  1. Oké, here you've got me. I am in the happy circumstance to have a partner who owns one . Maybe you can give that a try?????
  2. Hi EZ, Yes, you must always use the full name of the program or icon. Some computers hide the extensions for known programmes so you can easily be mistaken in the full name of the programm. You can change that setting in the mapoptions under advanced. Activate the option to always show extensions. So in your case the autorun should say: [autorun] open=Jessica Lee Show.exe icon=Jessica Lee Show.ico Mind you, it is always better to use one word for the name of your show, or use underscores. There are systems which have problems with the whitespace between words. Also beware that your autorunfile (which needs to have the name autorun.inf) is in the root of the cd. Not in a folder. The show and icon should also be in the root. Don't forget to add the actual icon picture to the cd because even if you have used it as icon within the P2E show it is needed to provide the icon next to the driveletter of your cd.
  3. Hello Cor, Didn't mean to offend anyone by mentioning the Flemish way of translating... As you can see by the corrections of Purist, we all have our own choice of terms. This has nothing to do with 'standard Dutch' or the 'Green book'. Originally I come from the southern part of the Netherlands and I often use words which people in the middle of this country find strange. I think it is something like Queen's English and American English, Very much alike but different . I am going to give your translation a try. Maybe we could talk about it off forum, in Dutch. Send me an e-mail if you like. And as for Purist.... How many hours do you have to work to earn 25 Euro? Remember, everything you do in your spare time will cost you something
  4. Hey Purist, where do you live? It seems to be hard to find active Dutch members on this forum. I volunteer to give you a hand with the translation in case you need someone to brainstorm with when it comes to chosing the right words. My Dutch is pretty good, and I try to keep up with my English . I agree with you that the current translation is not complete and a little bit 'southern Dutch' . But, though it is not top of the edge, it is workable and I have come to the conclusion that for most people half a translation is better than none at all!
  5. Hi, I just searched the forum to see if there was something about archiving and the only thing I came up with was an advice to use Picasa. I am sure there are a lot of solutions to the question how to trace your images. What I am looking for is a program just for cataloging. But..., since I have lots of pictures, it should be possible to keyword them in a batch mode, not one by one. Furthermore it should be able to include cd-rom or dvd. What, if any, software do you use to find your photographs? Or do you just rely on your memory as I have done the last year, but I must be getting old, because I now start losing track
  6. Hi Cherrybee, Welcome to the forum. In future if you need such an 'addie' try the site of Boxig first. His site is for all of us a very rich source of extremely useful (and mostly free) applications which work really fine with Pictures to Exe. Including a very simple to use Autorunmaker This is the link to his site: http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com Take a look at it, maybe you'll find some more stuff you can use!
  7. Hello Mcarthur, I watched your show and though I saw several pictures I was very charmed of, I don't think the quality of the output of this program reaches anything nearby the quality of P2E. On my system (Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz, 1024 RAM), the transition effects where really jerky. On one occasion, don't know whether it was on purpose or not, the transition from black and white to color was jumpy. I really do hope the new P2E transitions will be much more smoother, otherwise I'm not even considering to use them. In my opinion your photographs deserve more than this. Maybe I'm a little bit harsh, but I would like to see your photo's also put together in a P2E show, just to see the difference. I just think you don't really need that much transitions and fading several images one by one can also be done in P2E just by preparing your photographs in an image editing program like Photoshop for example. I liked the photographs and the music was very well chosen. No information on the music though....
  8. Hi, I agree with Ron where he says you can see the difference in quality of shows coming from professional photographers or non-professionals. But... I also think this is always a fact. When you do something for a living you ought to be good at it. Otherwise you better search for another living. On the other hand there are a lot of people on a non-professional base pretty good at what they are doing. Question is, who decides what is good or what is very good if we are talking about photography and AV shows? Yesterday my sister asked a photo from me as a birthday present. I asked her what she liked best and she chose a macro photo of two bees on a flower of which I earlier had decided it was not good enough (not as sharp as I wanted it to be). What I want to say is that on the artistic side it is also a matter of taste. Furthermore, I think everyone wants to improve the quality of his own work. When I first saw the Black Country show of Barry I knew I wanted to reach his level. Now, knowing he is a professional photographer I am back with my two feet on earth . But I keep on trying to at least satisfy myself.
  9. Hi Vernon, What kind of musicfile are you using? P2E works best with a single MP3 file. Have you tried to sync to another musicfile? Can't you quit the preview by hitting Escape? If you want to quit by using the mouse you'll have to define this in the projectoptions. Does the music play without synchronization? You should tell as much as possible about the problem and what you have tried to solve it. Otherwise you won't get a proper answer.
  10. That doesn't surprise me at all! Congratulations. I still keep your show on my computer and watch it every once in a while. Still have the intention to go there too. I hope to see more of your work...
  11. You mean with PTE quality? I tried Rostrum, I also like this effect, but the quality isn't near as anything I should want to use in my shows. I would also like to be able to use my own graphics as a navigation bar. The bar as it is right now is very standard and most of the time I prefer not to use it. I also very much want to be able to set the custom options for several slides at once. In the timeline I would like to be able to select several slides and move them all together. That way synchronizing would be far more convenient.
  12. Hi, There is no need to give a full path when you make sure that the show and the application are in the same folder on your cd. Just the exact name of the application will do the trick. This way it'll work on every machine, whatever the driveletter will be! Marianne
  13. Hello Igor, I played around all day with the new version 4.30. At the end of the day I realised I forgot all day to save my work. Program never once failed. This is a very stable version without a single bug, as far as I can see! I am very happy with it. Furthermore I tried the new feature Use last transition effect to show desktop. I used a fade of 10 seconds from a black slide. Almost no visible hick! I have just one little comment on this one. In the Dutch version this line is not translated. It is put in English. Is this forgotten or haven't you got anyone to do the translating? I have read all the messages on the forum and have seen there is already a new list of wishes growing. Can I add one? Could it be possible to select several slides and change the slide setting for all of them in 1 action? I was half the way of my project when I wanted the rest of the slides have a longer fading time. I had to adjust all the slides one by one while all the fading times from that point on had to be the same. Anyway, I can imagine you are fed up with it for the next few weeks. But maybe after that? I for one promote P2E whenever and whereever I can. Early next year I am going to give 3 workshops for the members of our photography club on how to create slideshows. Guess which programm (demo) I will be using? Hopefully it will bring you some customers. Thanks, Marianne
  14. Hi, There is a simple way to start the show from whatever slide you want. Just rightclick on the slide of your choice and all the way down this fast menu you'll find the option start preview from this slide. That'll do it. Marianne
  15. Hello Igor, I've come up with something in the Beta 2 which is maybe known to you, but surprised me. I switched view several times, from vertical timeline to classical view. But when I change slideorder in classical view and then return to timeline view, the thumbnails haven't changed according to the list. In the preview they have changed though. So if you want to correct the view in the timeline, you actually move the wrong pictures. Is this a bug? Or is it just something I do wrong? Marianne
  16. Hello Tilman, I downloaded your show and am very much impressed. I keep some of the PTE shows of others on my harddisk to get inspiration or just because I want to remember myself at the level I one day want to achieve I put yours next to Barry's Black Country which still is my all time favorite. A few questions though: Did you take all the photographs in landscape? Or did you crop the standing ones afterwards? And how on earth did you manage to get them all in the same (very beautiful) color? Photoshop for sure, but by what method and are you willing to give the colorcode away? (Better to have a good copy than a bad original ) Anyway, I advise everybody strongly to take the time to download Oradour. I looked for some more information on the Internet and found a couple of sites, one even in Dutch. It is a long drive from the middle of Holland to the south of France, but one day I'll get there. That's for sure Marianne
  17. Hi, I'm just curious. Has anybody ever turned the working order the other way around? I mean when you have a song you very much like (or instrumental for all that matters), have you ever considered making photographs which complement to the music? Until now I always had the photographs first and then looked for music to go with the pictures. But I think it would be a challenge to turn this working order. Or would it be too artificial? What do you think? Marianne
  18. Hi Alan, That's why your shows are priceless! And I thought I was the only one with an extremely lack of spare time..... But without doubt, good work takes time. And as long as I am not contented with the result I keep up tuning. Marianne
  19. Hi Jopo, I made 4 shows eversince I discovered Pictures to Exe last july. It takes me a lot of time to get pictures and music perfect. I find Boxig's Dark table a great help (thanks Granot! ). I start my projects kind of blind eyed. They grow as I work. And lots of time during the buildup I change my mind about effects or music I use. In the end I have watched all the pictures about a hundred times or more. But it works for me that way. To be short, I make my shows like I live my life: kind of chaotic Marianne
  20. Hi Lenny, I did a test with your second hyperlink. From within the preview I can't get it to work. P2e freezes up and only ctr-alt-del brings my computer back to life. If I make an exe file the link works perfect. So my guess is that using the preview to test the link doesn't work. But from within the exe file it should work. Maybe someone with Windows 98 can test this also, because I have XP pro... Marianne
  21. I just downloaded v4.20 and did a little test. Seems that when I add opt_fastFade=1 ánd opt_SmoothFade=1 , the transitions get worse. They are flickering. I have an AMD 1500xp system and Windows XP pro. But when I leave out the option SmoothFade, the transitions are like they are meant to be. Very, very smooth. Seems to me that adding the option SmoothFade to the ini file at least in my case is overkill. I am very content with the option fastFade though. I compared this with an earlier version and a show made in the earlier version. Transitions are significantly better. Didn't think that was possible, because I thought the toplevel of quality was reached Thank you Igor, I'll keep up advertising your software to all my friends! Marianne
  22. Hi, As a default with dual monitor the desktop is extended to te second monitor, PTE always shows on the first monitor. If you want both monitors to show the same screen you should use the clone option. I use the Matrox card, so maybe with other cards the name will be different. Anyway, you can reach these settings by rightclicking on your desktop, choose the tab settings and then advanced. If you have installed the drivers of you graphic card there should show up something to change the settings of the dual option. Marianne
  23. Hmmm, can't imagine if it's about computers there is a subject you know nothing about. But if I can be of any help to you..... just call me Marianne
  24. Granot, Thank you for your reply. I was thinking much to complicated. After reading your suggestion, I have taken a look at the software delivered with my Matrox. It is possible to add a shortkey to change screens. I have tried this, and problem is now solved without the need of downloading other software. Marianne
  25. Hi, Could be out of topic, but maybe Boxig has a solution.... At the moment I have two screens installed. One big 22" to work on, and one 17" aside to put my Photoshop tools on and to see how my PTE show looks on 1024 x 768. But, whenever I want to test, I must first change the settings of my graphic card to make the small screen the first screen. Otherwise PTE starts with the show on my big screen. Do you think there is a way to choose with one click of the mouse on which screen the PTE show starts? Maybe with a script or something? Any suggestion is welcome! Marianne
