Ken I take your point. Are you inferring that the computer (Window XP) can be "set up to autorun" CD's or not. If so, where are the settings? Is that the reason why the simple autorun method that I tried, did not work? Regards RM

I am back on the subject of Autorun on a CD. I have followed the instruction in the PTE help file, ie [autorun] open=my show.exe icon=my show.exe Saved as autorun.inf and copied with my show.exe file on to the CD. When I put the CD in the computer expecting the show to start directly, up pops Windows dialogue box requesting "What do you want to do with this CD,etc" I have read various threads on the forum, but they don't seem to refer to this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. RM

I have made a intro screen image of buttons in Photoshop to introduce a series of PTE sequences i.e run applications. When I create Objects over the buttons in PTE (with the transparent box ticked and no text entered)I get a thin white rectangular border around the transparent box which covers the image button. I have tried making the background colour the same as the button, but it still has the white border. Any suggestions how to omit the PTE white object border? This omission will be necessary if I make the buttons any shape other than rectangular. Boogie

Hi Ken I have used both a slide scanner (Acer Scanwit2720S) and a slide copier (Digital Duplicator from Mike Woolnough of Imatronic) with my Minolta A1 camera. My experience is that there is very little difference in image quality between the two when using the images for AV at 1024 x 768. I do copy at the highest resolution possible, then reduce image size in the computer after any manipulation. There is a distinct advantage in using a copier for initial cost and speed of copying to get the images into the computer. The camera can make adjustments for contrast, colour balance, light source, etc. as well as when in the computer. Best of luck.

I am, as others, delighted with v4.30, particularly with the Light table feature that allows me to visually sort the pictures into any order with "drag and drop" I was mystified when I tried to sort my initial folder of pictures (file panel - keyboard F3). The highlighted picture could be dragged (and looked semi transparent) but could not be dropped into a new position. After some experiments, I discovered that only pictures in the slide list (slide list - keyboard F4) can be dragged AND dropped with a light blue square showing where the drop occurs. To initially sort all of my folder pictures into some sort of order (drag and drop) and delete unwanted ones, I added (Cntrl + A) all the file panel pictures to slide list, then (with F4) sorted and deleted pictures till I got a manageable slide list. Am I missing a way of sorting my file list with drag and drop? With the Light table and Waveform showing, PTE just gets better and better. Boogie

I know this is not really a question relating to PTE, but this forum is so helpful for PTE users!! I want to advertise a PTE created AV show with the use of a "banner" approximately 600mm long and 200mm deep on an A4 printer using cut paper or card. The 200mm width is OK but I have not yet found how to print a sheet longer than the standard A4 length. I use Serif Plageplus and Microsoft Word. I have created a 600mm wide page in PlagePlus, but can only print out a section after rotating the page through 90 degrees. Does anyone know how to print off banners on an A4 printer using "continuous" paper? Is any special software required? Boogie

To Lief Thank very much for you hint. I realise now that I was using the Create exe button all the time at the bottom left of the PTE screen. Now that I know to use File/Create Slideshow as .... ( or F8) as is OK. It is great to have a World wide forum for help with problems. Boogie

Hi, everyone. I am a newcomer, so hope the following has not been asked before. PTE v4.2. I create a "show1" exe file OK. Then reload "show1" project file, make a few changes and save as "show2". Close PTE, reopen PTE and reload "show2"project file. Create exe file, thinking I will get "show2" exe file. But no, I get a "show1" exe file overwriting the old "show1" exe file. This is worrying as I do not get a "show2" exe file (I have to rename the new "show1" exe file) and I also lose my original "show1" exe file unless I have renamed it or moved it to another folder. Any help or is it a program problem? Boogie
