Hi, Thanks for the information. Please let me know what antivirus software you're using: Windows Defender (by default) or another antivirus? The symptoms suggest that either the Documents folder is syncing with the cloud service (usually it should cause that issue). Or the antivirus is interfering with PTE AV Studio, slowing down every operation within the styles/transitions storage.

Changing the speed of a video is broken in several ways [SOLVED]
Igor replied to mhwarner's topic in PTE AV Studio 12 Beta
Hi Mary, Thanks for sending me the sample video file and project! I've reproduced the issue with freezing on video encoding and strange speed. We'll check the code. -
Hi Frans, I recommend to use "Quality" mode in PTE AV Studio and choose the "High quality" preset (100% in Custom mode). This is the best choice for all types of content - animated slideshows or dynamic video footage. Video encoder automatically allocates bitrate, assigning high bitrate to dynamic scenes with video footage (or animated pictures) and low bitrate to static photos. The automatically calculated bitrate can vary from 0.7 Mbit to 60 Mbit. For example, the Sample Project at 1920x1080 (HD), 60p has an average bitrate of 8.6 Mbit. You don't waste bitrate unnecessarily - it increases only where needed, maintaining constant visual quality. This is similar to saving a JPEG file when you specify the desired compression quality, for example "9". The file size will differ depending on the complexity of the image details and its dimensions. If you still prefer to set the bitrate manually, use these values as a guideline: HD (1920 x 1080), 60p: 4-8 Mbit - for animated images 10-16 Mbit - for mixed content or dynamic video content 4K (3840 x 2160), 60p: 15-30 Mbit - for animated images 40-60 Mbit - for mixed content or dynamic video content Also avoid hardware encoders for best quality. Important note: Bitrates from video files recorded by professional cameras or smartphones should not be used as a reference. They use simplified hardware encoders (works in real time) that don't utilize bitrate as efficiently, so manufacturers compensate by significantly increasing the bitrate.

I tried it on my end more than once. Speeding up, slowing down — everything works. There is a complete freeze frame, and there is acceleration. I exported the video in 4K at 60 frames per second. I separated the audio file from the video so I could watch the video with sound. I tested it on both long and short video files. Everything works perfectly.

Thanks for the quickly and good response. Ale53

" added a single clip. Changed the speed to 200%. It changed the stated video duration but it did not speed up the clip. And during playback, the video ends prematurely because it is not speeded up. Also, I could not publish the show to an .mp4. The publish window just sat there and never did anything. " This part is NOT RESOLVED. Please check your messages for link to a zipped pte file to confirm.

Hello, I could start by answering your last question, but to answer your first question, yes, the styles and transitions folder is empty. And no, to answer your second question, I don't use any services on the new one. And it seems that for now, moving the Styles and Transitions folder to another hard drive has worked, as the window closes properly. But I have to tell you something curious: the PTE program moves all the folders from one drive to another (from C: to K:), and it has only left one empty folder on the C: drive, the Transitions folder. I don't know why it couldn't cut and paste that folder.

Rather low volume of new sound effects [SOLVED]
Igor replied to CorVdK's topic in PTE AV Studio 12 Beta
Thanks for checking. I thought I had applied normalization to -3.0 dB for all sound files in Audacity. I'll check again on Monday. P.S. Just in case, you need to add sound objects to a slide again to check updated sound files. -
Do you mean new text animations in V12? Not yet. But work on the text objects is not finished for V12. Wait a little.

It's an interesting case. So the long delay with closing the Slide Options window by clicking the OK button occurs even if Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions folder is empty? Does the Documents folder on your PC sync with any cloud services? OneDrive, DropBox, Google, iCloud? Try to change a location of "Styles and Transitions" folder in PTE AV Studio. Browse the main menu > Settings > Preferences. Templates tab. Choose another location on your local drive outside Documents or Desktop folders. For example, on drive D:\

Hallo, everyone. Is It some new effect about text in Pte 12? Tanks at advance for answer. Ale53

Yes, I restart Windows every day. This isn't new; it's been happening for a while. However, there's no problem with the styles window; it closes fine.

Rather low volume of new sound effects [SOLVED]
chanfi22 replied to CorVdK's topic in PTE AV Studio 12 Beta
Tested, it's better but still seems too weak. I just created a video with 2 sounds : Clicl1 and Page Turn 3 (level 100) and analyzed the result with AUDACITY : by applying the amplification filter, we see that we can increase by 6dB. -
The sound object is not replaced [SOLVED]

Hi, try to restart Windows.

Hi Igor, I saw your message because I had the browser open with the page, as I don't receive email notifications for new replies. With the Options window, there is no delay when closing it, but I've noticed that time is also lost. I mean, the window closes, but then the application remains blocked for a while. In the following video, you'll see that the window closes when I apply a transition, but then I click on the other slides, and it doesn't show the slide. It doesn't do anything for a while; it's like it's frozen. I've also tried opening the Options window, and I haven't applied any transitions, but it still leaves the program frozen for a moment. As for the PicturesToExe folder, I don't have anything there because it's newly installed and doesn't have any extra transitions installed. I used to have some from colleagues installed, but I thought some of them might be bad and causing problems, so I uninstalled them and reinstalled only the transitions that come with the program by default. Hi, Usually the OK button should instantly close the Slide Options window. Do you observe the same issue (delay) with the Project Options window when the Transtions tab is chosen? How many custom transitions you have added? Please do the following: 1. Close PTE AV Studio. 2. Find the following folder on your computer: Documents > PicturesToExe > Styles and Transitions 3. Create a a backup of this folder (Styles and Transitions) as a ZIP archive. 4. Check a file size of Transitions folder inside Styles and Transitions. Let me know its size. 5. Can you send us a copy of the Transitions folder in a ZIP? Send me a personal message with the download link throug the forum messenger.

SoCu started following The Transitions window takes a long time to close

Hello, I am testing version 11.0.20 Build 1, and I have noticed that when you are in the Transitions window, if you select a transition and click the OK button, the window takes a long time to close. On the other hand, the Styles window closes immediately after clicking the button. Why might this be? Thank you. Transitions Window.mp4

Could you please help me answer the question below: What is the best bitrate for creating an HD/4K video file, when using Bitrate mode in the custom video settings (fps 60p)? Greetings, Frans

We fixed it in Beta 4. -
Beta 4 is available See the download links above. Sound library: normalized all audio files to -3 dB for consistent volume levels. Added new sounds. New slide style: Brush Strokes - Frosted Glass (Creative category). Fixed an issue with file replacement in Sound object - old file remained. Fixed an issue with incorrect video duration after trimming a video with changed speed. Updated Dutch translation.

I moved several recent posts regarding integration of PTE Video Optimiser and PTE AV Studio to a new topic: https://www.pteavstudio.com/forums/topic/52710-why-is-video-optimiser-still-a-separate-tool/
