curious and I I will continue to try to understand the reasons for the inconsistency in this particular case. May be I am still doing somethig wrong, but if I find the reason I will let you know Saluti Claudio

Dave , this is a picture of what I get (I am probably doing something wrong!) The "three image on white" background is child of a PNG three image on trasparent background The idea is to dissolve the opacity in order to show the PNG image. If I use either the PNG image or the jpeg three image on white, they work fine; with this child scheme the image is slightly bigger I hope you can see it Thanks Saluti Claudio

Thanks Lin the reason I was curious to know if there was or an automatic way is because I noticed a little problem (I am still working to try to understand it) When working with moving cubes or other figures, if I use several child levels, in order to change and/or dissolve images of the different faces , I noticed sometimes a slight misalignement (or size change) as an end result. (I am normally working with 600x600 pixel images) So, in principle I was a little bit reluctant to use child levels, unless real necessary. Thanks again Saluti Claudio

Last wek I attended a videoshow presentation by Martin Engelmenn (http://www.martin-engelmann.at/)%C2'> The show was very interesting and with lot of videos and timelapses. He told me that the total volume of the file was over 8 GB and it was produced with the system called Wings by Stumpf from Austria. He also said that he will need to spend a lot of time dedicated to squeeze the project in order to fit into a DVD for sale. Saluti Claudio

Dave I got an answer from Gary, so I realized that my question was not clear. I do not mean extrac images from a PTE exe files, but just extracting it, for myself, from a PTE file in which I am working, (avoiding so to repeat the same thing in Photoshop later)
