  1. Having some trouble with registration. Never got the authorization email. Can you help? Thanks!
  2. Welcome back, Dom! I can't imagine how much effort it took, but I'm glad to see you weren't too discouraged. Site looks great. Can't wait to spend some time here! Thanks again for your perseverance.
  3. I did do a quick search and found a few topics that are not exactly the same but may be of interest. http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....amp;#entry24425 http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....hl=proportional Not sure I did the linking correctly. We'll see
  4. Welcome, Xabier, to the forum. I am not an expert, but I think the current state of affairs is: 1) There is no existing internal feature to do this. 2) Igor and team are always interested in new ideas. 3) They are in the middle of a new release, but I haven't seen this listed as a new feature of the release. I am quite interested in that feature also. I use music differently than many folks do and the "synching" I do is much more precise, e.g., I want this transition to happen exactly on the cymbal crash in this measure, or right on the downbeat of that measure. You might try the Search mode of this forum to see if there have been other threads on this or similar topics. I'd take a look for you but I have to run at the moment. Also, I'm sure others will add to this thread with their opinions and advice. Hope this helps! Welcome!
  5. Dom, My French is infinitely worse than your English, but if there is any way I can help with the descriptions, please let me know. I know you have had many other offers from people who really know French, so I doubt I can be much help. But if the object is obvious, perhaps I could write a description in English without translating if from French. In any case, if there's something I can do, please let me know.
  6. TheDom, I too, am saddened and angered by the senseless, pointless destruction of your site. I only have a few things of yours, and after seeing Ken's post, I'm sure I can't help by including obscure files. But I can thank you for not giving up and taking the time to rebuild everything, which of course, benefits us much more than you! Thank you for all your significant contributions that make our lives easier. We all look forward to the new and improved site!
  7. It appears to me that she's trying to combine exe's, not pte's.
  8. Very nice, Dom! Clean, simple, straightforward. Now if I have some courage, I'll include a link to my site!
  9. Thanks, theDom! The slow version looks perfect for my senses! I will try soon!
  10. I'm just guessing, but I would think an animation of 4 seconds and a display of 5 secs "feels" about right in my mind's eye. I guess I'll have to learn about the "spread keypoints" feature. That doesn't sound familiar. I'll do a search. Thanks!
  11. Very nice, theDom! I can see using this effect on occasion. I think I would still like it slower yet. Don't know if that is customisable or not. By the way, you said you didn't know how to describe this. I would call it a "sweep" effect. Nice work.
  12. I'm a day late and a dollar short... but I thought there was an interaction between having music loaded and the length of the show, or, more accurately, NOT having music and controlling the length of the show. You have confirmed my recollection. This is of great interest to me, however, so if you have any more revelations, please post them.
  13. Ron, I have several comments. 1) This is a very clever idea. Kids will love it! 2) I ran the .exe on a very slow, old laptop, and haven't had the opportunity yet to try it on my home PC. The transitions, when they showed, were very jerky and in some cases, non-existent. I am very willing to blame it on the laptop. However, it prompted me to think about if there is a way to slow down (or speed up) the "coming together" of the pieces. It was rather fast on my machine (even though it was jerky) and I wasn't able to see much of the pieces before it all came together. I'm thinking like the customer here, not the builder. I can imagine wanting it very slow to give most children (and some adults ) time to process the individual pieces. 3) Great pictures. I'm sure most US children would miss many of the pictures, like "pub", "cottage", and even "bus". 4) I won't have a chance for a couple of weeks to try the tutorial, but I'll give it a try when I can. Thanks for continuing to build these for us!
  14. Thank you. I am not at a PC where I can try this right now, but I will. When I can see the screen it will probably make more sense. Thanks again.
  15. This is astounding! Congratulations to JP and all the others who have made suggestions or modifications. I'm wondering how much would have to change to end up with just a cube on a black background (for example) that, in it's tallest position during rotation, would just fit on the screen. So it's just a full-screen rotating cube. Then adjust it so that all 6 of the faces show (not necessarily in an equal or predictable order) with a different picture. This would simulate a real cube with a different picture on each face, spinning "randomly" in space. I admit I have not dug through the .pte file to try to understand what's really happening. I'm just describing what I see in my mind's eye as the end result. Thanks for any help!
  16. Thanks for the new tutorial! I'm a little confused about one slide. In step #3, it says, "Position so that there is no grey..." I understand that. Underneath there is a little image of the position box, with the comment "Integer number if picture size is pair." I don't understand this statement. Can you explain? Thanks.
  17. My humblest apologies... I shouldn't have doubted!
  18. Welcome Paul! As you have noted, this is one incredible forum with very active, intelligent people. I, too, thought I would be a "taker" only, not being able to contribute anything, but as you use PTE, you will develop your own opinions, techniques, etc. which will be helpful to Igor and others. Keep in mind that you are in a relatively unique position of being a "newbie". You have a different perspective that will soon go away as you become an expert. So don't be shy. Ask questions, pass along learnings to other novices. Everyone starts where you are. I'm sure glad that there are several gurus (you know who they are by reading this forum) that spend much of their day working on PTE, to help others like you and me!
  19. I don't know the time difference from here to where you are, Igor, but you seem to post at any hour of the day or night! Do you ever sleep? Thanks again for a stellar program and the countless hours you and your team put in! (I think Ken has a weather report for Kirov attached to his from line... maybe he can add the time too!)
  20. I noticed that as of today, this topic was "un-pegged", i.e., it is no longer frozen at the top of the list. Is this intentional? Oops. I see that beta #6 is now alive and well. Great news!
  21. I'd be happy to... it may be a week or two out. But I'll try to remember to post it. Thanks again.
  22. Very nice, the Dom! I just watched the tutorial and while I'm not at a PC that has Photoshop on it, I can't wait to try it. It looks very clear and well, designed. One small thing which may be a quirk of my machine... when I got to the last lesson (about how to save your work), it kept repeating that lesson, rather than stopping the "show". No problem to just stop it, but thought you should know. Thanks again. Believe it or not, I want to try it on a couple of my son's wedding pictures! I think they'll love it.
  23. Have to admit I haven't used it much either, but the significance might be that you can quickly see which slides have customized (or customised, depending on if you're from the US or anywhere else in the world ) settings. It might be handy to know that without looking at the settings screen for every slide. Thanks for working on this, John. I'm sure you'll have lots of customers!
  24. Brilliant, Ken! If you ever do find a cure, please tell me so I can buy stock!
  25. If it's a dumb question, then we all qualify. I know several instances where I know I've done something and can't figure out how I did it. Sometimes it's because in a new release, Igor disables certain features for a time, then re-implements them. But often it's my old brain cells! There are a handful of folks that are using PTE all day, every day, and they are invaluable to the rest of us!
