Wine is not emulator (W. i. n. e.) as Virtual PC or VMWare. It emulates system calls and functions as in Windows. Their developers customize Wine for almost an each program. But it's a very interesting that slide-shows work without special optimization on Linux

Thank you all for exploring this interesting moment! PTE automatically sets "Exit after last slide" option, if you enable this "Show transition effect to desktop after last slide" option. I'll turn off this automatical enabling in case of screen saver.

In v4.40 it will possible to play sound comment for the several slides. Also there is an one internal option which allows for "Run Application after last slide" option be always workable, even if user terminates a slide-show by Esc button. Open your project .pte file, find and set 0 for the next string: opt_runapponexitiflastslide=0

I've fixed one bug (with help of Guido) in "Show transition effect to desktop after last slide" option. The error message always occurs, if your slide-show synchronized; uses "Show transition effect to desktop after last slide" option; and first slide without main picture. It's a so often problem! In the next option we plan to add option which will detect *protected* WMA files and PTE will not add such files, showing warning with recommendation about converting into MP3.

I'll try to add anamorphic DVD and HDTV resolutions in the next versions.

To boxig, Marcovelo I just fully realized ability to run several applications on one action. Also it possible to specify parameter of external application: (notepad.exe, calc.exe, setvol.exe 25) And EXE file any slide-show can be run starting from a necessary slide. E.g. command: "MySlideshow.exe" 7 will start show from 7nd slide. How you think is it OK or maybe I ought to add special option which will block this ability by default, if it's not correct? In v4.40 you will able to edit several selected slides. It possible to assign some effect for all selected slides, but keep all another individual different parameters. I'm working now on many new features for new version. Also v4.40 will be more friendly in moving folder with project files to another PC. If you have one folder with various sub-folders inside. It can be easily transfered to another place or PC. About synchronization. What you think if we will link transition points to particular slides? So if you delete some slide, assigned transition point also will be deleted. In case of adding new slide, new point will be added automatically. Rearranging of a transition point will call rearranging of the linked slides. It will very help in work with synchronization.

Hello! I'll very grateful if you could help me with testing in solving of this problem. Apparently PTE couldn't find installed Ulead DMF3. 1) When you visit Open dialog in Ulead DMF3, can you see PicturesToExe Video (.ptev) in the list of file types. Or only .mpg, .avi in this list? 2) Please visit C:\Program Files\PicturesToExe folder and let me know is PteVideo.vio file there in this folder? 3) Open "C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator Trial\vio" folder and let me know if you see there PteVideo.vio file 4) If no file in Ulead folder, but you've found this file in PTE's folder, please copy it to Ulead folder. And restart both programs. Try again with video output feature. Also please can you try the small test application which I'll send you? It will help me to learn why PTE was not able to find Ulead DMF3.

I very apologize about this problem, because I can imagine 2-hour waiting! Yes, I exactly seen this error in previous versions, but v4.31 fixes this bug as I've many times tested on various PCs. 1) It's very simple to reproduce this situan without long waiting. Create such project again, but right after adding of video file (in the Ulead DMF3) move left trackbar to the right (under preview area) to crop video and keep only small fragment nearest from the end. Now you'll reproduce the bug in 10 seconds. 2) Please make sure that v4.31 is correctly installed ("v4.31" text in the caption of main window). 3) Close PTE. Then in the folder: C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 3\vio\ find PteVideo.vio file and delete it. Start PTE again and try to create 4) Now as in p.1 please try to reproduce this bug again. If all work OK, try with full duration of video.

I've printed new pages to the "book" of the suggestions for the next version. It's 40 A4 pages, or 80-page's book! On the next week I'll close work with synchronization and we'll discuss all questions.

Most likely you'll see some error message on starting slide-show if it infected. I've seen such cases. Main shell of PTE also will not work in this case and will show you "File corrupted" message.

Several days ago I've added this option. It will appears in the next version.

I've seen this ""Failed to reuse converted cache file error" error with previous versions. But newest v4.31 (which can be downloaded from our web site) fixes this problem. v4.30 still has the bug, and only with v4.31 all should be OK.

Please try to close both programs and then start PTE, make AVI file (don't close PTE!) and then start Ulead DMF3 and add created .ptev file.

I suppose probably it doesn't exactly emulate x86 platform. At least x86 version of VirtualPC which works on Windows XP can emulate PC where PTE runs without any problem. p.s. By the way, I've seen and worked on PC with first emulator (PearPC) which emulates PowerPC platform and where was installed MacOS X 10.3 Of course, it works very slowely but it works

bbdigital, We already started works on new presentation engine which will appear in v4.50 (version after v4.40). It will allow scaling of objects keeping their proportions. But currently you can use windowed mode or use grouping and check up how you CD menu looks in various screen resolutions (800x600, 1024x768, etc). Granot, It hides TaskBar only during a slide-show and desktop with task bar appears in their usual state when slide-show closes. Or it doesn't work so? P.S. Please excuse me for delays, but I'll answer step by step on all points gradually!

I plan improve work with synchronization in v4.40. And I'll glad to discuss many concerned questions very soon on the forum!

So we have now three translation to the Dutch language Old (current) translation was performed by Marco van Malestijn, but last two years I ask Hans van Klinken about translations of new words. If you all consider that two new translations (by Purist and CorVdK) are better we can remove old Dutch translation and add *BOTH* new variants. I think it will be ideal solution. Inna advised me this idea! I'm very sorry about this a little problem when two new translations were created at one moment! Thank you all both for the long work you've done!

When "Exception EListError in module Cali.exe at <...>. List index out of bounds(0)" message appears on starting of presentation it means that .exe file of slide-show is damaged. Incorrectly uploaded (in this case exe file of any program will not work) or infected by virus. Just I've recently tracked last case, when slide-show didn't work and after my advice user checked up his PC by antivirus and he've found that it was totally infected by various viruses and even Windows XP didn't work rightly (themes of controls were drawn partially). After cleanning, all became OK. Also if you see "File corrupted!" message on try of startup of PTE it means that apr.exe file is damaged. PicturesToExe will never work if some virus infects his apr.exe file.

Please try newest v4.31 which fixes various problems with AVI video output. It's available on our web site.
