  1. Yes, Rick - Barry has somewhat recently become a fairly consistent participant in the forum here. He is here as bbdigital By the way, it is good to hear from you again. I was noticing just recently a very early Truelight show you had shared. A long time ago.
  2. Granot - I have now tried your cut/paste/dummy file maneuvers. I have also tried a few similar of my own. None has worked here. I think it is not possible to outsmart the internal code of your program and Explorer. Perhaps the above quote from Bill, is a pointer to the real answer?
  3. I think there may be a better solution to this. Maybe we need to call for help from some of our other out-of-the-box thinkers. Bill? Nobeefstu? Al? Others? There must be a way to overcome such a simple solution. Simple becomes tedious when working with even 20 files, let alone the 100 or so that your program can otherwise handle so well. Anyone up to the challenge to really solve this one?
  4. Would you care to share what type of projects you do with PTE?
  5. Oh Granot - Yes, I had previously viewed the "secret" under Alt-N. But the new-expanded-updated-intensified secret is even better. I think that is a fine added feature. I had silently thought - if I were going to use your utility to distribute PTE shows to a friend, lack of such a feature would be a drawback. So with your latest brain wave addition, I am pleased. I may even have to consider sending some $ if you want to email me how much would be appropriate for the expanded custom version. Meanwhile - I have found either a bug, or an unexpected behavior. Here goes: I ran All_EXE in a folder on my hard drive. Folder contains about 30 shows. Your program brings them up in alphabetic order. BUT, when I then add new shows to the same folder, and re-run All_EXE, it always lists the added shows last. Changing the new shows names, re-sorting with explorer, etc. does not solve. Does this have to do with some kind of cache that your program creates the first time it runs? It would seem to be much better to have subsequently-added shows to be included in the next alpha sort.
  6. Here, here, - an enthusiastic congratulations and thanks to Al. YOU, have done a great service with this one. The talk from many has become a reality from you. I have only viewed a portion so far. Already I see it has great info for beginners and experienced users alike. From what I have seen/heard so far, this appears a must for everyone. I admire your ability to keep a project like this so organized both in content and presentation. Thank you.

  8. Another kudo to you Granot. This little gem works slick. Only caution I might suggest is, when running from CD, click show only once and be patient. Just for fun, I clicked away and had about six or eight shows running at once. Surprisingly, I was able to escape one-by-one and ended up with a single PTE show runnning and your All_Exe also still running properly!
  9. Sure Stu. If you can send me the newest version, that may save us some diagnostic effort. The version I am using does say Version 1.5. I don't remember whether it came off Beechbrook or directly from you. I'll fire off an email to you in case my address is not at your fingertips. Thank you for your efforts.
  10. With some reluctance I re-enter this topic after two months. But, now, with an actual need for this ScreenPrints program, I can not get it to work. Nobeefstu - your (always) quality work is evident as I run the program. The instructions are clear, the screens are attractive, but I can't capture any slides. Your program seems to run all the way, but the result screen always shows 0 of 0 slides selected. I have tried pressing the Print Screen keyboard button and also Shift-PrintScreen buttons, to no avail. Normally, my PrintScreen button calls Hardcopy Pro for a screen grab. So I reset my startup to avoid that, but I still can't get a capture in your program. Any ideas what I might look to do differently to get it to work?
  11. Further comments on Al's eyesight or geographical wanderings can be found in a new topic in the Presentations subject area of this forum. The new topic is found there as Geography on the Loose.
  12. In another thread, Al Robinson and I good naturedly jostled about New Zealand, Colorado and Utah. I must now concede that Al (at home in Canada) for sure knows more about our western United States than I know about our good neighbor Canada. I probably know more about Europe than I do about Canada. On the other hand, it is always fascinating to realize how little some residents of the eastern United States know about the places and people out west. Sometimes it seems like folks on either coast think there is just a void between the oceans. Maybe this is hard to understand for our friends in other parts of the world where countries and cultures are more compacted geographically. This subject gives me excuse to say how much I personally enjoy seeing the presentations from so many of you from so many locations around the world. Sure there has always been plenty of info available about the many flavors of the world. But to me, it is often much more interesting to get the personal touch that comes from photographers who use PTE. I remember the first few PTE shows being from Lithuania, Russia, Argentina, Chile. It's simply great. Now the last two shows posted on Beechbrook, Bohemian Rhapsody and Colours bring again this point to light. Michel's fine shows and friendly attitude are just another example. I can't name them all, but I would like to thank everyone who posts their shows and participates in this forum. It's a great way to enjoy the geography and the great people of this planet. Now, if there are lurkers out there with photographic evidence of where you live or travel, there are many who would like to enjoy with you.
  13. Very nice show Mike. Of course, Fields of Fire is one of my all-time favorites. So naturally I knew this Bohemian Rhapsody presentation would be very well done. Before watching the show, I did sort of expect the soundtrack to be either the original Bohemian Rhapsody or the more recent rock version. But I prefer the music you did use for this show. I'd also mention I think Ron's little adaptation was clever. With such capability now built into PTE, we can easily package any presentation to our preference. I guess it would be possible to also make "unauthorized" modifications that might degrade or at least alter the intent of the author? I think though it is a nice feature that is unlikely to be harmfully used by anyone.
  14. And to me Al, Colorado is East. This side of the Rockies is called Utah.
  15. Hi Cindy, It sounds like Al may be trying to give me credit for Andrew's (ADB's) show Southern Autumn. My show Sunset Peak was posted about the same time. So, I may not really have the proper credentials for answering. (Thanks anyway Al.) I will just ad to Al's comments that experimenting with your fade effect duration may help find the best possible smoothness for your machine. Also, some slides themselves make a difference. That is color complexity and light to dark vs dark to light slide sequences can make a difference. This could explain in some instances why Andrew's fades are so smooth vs. those on your own show. I did enjoy very much your sample show. Your art talent comes through just fine, but the fades on my particular machine did flutter just enough to detract from your great picture creations.
  16. Al, I think your suggestion got even better when I read the simple solution you suggest. I think with that solution, I could agree and say "why not. Just maybe, someone, will suggest a "why not."
  17. Great, nothing better than a happy, tears-to-the-eyes grump. Now we look forward to seeing some of your fun work. Have you been to Beechbrook.com to find many shows to view and a place to post yours if you desire?
  18. This one I really like. I seldom used frames and almost never made one myself. I think this idea of yours may be favorite of many. And you are right, that there should be some great frames come from this talented group.
  19. Welcome Grumpy. Hope you don't stay that way very long with this great program. Let's start with the basics to make sure you are trying the right things: On main PTE screen, open your "project" file. On main screen select Project Options/Music In the music window, check the "Play background music" Then browse to insert you desired music files in the music window space. Click OK. Now, back at main screen, press Preview in lower left section. Is that what you are doing - and still no sound? If yes, and still nothing. Try the same thing with different mp3 files that you have previously tested as playing ok on your computer. If still no music in PTE, then let us know again/more. Good luck, and remember to enjoy the journey.
  20. Yes Igor. Your ideas are well supported with the comments and needs of many users. I especially think Nobeefstu's suggestion would be worthwhile option. Thank you for your continuing improvement of this favorite program.
  21. Granot - I tried Restore PTE utility. I can tell it works. But I don't understand how to use it. I ran it first, just as it came "out of the box." I did not set any parameters or anything. It restored a .pte file for my Sunset Peak show and opened PTE 4.12 with that (Sunset Peak) project named as "Restored". I don't know why it came up with that. How am I supposed to use Restore PTE to reclaim a project file for, say, "Lost Pix.exe" ?
  22. Yup - mortgate money and pills - You'd think in this day of sophisticated computerized demographic techniques they could send this stuff only to those individuals who actually need them!?
  23. I have tried this one Granot. It works here. Another "amazing" result for those of us that don't understand how you do it. Brief comments beyond "it works": It works welland simply Your scroll defintions for up down are reversed from the way I think it. I did observe only minor flutter or wiggle on the trailing edge of the moving image. This seemed to be a problem of my PC's graphic power (lack of). When I ran your scroll in a more demanding PTE show of mine, the moving image stretched occasionally along the trailing edge. I could see this utility could be a nice way for someone to run an "advertisng" banner across any desired segment of their show. Now that is a horrifying thought - pop-ups and banner ads across our shows! Bottom line: Good work and great response for the member who has a "need" right now.
  24. The timer is on Granot . And when do you make a utility to keep track of all your utility programs? You are amazing.
  25. Life is life. Good is good. Fun is fun. Wonderful is Wunderbar Another great show from the Team. Thank you for sharing.
