Hi Igor I have copied project to Dropbox. It is the complete project but I have removed the images as it is a camera club project and the images are not all mine and i realise this is a public post. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/65720089/Lost%20Sound_Feb15-2013_9-38-12.zip The zipped file also contains the exe file in which the sound does not play. There are two tracks with two sound files in the first (both Wav)and on the second track an Mp3 file. The second sound file on track one (i.e. Speak Teri) is a commentary recorded in Acoustica some time ago, the other two sound files were recorded in Audacity. Given that I have tried recreating the problem with other sound files and mixing Wav and Mp3 and cannot recreate the problem. I am convinced that the problem must be due to one or more of the files in my project and not related to PTE which I am a committed fan of having been using it since version 4. Gogs

Hi Dave There were two tracks. Track one had two sound files both Wav, and Track 2 one sound file Mp3. I have replied to Igors post with a zip file of the complete project which was causing the problem. I have tried recreating it with different files mixing both Wav and Mp3 and can't recreate the problem so feel the problem must lie with one or more of my files. Gogs

Hi Barry Thanks for the reply. I seem to have solved the problem myself although I am not sure if it was just luck. I did drag the music in via Project Options Audio but noticed that I had a mix of Wav and Mp3. Converted all to Mp3 and re-dragged the music in again after having deleted original files. Now seems to work OK. If that had not worked then I would probably have gone back to mixing down my music tracks in Audacity as I have always done before. However I thought the P2E was moving on by allowing the use of multi music tracks and drag and drop. I am a bit disappointed it did not work and will probably go back to using Audacity in the meantime to see if the P2E route becomes more stable in future releases. Gogs

Hi Hoping somebody can point me in the right direction. I have just made up a slideshow in v7.5.4 with two music tracks. one piece on one track and two pieces spaced on another track. Everything works fine in preview mode but when I publish to Exe file there is no sound playing. Have tried opening the show in v7.0 and it opens fine and plays OK in preview mode but again when publishing to Exe file no sound. Has anyone come across this before or am I missing something. Gogs

Hi Further to my last post I have been experimenting some more. Opened the album template in pte6.5 and the problem with the line just isn't there. Checked the pan coordinate for object next page and it is 27 same as it is when opened in v7.0 and v7.5. What the problem appears to be to me is that when an object is zoomed to its lowest point in left hand i.e. 0.001 it still shows as a line whereas in version 6.5 it is invisible. I tried this by adding a rectangle on the template in v7.0 and zooming down (left box only) to 0.001 and it appeared as a line. Doing same in v6.5 and can't see it. I am therefore not sure if this is an issue with V7 and v7.5 rather than the Dom's template. Gogs

Hi After reading your post I decided to have a look at the template I also bought from the Dom some time ago. I opened it in pte7.0 and saw the same line appear when playing a preview of the template. I tried the solution suggested by Mary but while the line disappears in the preview the actual transition from page 1 to page 2 is not quite correct. You can see this more clearly in the O&A window. Page 1 folds over but at the mid point of the transition between pages page one shows through underneath page 2 as it turns. Gogs

Hi Gary I have just got around to downloading and trying BB Flashback Express. It appears that you are unable to edit any screen recorded movies unless upgrading to the standard or pro version. I like the highlighted cursor and the fact that you can record longer than the 5 minutes allotd by Jing. But I find the play back screen a bit of a distraction across the top with all the raw data particularly as it seems to be of no direct use when you cannot edit it. I have not as yet tried editing in other software yet. I think I will continue to play with it meantime but at the moment do not think I will register at the end of the thirty day period. Jing still my favourite at the moment. Gogs

Hi Gary Glad that you found Jing to be OK. I have not come across any software, as yet, for converting .swf files to AVI or MPEG. I am sure that there will be something out there though. I like Jing but felt that the 5 minute max was a bit tight so I might also look at BB Flashback. Gogs

Hi When searching this forum looking for advice on screen recording software for creating tutorials I came across an old thread that goes back to 2007/08 and noticed a few people were interested in this. Since ther has been no further mention of this topic I wondered if those people had found what they were looking for. If not then they might want to look at Jing a free piece of software that is part of TechSmiths Camtasia. I have downloaded it certainly seems to be a great piece of software that can capture screen movement in video with sound or capture still images (i.e. defined portions of your screen). The resultant video is in only in flash format .swf but if you want to upgrade to the pro version (for something like $15 per year) you can also record MEPG4. Hi I have made a sound test for the Samson GoMic in both Cardioid and Minus 10db setting. You will note a slight background noise in the cardioid setting which will be the slight hum coming fropm the laptop. However this is eliminated in the sample at the end which is recorded on the minus 10db mode. This is the mode I would use for adding commentary to slideshows. Audio file is in WAV mode Gogs

Hi Yachtsman I will try and post some samples. However I have never attached anything in a post yet and will need to figure out how best to do that (i.e. just an mp3 sample or avi with some pics of the mic etc). Hi Tony I have just got the Samson GoMic and have been trying it out. It is condensor microphone with three settings for direct Cardioid recording and omni directional. Has a USB connection and can be used clipped to the top of a laptop or just sat on your desk with a PC. Costs around £35 to £40 depending on where you buy. I think the quality and calrity of recording is excellent. My use is primarily to add commentary to slideshows. Gogs

Hi Stu Thanks for the advice. I can open the image snapshot in the windows Picture Fax Viewer. However I have just realised after having played a bit more with Objects Box (which I should have done before posting my problem) that as it is sitting right there on top of the full screen P2E objects and animation screen that I can se exactly what I am copying anyway. I will put it down to a senior moment but thanks anyway for your help and a great utility. gogs

Hi nobeefstu I have downloaded and tried Objects Box and it is agreat utility. The only thing is that the objects box appears very small on the screen and I am barely able to read the objects list in any slide image. Is this a problem with the download or due to screen resolution which is set to 1900 x 1080 on a 22 inch widescreen LED monitor. I have been unable to find a way to increase the size of the box on screen. I would be grateful for any advice you may have. gogs

I have found a solution to the problem of being left with a black and white image. This is in Photoshop CS. Not sure if it is the best approach but it works. Create duplicate layer of the image you want to extract. Use the GML GrowCut Mask, refine borders etc and click finish. On black white image select the white and delete the selection. You will now see the image you wanted to extract on a black background. It will still have the selection line around it. Switch back to the first layer or background layer and do edit copy, edit paste and your selection will be placed on a new layer with a transparent background. Delete the other layers (or just switch them off) then save as a png file. gogs

Hi Ron Thanks for sending a copy of your excellent tutorial for scrolling text. I had been able to create few effects in version 5 including text but it was mostly by trial and error and I was never really quite sure ho I had managed to create what I had. Your tutorial has certainly helped to clarify how the new objects and animation functions work. Many thanks gogs
