  1. Thanks for the suggestion Dave - I think I understand your mask treatment. I have in mind a video clip of persons running or birds flying across a separate still image background or layer (completely different to the original video background)? The mask would be a moving "halo" around the above examples. I can foresee limitations but I will experiment. The creation of a png file with Photoshop and selections are relatively easy with a plain background! Boogie
  2. Now we are getting into using video with PTE V7, is it possible to edit a video to play with a transparent background similar to *.png format in a still photo. Recording using a "Green screen" comes to mind, but is that for the high end studios and software? Video is a new world to me and I imagine a lot of other PTE users! Boogie
  3. Igor I have sent Zip file to Mediafire and link to support@wnsoft.com I have not used Mediafire before and found it a bit confusing. If it does not arrive please reply and I will try again. Boogie
  4. Using PTE V7 beta 11 or 12. I copy a .wmv video clip 21 seconds long (when played in Windows media player ) from a folder on to a New Project slide list. On the slide list tab, it shows the clip to be 17.885 seconds long (including the initial fade in time). The last 3 seconds are missing when played with PTE. (No missing end when played with Wdws Media Player) Why has approx 3 seconds of the video clip been chopped off the end with PTE? Boogie
  5. Hi Lin Thanks for the info. I will give them a try. Boogie
  6. thedom/davegee/Lin Great advice from the experts!! That has saved me a lot of heartache if I had gone on route 1 and the sequence was all jerky or would not run. I was wondering on how to split into sections, so thanks Lin for the "slice" suggestion. Much appreciated advice. Boogie
  7. I am starting to create a sequence that involves a long panoramic image approx 15,000 pixels long by 1080 high. The motion of the panoramic image (in O&A) involves stopping at various points with keypoints to introduce other superimposed images and possibly video, and recommencing motion again to the next stopping point. The question is what is the best and most economical use of computer resources and memory (particularly with lower spec computers)? Should I:- 1) Leave the panoramic image as one long image in O&A stopping and starting as necessary i.e. make the sequence all in one "slide". or, 2) Split the panoramic image into numerous "slides" or sections (when the panoramic image motion is stopped) and change to the next section with an overlap and cut transition. Any advice would be appreciated. Boogie
  8. Sheila That was excellent, I really enjoyed it and the Square and D frames for the verticals was a great way to handle them - something a bit different. My only suggestion would be for you to lower the volume of the music more during the voiceover as, for me, the voiceover got mixed too much with the music - although, I did like the Yorkshire, or was it Lancashire, accent!! Good show! Boogie
  9. George Version 1 for me. Nice effect. I quite expected the "box" to start revolving in 3D with some more pictures! Perhaps version 3!!! Suggest you disable the cursor during show. - Project Options/Advanced/ "Hide mouse cursor during show" Cheers Boogie
  10. Lovely sequence, Maureen. Beautiful scenery skilfully captured. I too, would have liked an extra second or so to linger on some of the outstanding pictures. I loved the music, so appropriate to the pictures. Can you tell me where "Rachel's Song" came from? It is the type of music that enhances a sequence. Thanks for sharing. Boogie
  11. Problem solved!! Isn't it great when we have such knowledgable members on the forum!! Many thanks - I should never have doubted Igor brilliant programme! Boogie
  12. Hi Ralph I attach a zip file with the problem. Windows XP with PTE v 6.5 Single slide with "button" and Text "1" the 2 active buttons both to change from initial colour (Black on 'button', white on '1') to red when cursor passes over them. Both buttons are set to 'run sequence' when clicked The button take 3 passes before locking up to red and the '1' takes 4 passes before locking up to red. Once locked up, neither button will change colour again until I run the preview again. Hope you can solve the problem. Many thanks Boogie Intro 6.5_Dec4-2010_10-52-24.zip
  13. Lin Evans gave a excellent video tutorial (in March 2010) on changing the colour of text on a button when hovering the cursor over the button. I am now using this method for a menu page with buttons and text (the 3 colour change works with both buttons with text and text on its own). A strange thing happens which appears to be a bug, when previewing the settings. If the mouse cursor hovers twice over the button or text, the colour changes as set, say from black (1) to red (2). On the third time the cursor moves over the button the colour changes to the red (2) and remains red. If the cursor is then moved over another button, its colour does not change to the red (2). The designated function on clicking on the button or text still works as set If it is a bug, perhaps Igor can pick this up. The version I am using is v6.5.3. Can anyone else demonstrate this or how to overcome this apparent bug? Thanks Boogie
  14. Nobeefstu Thanks, problem solved! I noticed that the up/down arrows operate differently in other locations, e.g. Objects & Animations. Cheers Boogie
  15. I have just discovered that the Running time (Box next to the Timed Points box on the Main screen) can no longer to adjusted with the up/down arrows next to the time shown. The up/down arrows flash when clicked, but no change is made to the time. Has this facility been withdrawn? If so, why are the arrows there? Boogie
  16. Problem solved!!!! Thanks for the method. I can now load the converted colour image into PTE. As this seems be be a restriction on PTE image inputs, is this a solution that could be useful to future users and placed in FAQ's? I will leave it to fh1805 to decide. Thanks again for the prompt response Boogie
  17. Photoshop 7 Serif Photoplus 11 Irfanview v4.25 Boogie
  18. Thanks Jim, Next question is - how do I change the image to RGB
  19. Thanks for very swift reply. Attached 1 image that will not load correctly in PTE. PS for Ken, Tried rename .JPG - no change, in fact all the orig images were .JPG
  20. I have a folder of Jpeg images that will display correctly when opened in Photoshop, Wdws Fax viewer, Irfanview, etc. When I open the same folder (using the file view) in PTE v 6.0 (&ver 4.8), almost all the images are black and white and a bit stripey in appearance. I tried reinstalling v6.0, with no improvement I attach a Word doc file that shows the print screen view of the folder used. Any advise would be appreciated Boogie ScreenPrint of Jpegs.doc
  21. Problem solved!! I went to ATI website and downloaded and installed their ATI Catalyst Control Panel for my graphics card. The Control Panel now starts when I right click on the decktop and gives me similar controls to the Nvidia Control Panel previously discussed. The controls are not as easy to impliment as the Nvidia example that Scorpion gave me but I have been able get the wide screen that I wanted. I now have a "desktop" 3360 x 1050 so it is back to PTE to create my panorama show, Thanks to all for your help. Boogie
  22. Thanks Ken I had a look there and despite very detailed info, I could not see anything relating to my problem. I just got lost in the text jungle!
  23. Scorpion Many thanks for the info. That is exactly what I want to do. Unfortunately, I have a Radeon 9950 graphics card on my desktop computer and a Nvidia Geforce FX Go5600 card in my laptop (which I would use for a panoramic slide show. On neither of the computers, when I right click on the desktop, is an option you describe to a Graphics card control panel. The only way I can extend the display to 2 monitors is (XP) Control Panel Display Settings - ticking box - "Extend my Wdws desktop onto this monitor" When I do this my desktop is repeated on the second monitor. I can only use this second monitor by clicking and dragging a "windowed box" across. I cannot get a "widescreen" solution you describe. Your (Nvidia) Graphics Card Control Panel options seems to be what I want (particularly on the laptop "show" computer). Is there a way of a widescreen control with my current cards? Boogie
  24. JPD I have not made much progress. My graphics card has 2 outputs so I have connected 2 monitors (No.1- 1680 x 1050, No2- 1280 x 1024) and set WindowsXP to extend the desktop to show across the 2 monitors. With PTE I created a slide show with images 2960 x 1024. The PTE project options (Under Screen Tab) are: Full Screen, Aspect ratio - Custom, Size slide - 2950x1024 and ticked box Fixed size of slide. My objective is to have a panoramic show across a wide screen using 2 projectors run from 1 computer PTE exe file, that is, single images say 2960 x 1024 (half the image from each projector - lefthand and righthand). When I come to Preview the show it gives me the option to preview on monitor 1 or 2, whereas I want it across 2 monitors (or 2 projectors if I connect them instead of the monitors). When I create an exe file it only runs on 1 monitor. Do I need another graphics card (or USB VGA Adaptor)? Any suggestions please, with the above information, to achieve my objective. Thanks Boogie
  25. Peter Many thanks. I tried both your suggestions and found the 2nd one the easiest - mainly because I keep the sequence info all under 1 main folder. Re the Zip option, I realise now ( with your help) that I had to "Extract all" (Right click) on the zip file and direct it to the folder on the second computer. I could then open the PTE file from the new folder with no missing files. Thanks again for your (and Ken) prompt reply. As this procedure doesn't seem to appear in the PTE v6.0 pdf user guide, is it a question that would be useful to others in the FAQ section? Boogie
