  1. I followed JPD's excellent 'Ellipse' Tutorial on TheDom's Sharing place showing how to create an ellipse with a 'planet' travelling elliptically around a cental 'planet'. I am now trying to get 5 'planets' rotating around a central 'planet' on the same elliptical path. I thought it would be simply an extension of the demo, but after lots of trying - I am seeing 'Stars'!!! I can get 5 'planets' on different paths, but not the same path. Can anyone help me with the above before I go into orbit myself!! Boogie
  2. Well done Al I hope Igor will respond some time in the future. Even to put it on the Wish list. Boogie
  3. KSF Many thanks for that tip - a really good idea - an example of lateral thinking!! Boogie
  4. Hi Thedom That is a shame if no indicator is possible. Was Igor saying that every slide has O & A applied to it by default. Is it not possible to indicate when there is any change from 'the default' position? Cheers Boogie
  5. A note for Igor I am begiining to appreciate the power of O & A effects in V5. Well done Igor and team. I have created O & A effects on several slides in a sequence. On the main screen and timeline, I can see no indicator (or visual 'flag') that there are any O & A's applied on a particular slide. Is it on the "wish list" for V5? If not, it would be very useful to have an indicator to help remind me where O & A effects have been created. It could be similar to the 'P' box against the 'Customise Sllde' box which indicates where Transition effects have been applied - perhaps next to the 'O & A' box. Whilst on the subject of 'indicators' (or flags), could the 'P' box next to the 'Customise Slide' box be made more noticeable when a slide effect has been applied? I find the current slightly darker grey 'highlight' not very noticeable when a special effect is applied. Do any other users have the same problems or suggestions? Eagerly awaiting V5.9 with the sound sync. Thanks
  6. There are some really clever people on this forum!!! Many thanks to Al and Lin I will try out both ways, they sound really good and just what I want. Cheers Boogie PS for Tomuk Excuse my ignorance, what does LOL mean? ?Lots Of Love!!! I have just tried your zip file and it is just what I wanted Many thanks again - so simple when how know how and you do!!! Best regards Boogie
  7. In v5 I see I can set in Animation the amount of Rotation, however, I am trying to rotate a png image around a central point, but I want the image to remain "vertical". For example: A upright person to stay upright as it rotates around a given point. I would appreciate any information as to how I can do this. Thanks Boogie
  8. Igor I see that the change was needed because of programming problems. It just needs adjusting to the new version after so many times using the "old" system. Al Good point. I would not have thought of that!! It just goes to show, like Photoshop, there is more than one way of skinning a cat! Perhaps the tutorials for the new version should introduce the correct terminology of "cut" as opposed to a "quick fade" and explain how one can obtain a "cut". (? note for all the clever people who are writing the V5 tutorials) Boogie
  9. Lin Thanks for that. I have got it to work. It seems a bit strange that one can set defaults for all the transitions except "Quick" and for "Quick" one has to have no transitions set. Is it assumed that "Quick" is no longer a transition? Boogie
  10. I don't know when it disappeared, but the Quick transition in Project Options/Effects has gone in V5 beta 8. Is no longer possible to set Quick transitions as a Global setting? Is it hidden somewhere else? It is a very useful Global setting which I would miss if unavailable now. It is available still as a Customised setting on individual slides. Boogie
  11. John Well done, it will be very useful the next time I do a bit of AV judging. Boogie
  12. Very good idea. I wanted it to continue!! Perhaps I will have to come to the Camera Club!! RM
  13. Hi bjc Many thanks - the above guide was just what I wanted and I have run the tutorial from start to end. The tutorial is very helpful and well constructed. I learnt a lot, even on the first run through. All I have to do now is run it a few times to "clear the mud" (your End note)!! The video format is a great way for presenting tutorials. Thanks again Boogie
  14. Hi bjc I have managed to download your tutorial, and can run individual .swf sections, ie 'intro', Step1,2,3,4, but am unable to run them continuously. I tried running PTE-VERSION5.swf but got a blank screen. Any suggestions. Thanks Boogie
  15. Hi Lin Part 2 - Great tutorial and nice and clear. I like the way the cursor is flashed with a circle to show where the cursor is. I look forward to Part 3 to incorporate the Starwars text into PTE. Hope you will also cover the way to apply the same effect with the PTE program (as noted above). Regards Boogie
  16. Hi Lin Great tutorial - nice and clear! Just waiting for the next instalment! Cheers Boogie
  17. Hi Ron Thanks for the excellent tutorial. I endorse all the above favourable comments and look forward to the next instalment!! Hopefully the "Starwars" effect and the zoom. Roger M
  18. Sorry - need help! I have tried to run the PTE Project file and get the message:- "Project files created with PTE v1.00 - v 1.60 are not supported now" Any solution? Thanks Boogie Ooops!! Found my mistake. I tried to run the rectangles project in PTE v4.46. Runs fine in v5.00 #2 Boogie
  19. Igor, RENAME IMAGES in v5 Problem with renaming images. I do not know if this problem has been raised already, but it is as follows:- Objects and Animation screen Open FIRST image and rename in Name panel - no problem. Open second image (by right click in grey area). Adjust size of new object (shift + mouse drag) Properties - Click on default name 'image' to edit Edit 'image' name to new name 'XXX' -- 'image ' name in OBJECTS panel does NOT change to new 'XXX' Found way to solve problem, namely:- Click on 'image ' in Objects panel, then click on 'XXX' in Name panel. Start to edit 'XXX' in Name panel and 'image' in Objects panel changes from 'image' to edited 'XXX'
  20. Hi Lin What a great job you did for us P2E V5 "beginners" with your tutorial http://www.lin-evans.net/p2e/index.html. It really was what I wanted. Please can you update it to add more and explain some more of the features. Couple of suggestions for Igor - 1. It would be nice to have a "Close" button on the Objects page (rather than use the red/white cross at top right hand corner) - I hunted for a while to find a way to get back to the Main Front screen. 2. On the Main Front screen have an indicator against any slide that has some "Objects" attached to it. (a bit like the "P" button next to "Customize Slide" that depresses). Thanks Boogie
  21. Hi Igor PTE Show demo runs fine on my system with a Radeon 8500 graphics card. With all your super effects, I hope you will include some notes in V5.00 on how to set up the various parameters. Even so, I am sure the Forum will be buzzing with help and suggestions!! Well done. Cheers Boogie
  22. Brian "If you go to the 'Conflow' Postings you will find accurate instructions as how to 'Check' that Autorun is enabled on your PC. Topic:- CD Autorun Utility (started by Conflow) you need to scroll down and find the Instructions. Brian.Conflow." Found it! Many thanks Boogie
  23. Ron You wrote: [Thanks to 'the Hawk' (Ralph) I have now realised that I did not have the 'autorun' enabled on my computer. I have now sorted this out and my Autorun CD's are now running fine. Silly me! It is always the most obvious things that we mis eh! ] How do you get 'autorun' enabled on your computer? Cheers Boogie
  24. If any forum members are on the lookout (in UK) for a good pair of speakers plus a sub woofer, I have had the Aego 2 set of speakers for about 18 months (after a recommendation from Maureen) with excellent results. The Aego M-System has just been announced (£100) which looks very similar to the Aego 2 set. It is reviewed in Computer Active magazine No213 13-26 April. I have no commercial connection with the Acoustic Energy Co. ( www.acoustic-energy.co.uk ) but like to share the good experience I have had with these speakers. Boogie
