years ago -- on the old forum -- the one that got lost -- there were many Dutch members. One fellow stated that he learned the features of the program by translating the English instructions to Dutch.. One member we never hear from any more was hans@van-klinken.demon.nl there are still 5 of his utilities posted at Beechbrook. You maybe should write to him and ask how he handled the translation Guido or Lumenlux may be able to add some details from the past when you get it sorted out to your liking i am sure igor would love to see it for a future revision ken

Gerard see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index...&hl=thumbs+plus Dec 2 2003, 06:03 PM If one limits the criteria for Copernic i dont think it will have a big database -- as it is now on my one system it was 800mb +- -- but was willing to accept it for the convienence - have not looked at it lately -- i could not find no way of setting ctiteria with thumbs plus --therefore on reformatting my 2 systems i did not reinstall it fresh view might have a database but have not found it I believe Breeze browser also builds a data base but have not looked for it either ken

quote from Woody's " newsletter --==>> WOW -- WOODY's OFFICE WATCH <<==-- Microsoft Office advice and news from Woody Leonhard 1 September 2004 Vol 9 No 14 3. COPERNIC ENTERS SEARCH RACE Many of you will remember the Copernic web search program from years past. Well now they've entered the market for finding documents and emails on your computer with Copernic Desktop Search www.copernic.com The Windows XP indexing tool is a dreadful resource hog and best avoided. The news that Longhorn (the next major Windows release) will not have the new file system probably also means that the innovative document searching and organization system is also on hold. This means an open field for tools to search your hard drive. If you've only ever used the Windows XP search then you're in for a treat. Once the index on one of the third party products is complete, you can find documents based on a few words in the blink of an eye and you can also search emails in Outlook or Outlook Express with similar speed. Companies like X1 and Dtsearch have been joined by Copernic. Other companies have time-limited trial versions by Copernic have a different approach. As they have with other products, Copernic have released a free version of Copernic Desktop Search which will be joined later by paid versions with extra features. It's available at www.copernic.com you can select to just search pictures -- still free same is very fast but like anything the picts have to properly id'd stores it's data on my xp home systems at C:\Documents and Settings\pbyk\Local Settings\Application Data\Copernic you can set the size of picts to ignore i have it running in the background and it is set to update the database automatically if it senses no activity in x # mins another free viewer is http://www.freshdevices.com/freshview.html does not have thw power of Breeze Browser but again it is free and has a small footprint ken

This should be enough reason for all presentors to include a short text file with the zip explaining the show and what one is trying to "say" -- it is also helpful to include your email addie and name in case one forgets to download it with the show from the source. a year or so back there were 2 false virus alarms by norton users - myself and others downloaded everything that was on the "beechbrook" site and rechecked every file with different anti virus scanners to ensure the files were clean -+- 200 megs of files- it was very difficult as the file names and owner names were not consistant the norton update was at fault but a lot of members were really worried Igor and Guido [guru] Russo finally sorted out the problem with Norton neat sunset effects -- time lapse photography comes to p2e ken

Lou i would start another thread now out of this "wishlist" category describing exactly what you wish to do -- then the members will have a go at your question title it "edit the pte" or something along that line ken
-
Lou welcome to the forum r mouse the ~.pte file and open with worpad or the text editor you prefer -- MS's notepad is limited to +- 65 kb ken
-
Chuck thanks for sharing your page with the forum -- now if we could only get Igor to make a section for tutorials we haven't been harping at him for better organization of the site for quite a while now ken

just an fyi made 2 shows using the same picts when i made the avi i checked sharpness box on one and left it unchecked on the other made the dvd with nero suite can see no difference on 29" tv have always used the sharpness filter and will in the furture -- with picts i use, i need every bit i can get ken
-
Ron as i said pte has no problem picts that were this size and +- 2 mb in size Ken
-
I will add if people are interested seeing the difference in pictures of varying size buy an AGFA Lupe 8x print a picture in bw at various picture size and print to fit page size then look at the edge detail with the lupe you will see the difference the lupe is a phoyograher's best friend -- a must have in all your working rooms and in camera bag -- for locating the sliver you got in your finger while getting in a precarious position to get "the shot" ken

Ron i have been experimenting with digital picts taken by friends and family and have found the larger physical dimensions the better the final show -- i have one friend that has a 50 widescreen and we could see the difference between shows that used his picts full size from his camera 99% of them were 2272/1704 - the exif data does not show his dpi but they ranged between 196 kb to 2.08 mb and were the resulting show 238 images was 270 meg with the music -- i also made shows that i resized to 1024/768 - experimenting has shown me go for the big original image when i put a show together now it's final show place is on a tv -- the computer is just a tool to get it there -- when i used a Hassleblad -- i looked at every scene and said to myself how will it look as a 16 x 20 or larger picture -- -35 mm the decision was not greater than 11 x 14 what would i lose in the enlarging process -- would i have to print it borderless the bigger image of the medium format film gave one a whole lot of leeway in making the final print I think the biggest decision when working with pictures that will be going thru a computer is unless it is absolutely necessary -- dont shoot verticals you will have to experiment - what may be your cup of tea is vinegar to somebody else ken

My mistake After i made the entry,I went thru my records and could not find the problem. I guess the Pinnacle users will chime in when problems exist. ken
-
Igor what changes can we expect to see in the sharpness filter ? also it does not relate to my system but i thought you were going to tune this release for pinnacle users as well -- was i wrong ? ken
