  1. I would love it if I could set the duration for individual slides and lock those durations. When you let the software automaticaly sync the slides with the music, it would keep locked slides at their individual durations, and adjust all "unlocked" slides to finish at the end of the music. Currently, when you auto-arrange the slides to sync with the music, and individual slide durations are ignored and all slides have the same duration. This feature would be very helpful when you want most slides to be the same duration and synchronized with music but a few have pan & zoom effects that are of a longer duration. John L
  2. If you have more than 2 keyframes, I think the sections should be "separated" by default and not "glued "like they are right now. Let's take a simple example : 3 keyframes => 2 sections. The default speed options (pan/zoom/rotate) for those 2 sections are "linear". If you apply "smooth" for pan, it is like you have only 2 keyframes (1 and 3), the 2nd one is ignored. You have to separate the sections in the setting up speed options to make this 2nd keypoint effective. But if you apply "linear" back, you do not have to separate the sections because separate and glued sections for linear animations behave the same way. With "linear" option, the keyframes are never ignored but they are with other options. In my opinion, it's confusing. Whatever the speed options choosed, it should respect the same logic. And if you add a keyframe, it means you want it to take effect, whatever the speed option choosed.
  3. Igor, I have just been experimenting this morning with adding a ‘keyline’ (a fine-line border) around existing images in a slideshow. By adding a Drop Shadow to the images in Project Options, under Additional Options ~ with the images set to display at 90% (of the slide to show main images) I was able to create a fairly good ‘keyline’. --------------------------------------------------------- Display shadow behind slide image ~ Customize :- Color ~ Black (could be White or any other color) Opacity ~ 100% Angle ~ 90° Distance ~ 0 Size ~ 0 (defaults back to ‘1’ on return) Spread ~ Cone Inverted ---------------------------------------------------------- ‘Set for existing slides’ clicked for both 90% size and the Drop Shadow allowing these modifications to be quickly applied to all the images in the slideshow (as opposed to modifying each image separately in Objects and Animation) However, I think this ‘keyline’ effect could be improved on by you adding a new ‘Spread’ option to those already on offer ~~ a single color option without a defused (soft) edge as it is increased in size ~ this would enable people to add a solid ‘keyline’ of one pixel (or more) around the outside of their images quickly and effectively. I am guessing that this would not require too much work for you to achieve (?) ~ hopefully by adding just one additional ‘Spread’ style ~ do you think this would be possible to do ? Sorry to suggest yet another ‘task’ for you to think about as I realise that you are constantly working on other major (and more important) enhancements to PTE. I hope you will forgive me. bjc
  4. Igor and team, I'm installing each beta of v5.5 as it comes out. Although I always take the option to copy forward the settings from my previous version, this does not copy forward the settings from my default template. Each time I install a v5.5 beta I have to produce a new default template. Is it possible to have the install copy the default template settings along with the other settings, please?
  5. If you want to display a slide longer, you have two options : - scale keyframes in object - do not scale keyframes in object If you have an object in this slide with more than 1 keyframe, if you do NOT tick "scale keyframes" option, not a single keyframe should be changed, even those which are in the transition effect zone with next slide (grey bar on the right of the O/A timeline). If you DO tick the "scale keyframes" option, if you have several keyframes positionned in this transition effect zone with next slide (one at the beginning, one in the middle, and one at the end by example), once the modification is applied, tw okeyframes are overlapping and are positionned at the end of this zone. To make it short, there is a problem with calculation of keyframes if there are some keyframes in the transition effect zone with next slide, whatever the option choosed to modify the time of the slide.
  6. Hi all, it will be a great improvment to have a toggle "normal/additive". A = first image, B = second image in normal mode transparency will be the same as now. (if A = 50% => then B can be <= 50%, but not > 50%) in additive mode, program shows two or more images like a dia-projector, when I have a white picture I can see the image below. if A = 50%, B can be 0-100% e.g. A=50%, B=100%... total light = 150%, we can see a brillant transition like a flash shot. Then maybe will be necessary to change the fade-out curve of A image, now we have = fade-out A = fade-in B the only way we have to change this is to use: "objects and animation". Last small idea... is it possible to insert "Flip image vertical/horizontal"? thanks in advance. Fabrizio
  7. When customising a slide by adding music to begin at that slide, you cannot see the full title of the existing music on that slide, when doing this in project options, there is a slider to view the full title. Can we have this in customise in the new version.? Regards Yachtsman1
  8. When a new PTE project is opened (File...New...) the default template is chosen and its name appears as the Project Name in the pop-up input box. I build two distinctly different types of sequence: - fully automated with a soundtrack file - totally manual with no soundtrack file I have created two Templates (Auto and Manual) because the Project Options settings are different for these two types. Obviously only one of them can be the nominated default Template. I also have other templates that include backgrounds and masks of a particular "look-and-feel" Would it be possible to change PTE so that, when it detects there are multiple templates in the Templates folder, it displays the input box, primed as now with the default Template name, but with a "down arrow" button at the right hand side of the input field so that, if a Template other than the default is required, it can be selected from a drop-down list triggered by clicking on the "down arrow" button.
  9. Would it be possible when watching preview (toast) on full screen to remove a slide from the show by just a key stroke. I am think of club night when judes want to remove slides (images) so as to end up with just the winning images. At present you have to leave show enter edit mode remove image the launch show again. These shows do not have music or any timings. Martin
  10. There has been some discussion recently about the need to constantly reselect text font, colour etc when using text objects in O&A. See thread here: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8151 I hope Colin doesn't mind me hijacking his thread like this but I support his suggestion that it would be nice to make our choice "stick". Perhaps we could have a new Project Option where we can specifiy our preference for text font, colour, bold, italic, underscore, etc when working with text objects. Then we would need to change this only when we wanted a different text style on a particular object. Having such an option would make the choice of text font in a text object like the choice of transition effect. We set our preference and then can over-ride it if and when we want to. Over to the programming wizards!
  11. Hello, I would like to propose the German user interface to be revised. There are some mistakes which are pretty obvious. Example: "Opacity" (in animation tab) is translated by "Transparenz" (engl. Transparency) which is the opposite of what it should be (Photoshop uses here "Deckkraft"). There are other expressions where you can only read the words, but it seems impossible to understand what they mean. I already made some proposals here. I myself do not use the German interface, but thinking of the generation 60+, it might be better to have a good one. Kind regards Xaver H. Munich
  12. Hi, I recently did a show for presentation at my camera club and was disappointed to see that the font I chose when making the show was not used for the show. The font I used was not installed on the computer at the club. P2E is the first slide show program I've used where I've encountered this problem. Is it possible in a future version to render the text within P2E so that the text becomes part of the show? My apologies if this has been posted earlier.
  13. In preparing tutorials I discovered that it would be very useful to be able to know precisely the running time of a PTE slideshow as it is being constructed. If there were a way to keep a running total of the display times plus transition times it would make creating background music or speech to match much easier. As it is, I time each slide plus transitions or put a stopwatch on the total slideshow before adding music then adjust by eigher adding slides, changing display times or adjusting background music using audacity to match the slideshow. Of course it's possible to look at the last keyframe time on the last slide (assuming there is one at the end of the slideshow) and get the precise time - but often I find myself adding a keypoint at the very end just to "know" the exact timing without getting out the stopwatch or checking the time for the last slide and adding this to the previous slide's last keyframe. It would be a great help to me to have a small window which gave the running time for the slideshow... Best regards, Lin
  14. We can view the TV Safe Zone ... is Fit to TV Safe Zone possible or is this function not a practical solution? This will quickly fit images for DVD production shows and help avoid the tv cropping effect many users experience. Users now currently compensate for this cropping effect by using Additional Options and set to a % of the slide to show main images.
  15. Hello. I think it would nice in the animation to be able to switch from grey to color and vice versa. Just like the option of Opacity. Tissot
  16. Igor, Prospective pan and zoom. Would it be possible to have a colour change to the little grey button for toggleing between normal zoom and prospective zoom, possibly red for prospective and grey for normal, this would enable us to see at a glance what mode we are in. Hope you can achive this and is not to much work. Tom.
  17. When viewing a slide show starting in the middle the music always starts from the beginning and not where it should be on the appropriate slide. Can this be rectified please JeanandPeter
  18. Opinions wanted on an idea for Igor to consider. We have Fit To Screen and View In Window. What about a third option IF IT IS POSSIBLE? The third option would be to fit to screen on monitors of the desired resolution and less and view in a window on monitors which are above the desired resolution. My example: If I make a show (no PZR) with 1280x1024 images then my third option would fit to screen on monitors UP TO 1280x1024 and view in a 1280x1024 window on monitors above 1280x1024. Maybe it is asking too much of IGOR but if it is possible is it what you guys would like to see? - I certainly would. DaveG
  19. Hi Fellow PTE users, Something thats been bugging me for ages now and I don't know if others find the same problem, but if you have numerous folders that contain PTE projects and you double-click on the .pte file to open the project, PTE opens but the folder tree view never reflects the folder you have openend the .pte file from - hence doesn't display the contents of the show you intend to work on. You then have to drill down your drive/folder list to find the project to be able to work on it. If you then close the project then re-open the same project it will open in the correct view. If you open another project from a different folder, you then have to find that in the folder view. Ideally I'd like the folder tree view to reflect the folder you have double-clicked on (from Windows Explorer) , maybe it could be incorporated in future versions or updates. I have tried unticking the "Load last used project" but it always seems to tick itself again. Not sure if anyone else is having this little niggle with this amazing piece of software, but thought I'd see anyway Regards...Andy
  20. I do people slide shows and would love to just import the orginal file into pics to exe and then put a white border on it in this program without having to do all of them in photoshop. That would be a nice feature. Thanks Phoebe
  21. I find the handling of building the menu in VideoBuilder a lot of hassle as each one has to be done individually. What I would like to see are:- 1. The ability to select all or any of the menu 'images' and edit just one and have that edit applied to all the selected 'images' 2. The ability to select all text descriptors of the respective 'image' items and edit just one item and have that edit applied to all the selected text descriptors. 3. The ability to select menu items and have automatic alignment features - i.e. select some of the items and have them align left edges, right edges, top edges, bottom edges and also an automatic distribution of items based around their centres.
  22. Igor, Is there a way to include the ability to turn off the Copyright on a few select slides? I create a manual slideshow that I allow my clients to view an image at a time. These images all have my copyright on them (like PROOF across the middle). The problem is that some Title Slides and my final slide also have these on them. It covers up important information, I'm wanting the client to see. Also on Copyright is there the ability to shift up or down (vertically) the copyright image when you select center. The offset only appears to handle horizontal (maybe I'm just not doing something correctly on this one). Thanks in advance for your consideration of this feature. Regards, Fred p.s. - I hope you had a good vacation/holiday!
  23. In all P2Exe versions the images used in the slide-show are incorporated into the exe file during the "create slideshow" process. Although this has many benefits it means that the images used in the slide-show must be supplied by the creator of the slide-show. Could a project option be included which when set allows the executable to read in the images at run-time? The images would have to be located in the same folder as the executable and would have to conform to a naming sequence (eg image1, image2, image3 etc) defined by the slide-show creator when the excecutable was built. No idea if this would be possible/easy/difficult but if it was included in a future version (obviously only as an option) it would enable slide-show designers to create executables that could display end-users images. The end-user would have to rename their images to fit the naming sequence used by the slide-show designer but there are many software utilities that would make this renaming process easy for the end-user. I believe this option would open up other uses for the P2Exe product and commercial opportunities for slide-show designers.
  24. What if users could create their own 1. Transition effects 2. Zoom and Pan effects 3. Templates for more elaborate effects 4. Mask effects (edges, textures, Sepia or other filters) These could be created as plug-ins. Some plugins could be free, some could be sale-able add-on packages by users or Igor I could plug-in a nice album effect from The Dom for a few slides, and then add a snowglobe effect from Lin Evans, and then then my favorite series of crazy swoops and swirls. Right now I can use one template at a time, but not more than that (Is their a way??) I don't want to sell them or buy them (I want to get them all free!) but it might be a way to motivate user talent to benefit us all. jk
  25. I would find two small improvements to the file panel most helpful: Slides selected in the timeline have their names shown in bold. However those used in O & A as child images are not flagged. Could they be marked in some way please? When I have completed a show I delete all the unused .jpg's using the file panel since I still have the raw images. Would it be possible to have the delete key working in the file panel, preferably only on images that are not used in the slide list or O & A? Thanks, Dave
