  1. I've uploaded new beta #14 which should (I hope) solve that problem. Thank you, Harold!
  2. PicturesToExe v4.10 beta #14 is released http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1.3 Mb) What's new in this beta: * Fixed bug of previous betas with playing synchronized presentation which contains one very large mp3 file (more than 42 minutes). * Fixed bug of previous betas with changing position on the time-line during mp3 playback ("Customize synchronization" window). Rewind to the end of mp3 file added delay in synchronization (about 500 ms.). The bug is fixed now. * Improved sorting of pictures with long path (more than 32 symbols) in the file panel (main window of PicturesToExe). p.s. Bill, please check up how sorting works now. p.p.s. Harold, we've fixed bug in this beta when time-line losed synchronization. Also we're working now to make instant rewinding without any delays on slow PCs. (Please don't worry about delay with rewinding inside long mp3 file in beta #14 - now it doesn't affect on synchronization more.) p.p.p.s. Michel, we've fixed that bug you've told me with previous betas and large (74 min.) mp3. Please write about this to your friend. Thanks!
  3. Hmm, I'm think it's possible technically. The one thing I should learn it's deleting of started external application (extracted as a temp file) if it's still running when user close main application.
  4. Just PTE couldn't open a music file to calculate its duration (probably the music file was busy with work on time-line). Please let me know some details: 1) What state of music player on the time-line (Stoppped, Playing, Paused)? 2) What type of music file (mp3, wav, midi, ogg or wma)? 3) Version of your Windows. 4) Can you repeat this error message with this presentation or another? Thanks,
  5. We've found 3 reasons why the problem occurs. Two are fixed (including case with VBR mp3 file) and we're working to fix last reason. Now synchronization always will be very exact after rewinding. The next beta will be ready today or tomorrow. p.s. I'd like to very thank Harold for his fine attentiveness!
  6. I apologize for this unpleasant bug! Thank you for informing about this. Really rewind at the large mp3 file may takes some time, but synchronization have to be exact. We're already working on it and hope to fix it as soon as possible.
  7. Dana, Thanks, but we ought to learn documentation about EXIF specifications. I'll check it up when will work on the next version.
  8. PicturesToExe v4.10 beta #12 is released http://www.wnsoft.com/apr_beta.zip (1.3 Mb) What's new in this beta: * Fixed bug of previous betas when presentation hangs up on end of mp3 music under Windows 95 (only). * Fixed small bug of previous betas of v4.10. It didn't show preview of transition effect for first slide in the "Customize synchronization" window. p.s. sorry I didn't reply on other messages today yet, because I've worked on this fix.
  9. Thank you, Bill! We'll try to fix this limitation with sorting by filename if full name of a picture more than 32 symbols. p.s. Your knowledges are perfect!
  10. PicturesToExe v4.10 beta #11 is released http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1.3 Mb) What's new in this beta: * Fixed old bug with "Add arranged time points" if length of music more than 42 minutes. * Fixed old bug with sorting by date in the file panel. * Fixed several other minor bugs. + Improved welcome screen of PicturesToExe. + Various improvements. p.s. I hope that it's a release candidate and we'll able to announce final release soon.
  11. Dear Ray, Thanks for good news! I'm glad that all is OK now. Dear Guido, Currently all versions of Windows incorrectly writes and operates with creation date of files. It's strange problem. And all programs, including even Windows Explorer shows *only* date of modification. You can see this - "Name, Size, Type and Modified" (in "Arrange by" menu). I've mistakenely choosed sort by creation time and it doesn't work, because Windows returns incorrect dates of creation. I agree with you that it is not right, but we are not able to fix it. p.s. currently PTE and showed Modified date, but used Creation date for sorting. In the next beta #11 it will has correct sorting by Modified date. And no problem with it, e.g. I opened one my folder with old photographies and they were arranged exactly starting 2002 down to 1993.
  12. I apologize for this old bug with sorting by date in the file panel! But I never known about this problem during last 3,5 years It happened because we had sorting by date of creation (which Windows shows incorrectly). And now I've added sorting by date of last Modification (as in all other programs). Thank you!
  13. Dear Harold, I just fixed this problem! Thanks. I several times seen similar bug not with Slide List but with File list. Can't repeat it to fix, sorry. I'll check up the code of program to find reason.
  14. Ok, in the full screen mode it always will display name of .exe file in the taskbar. And "Caption of window" (opt_scr_caption) if windowed mode. Is it more correct? By the way, in the full screen you can't see taskbar.
  15. So the problem only with old version (4.01) of PicturesToExe? That's strange, because you have wonderful and very fast PC and modern OS! I apologize for this problem. Probably some incompatibility with sound drivers or there are many services in the memory (antiviral software, Norton Utilities etc) with high CPU loading. Please try newest v4.10 beta #10: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1,3 Mb) It's only in two steps before a final release and this version 4.10 contains absolutely new music player.
  16. 1) What version of PTE you have tried? I highly recommend to try again with newest v4.10 beta #10: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip 2) What version of Windows you've installed and frequency of CPU? 3) Where exact the problem occurs - when you run created .exe file of presentation or in the PTE ("Customize synchronization" window)? 4) Is there the problem with previous versions of PTE (4.01 or 3.80)? 5) If beta #10 won't help, please try with several another mp3 files and let me know about result. Thanks,
  17. Ok, then let's try out new beta #10 p.s. taskbar displays name from "Caption of window" (Screen tab). If it's not assigned in beta #10, it will display the name of .exe file.
  18. Ray, I just posted beta #10 which should solve this problem! Please try it out.
  19. PicturesToExe v4.10 beta #10 is released http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1.3 Mb) What's new in this beta: * Fixed several very minor bugs. + Improved work of music player under Windows NT 4.0 + Improved playback of music player in the "Customize Synchronization" window under Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 on slow PCs. + PicturesToExe displays real file name of a project in the caption of the main window. + Updated language files.
  20. What you think, if we remove an abstract (and not used anywhere) project name? As in all other programs, PTE will operate with real file name of opened project file. So after openning of MyPresentation.pte file caption of the main window displays "PicturesToExe v4.10 - MyPresentation". And if you rename this MyPresentation.pte file into MyWork.pte, PTE will display updated name - "PicturesToExe v4.10 - MyWork". p.s. we had been asked many times for this correction
  21. Dear Ray, Thanks! I just reproduced this situation under WinNT 4.0 on PI-233 Mhz. It's may occurs only under WinNT/2000 under such PCs. No problem with Win95/98/XP. I'll make some special optimization for displaying of the time-line (in the "Customize Synchronization" window) and new music player will has enough CPU resources for perfect playback.
  22. So this problem is also solved by beta #9
  23. Beta #9 displays file name of current transition point on the status bar.
  24. Ron, Of course, it possible to make sequence from several .exe files of presentations. Each shows should contains enabled this option. 1st show runs 2nd show, and 2nd runs 1st show and etc. Harold Thank you very much for the help with debugging of exact synchronization! p.s. I'll also check up these two another problems you've described. Bill Thanks for wonderful result! Yes, this abosulely new module for reading .pte project file was developed by Aleksey Elin for beta #9. He also created those PTE's transition effects with smooth line. The new module has similar performance up to 200 slides. And it works in several times faster if presentation has 500 or 1000 or 5000 slides.
