  1. Hi Igor Nice transition. Gogs
  2. Hi Dave Pretty Cool. I like both the style and the idea. I will have a play about with this. I think it helps to sometime just get a little kick start on an idea. Gogs
  3. Hi Dave It works a treat although at first couldn't get it until I realised I was adjusting canvas in pixels instead of %. Doh!. Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this. Gogs
  4. Hi Dave Yes sorry I forgot to mention the border in the first post. That was one of the reasons I did not create the effect with a mask although I know I could have added a white rectangle in the mask to create a border. The real reason for the post was to find out why the crop parameters didn't save in the style. I am not sure if this is because I do not really understand how the crop function works or whether it is a problem within P2E. But thanks for having another look at the problem for me. Gogs
  5. Hi Dave Thanks for having a look at this for me. Both methods you have created work just great. What I forgot to mention in my first post was that I also wanted to have a small border on the top image. When applying a border to both methods suggested they end up out of alignment. I suppose this could be sorted by adjusting the canvas parameters but the crop tool seemed the easiest way to bring them back into alignment. I thought perhaps it was to do with number of main images as originally both images were set to main image 1. I have tried it by creating two main images but the crop tool parameters still do not save within the completed style. Gogs
  6. Hi. Wondering if anyone can help. I was trying to create a repeated animation by creating a style. In objects and animation I have two copies of the same image (working 3:2 format). The background image is full size i.e. zoom 100 x 100 and grayscaled. The top image is sliding in on top at zoom 85x85 in colour, and finishes centre screen. However I want this image to register/align with the background image so that it blends exactly. To do this I used the crop tool on the top image until everything lined up. After this I created it as a style. When reusing the style the crop factor is not retained. I believe I could probably get the same effect using a mask but I was more interested in knowing why the crop parameters are not retained when creating a style. gogs
  7. Hi Igor Thanks for having a look at this. Problem doesn't show in mini player window or in full screen preview, so I can live with it at the moment. Will probably invest in a new graphics card sometime. Barry Thanks for comments as well. Gogs
  8. Hi Igor Thanks for offering to have a look at this for me. Like I said in a previous post this only seems to happen in the O&A screen. I have attached a zip file of one slide with the animation. Thanks again Gogs Animation Problem_Feb4-2014_18-39-47.zip
  9. Hi Barry I tried the sharper/smoother settings and it didn't really help. However I have now noticed that the shimmer/shudder effect only happens in the O&A Screen when on full screen on my computer. If I play in the mini window it is OK so I tried reducing the size of the window when in O&A and it is also Ok no shimmer or shudder. Must be something to do screen resolution or something. Anyway I can live with it if it is only in O&A screen and does not appear in finished slideshows. Gogs
  10. Thanks Guys. Yachtsman, I played you little video clip looks smooth, if I can get that effect I will be happy. Barry, I will try with the sharper/smoother option and see if it cures the effect for me. Gogs
  11. Hi I have just noticed a problem using a simple animation of a slide over a blurred slide. Just discovered this when I was revising an old slide show. So I tried it again using version 8.01 with one background image and another moving across the top of it. In Objects and Animation I have 1 main slide (landscape format) and I bring another (portrait format) in over the top from off screen. Everything is OK but if I apply a blur to the background image the slide coming in shimmers. This happens at any level of blur positive and negative. When I turn the blur off again animation is OK nice and smooth. Using: Windows 7 64bit 8Gb RAM Intel i3 processor Nvidia GeForce G210 512Mb Resolution 1920 x 1080 60Hertz Gogs
  12. Dave Yes I believe they should. And as in my reply to the use of the "toast" icon I believe the defaults should be organised to group together, where appropriate, things that do similar things such as the Preview from start of slide show or preview from this slide for example. Have voted yes. Gogs
  13. I believe it would be better labelled. Users that have been with PTE for some time will be well aware of what this icon does but labelling it would benefit new users. By default the icon appears in the left hand end of the upper toolbar and the full preview mode appears in the right hand end. I know that these can be customised but it would be better if they were grouped together by default and labelled with what it actually does. And here is where confusion may arise for new users. The right click option on the mini player window does not do the same thing as the "toast" icon, but does the same as clicking on the four little arrows at the end of the mini player timeline. The toast icon plays a preview including the transition from the previous image but the right click function only plays the preview from the point that that image fully appears on screen. My vote is for a yes Gogs
  14. Hi Jeff The method I used in the past was very similar to that of yours. I recorded my commentary in Audacity in one pass and then split the audio track into sections and adjusted these on the time line. I did this by opening both PTE and Audacity at the same time and matching where each section of commentary should be in the slideshow. I then added the music and reduced the volume behind each section of commentary. I then saved this as a project file just in case I had to go back and edit. I also then compiled an mp3 track of combined commentary and music and added it to PTE. It has always worked out well for me although as you say if there is a change in the slideshow it was a bit fiddly re-editing the soundtrack. I have not as yet put together a full slideshow with version 8 yet but can see it making things an awful lot easier. The ability to link audio items to specific slides and move these together if necessary will make adding commentary that much easier but the ability to adjust volume directly in the time line is just going to be invaluable to me. There is one area however where I don't think my version of Audacity will become redundant quite yet is the use of the channel input level meters. I wont be able to decide this until I have tried recording directly into PTE. I have seen a few slideshows at my Camera Club by people using other slideshow software and recording commentary directly into that and have always thought that the voice levels were too low. Gogs
  15. Hi Igor Having just got a little confused over numbers apparently have noted the wrong number down. I went back to email from WNsoft when I upgraded Video Builder which was in August to find licence key. Key starts with a D so I loaded it directly to Version 8 and it is activated. I take it that since I upgraded Video Builder in August that I have been able to upgrade to V8 for free. Version 8 runs OK. Thanks for all your hard work in producing such an excellent product. Gogs
  16. Hi Igor Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I will give it a try in the next hour or so. Gogs
  17. Hi Igor I am keen to take the opportunity of upgrading to version 8 D-Lux. I am currently running version 7.5. I have two registration numbers one for PTE and one for video builder. As video builder is only in the D-Lux version is that the registration number I need to give when upgrading or is that simply the reg key for video builder itself. My reg key for PTE is in the format XXXXXXXXX-XXXXX-XXX (i.e. 10 characters followed by 5 then 3). Video Builder key format is XXXXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX (i.e. 10 characters followed by 4 then 6) My original key for PTE prior to this was in the format of an exe file. Gogs
  18. PUZZLE STYLE Based on the old children's puzzle where you move tiles around in a frame to make the correct picture. Add one 3:2 format image and apply the style. It can be repeatable with a number of slides. Gogs Puzzle.ptestyle
  19. Hi Dave Many thanks for taking the time to solve the problem I had with making this slide style repeatable over a number of slides and perhaps now, with credit to you, others might find a use for it. On my own part I will tinker with the animation of the outgoing slide on the right but I don't see any problem with the incoming one on the left, I'll just leave that the way it is. Once again thanks for all your help. Gogs
  20. Hi Guys Thanks for the comments. I think I have been a bit over ambitious for a first attempt. The idea started a while back as the basis for a template that was never really finished. I thought that making it a style would maybe make it easier to use until I found that I couldn't find a way to add more images. I guess it is back to the drawing board until I can properly get my head around creating styles which are a great addition to P2E. Igor I think version 8 is going to be absolutely fantastic and this is one user who is more than grateful for all the hard work you and your team have put into it. Gogs
  21. This is my first attempt at creating a style. It is in 3:2 format and needs 7 images. However I am not quite sure how to extend it beyond 7 images perhaps someone can give me some advice. GogsCarousel.ptestyle
  22. Hi There If you look in this forum under the heading Slideshows Created in Pictures to Exe and click on the small blue type underneath that says Templates. You might find some help in there as well as links to templates you can use. Also you could visit www.thedom.fr where there is a lot of templates that can be downloaded for free as well as some very good templates to buy. You also get full instructions on how to use them in a slideshow. Hope this is helpful. Gogs
  23. Hi Xaver and Peter, thanks for helping clarify that. I must have come across this before as I have made a number of slideshows bith inserting and deleting slides but don't recall having noticed the effect when deleting from the timeline. I must just have been fortunate in deleting from the slide list or else must have just rearranged things on the time line without taking much notice. It only came about this time when doing a tutorial for a friend who has just got P2E and I was kind of stumped for an answer as to why this was happening. So thanks again for your help. Gogs
  24. Hi I have not really noticed this before but there appears to be an inconsistency between the slide view and timeline view when removing or deleting slides. As an example if you have say 4 slides each with a time of 10 seconds (In this example no transitions although the same thing happens with or without transitions). In the slide view remove a slide using the X button on the bottom toolbar, say slide 2, and you are left with 3 slides each of 10 seconds a thirty second slide show. However switch to the timeline view and do the same thing and slide 1 becomes 20 seconds with the other 2 at 10 seconds each, a 40 second slide show. I have checked this back and the same thing happens in versions 6.5 and 7. I know that all the remaining slides could be collectively repositioned to the left by ten seconds to match up again but I am wondering if there is a logical reason for the way this happens. I don't recall having seen a discussion topic on it previously. Would be grateful if anyone can shed some light on it. Gogs
  25. Igor thank you for your patience and help. I am not sure how I managed to end up with a WAV file extension on an Mp3 file so I will kind of explore that so that I don't make the same mistake again. The input to this forum and the fact that the developer of the software is so readily willing is what makes PTE the leading application for creating slideshows. Thanks again. Gogs
