  1. Ok... I am going to try to attached just the PTE file as a ZIP to see if it works. Hopefully, you can look at this file and see what is going wrong....? Thanks... Gary Added later... Ah...yes, that did the trick. Thanks... Menu_Halloweens.zip
  2. Yes.. I Browse and selected the file and I clicked on Add This Attachment...let me try again. Gary Added later... No, I don't see it. I got the grey bar to show as if it was uploading it but it does not appear. Maybe, I don't have permissions from the site to do any uploads. I looked around but don't see any way to ask to get such permission. The file is only 16K. Not sure what is going on here.... Tried again to attach file...does not seem to be working...Gary
  3. I think I still have the faulty PTE file. I will send it to Igor. Hopefully, he will have some time to scope out the problem. Thanks... Gary
  4. Hi Fred and Dominque... I am a bit baffled that Dominque's test Menu works but mine does not. I have attached the PTE file for my Menu file (is that the one you need to see?). If anyone can take a look at it and determine what might be causing the problem, I would be grateful. I am also wondering why Igor's suggestion did not work. Thanks... Gary Added Later: Hmmmm... I added an attachment but it does not show up. Can I attach a file to a reply???
  5. Fred.... Wonderful!!!! Thanks for the tip. I did not think of using the Copyright Logo. I made some text in Photoshop and it worked just great. Super thanks to all for your help. Now I just have to figure out why I can't get the Menu show to remain on the screen. Sincerely, Gary
  6. Greetings... Yep, it worked just fine. I played the show and hit the ESC key and it went back to the Menu slide. And the Exit button worked to. I wonder why mine does not work.... Thanks for the demo. Gary P.S. You did yours in 5.x. Wonder if there is a difference...since I am using 4.48.
  7. I looked and I already have "When show ends keep last slide in show on screen" checked. When I run a slideshow or the menu show with this item checked, the last slide does stay on the screen...until the next slide show is run. Then it goes away. Gary
  8. Ken... Thanks for shedding light on this issue. I tried it and it works fine. Now, I am going to be showing this using a digital projector (which I have only a little experience with). If I set the screen size (in PTE) to 1024x768, will it show just as if I had chosen Fullscreen Mode, but with the Caption showing??? Thanks... Gary
  9. Fred... Maybe there is another way of doing what I am trying to do. I have made a big slideshow containing 3 individual slideshows. Each show is a halloween party, but each from a different year. What I'd like to do is show the year of the party on each slide so the viewers know which year playing. I figured that a "Caption" would do this. Is there another way that is quick and easy to display the same text on each slide of a particular slideshow???? Thanks... Gary
  10. Fred... I don't quite understand how you are keeping the main menu up and running after you choose to play one of its slideshows. I tried changing both Mouse button actions to "None". That did not help. I do have the main menu file in the "Run application after last file". Not sure how you keep the main menu up.... Can you explain further??? Thanks. Gary
  11. Igor... Thanks for the reply. I changed the line as you stated, however, an Exit does not return me to the Menu show. It still goes back to the computer's file screen. Maybe I misunderstood. I changed the line in the primary slideshow only. Did you mean that I should change the line in the Menu show??? Thanks... Gary Add later... P.S. What happens is that it jumps to the beginning of the next slideshow, then exits back to the computer's file screen. But does not go to the Menu show.
  12. I know there is "Run application after last slide....". However, I just noticed that I would like to have the ability to "Run application after Exit". For example, I have a Menu show that has 3 buttons to run individual slideshows. From the Menu show, you can start any of the 3 slideshows. Then, I have each slideshow Run the next slideshow so it basically loops around until someone stops it. I would like the ability to return to the Menu show when any of the shows are exited or stopped. But I don't see this as a possibility. When stopped it just goes back to the computer's file screen. It there any way of doing this now in 4.48 or 5.x? Or maybe this can be a new feature in future versions??? Gary
  13. Hmmmm.... Nobody seems to what to respond to this question. But I also just tried it in V5.x and, again, the text does not show up there either. I can really use this feature in an upcoming presentation, if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Gary
  14. Thanks to Hawk for solving this question for me: "Actually March 5/2004 – version 4.40. After reading the “ History File in 4.48 “ – it is stated. PicturesToExe v4.20 (March 5, 2004) ----------------------------------- + Improved synchronized mode of presentation. Now you can fully control presentation in this mode; go to any slide; use Navigation bar; Pause feature. To activate this mode set checked "Permit the control" (Project options | Main tab)." Much appreciated.... Gary
  15. Hawk... Thanks so much for clearing that up for me. I wish I knew what caused my problem so it would not happen again. Perhaps, once the new version comes out, this type of problem will be just a memory! Gary
  16. Well, I bit the bullet and just re-created the entire show from scratch. I re-made the show exactly as I originally did it with the same images and sound files. Now it works just fine. But not understanding what caused the problems is not comforting. This happened once before, I am pretty sure, and I had to recreate the entire show. I wish Igor had a magical testing program that could detect any defects like this that occur.... Gary
  17. I happened to click on the Info icon for the "Synchronize slideshow...". It states that you "..cannot enable Navigation Bar or use Customize Slide dialog to set individual slide time displays." I have violated both of these things. Nothing in the program prevents me or warns me of this. In fact, I always have the Nav Bar running with synch'd music in every show I have made. Never had a problem in the past. Wonder if this is still a valid warning...? Or maybe by doing this, it could corrupted a slideshow? Thanks... Gary
  18. I stuck this question in with another problem I was having but didn't get any takers. So let me put it upfront and I hope someone can help. I am assuming that when you use the "Screen/Caption of show", the text will appear on every slide. I have tried this many times but I cannot seem to get it to do anything. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to get this function working??? Thanks... Gary
  19. Yes, I have it checked. But I, as I poke around more, I happened to click on the Info icon for the "Synchronize slideshow...". Or maybe by doing this, I have corrupted the file? I seems to really have goofed up this file. I can't get it to do a Start Preview from any of the slides in the last 2/3's of the image list. Gary
  20. Hawk... Yes, I have them all checked like that. I just tried another thing. I took out the midi sound files. I changed it back to play so that it is NOT sync'd to music but plays each slide for 1 second. Then it worked fine. It rolled over to the next slideshow. When I put in music (sync'd), it has a problem. I have tried other music files and get the same problem... I would re-do the entire slideshow but it is pretty complex with lots of Object Editor inputs of text and sounds that would be a bear to redo. Gary
  21. I spoke too soon. I have not solved the problem. I was working on the wrong slideshow. Got confused. I still can not get slideshow #2 to 'run another application' when it is finished. The last slide just stays on the screen. I have noticed, thought, that after the last slide is on the screen from slideshow #2, if I click on the 'Next Slide' incon in the Navigator bar, it will then continue on with the next slideshow I put in the ' Run application...'. Why it gets stuck, is a mystery to me. So, if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreicate them. Thanks... Gary P.S. Now... I see also that the 'Start the Preview from current slide' does not work....!@#$%^&
  22. Hawk...and Brian, I think I solved the problem. The images in slideshow #2, which I was having the problem with, was actually running a little too fast--too many slides for the one midi file I had. So I added a second music file to the slideshow...and...it seems to have 'killed' the bug. I must have been cramming too many files into the length of the one midi I had. Strange. But I hope this does it. Everything was setup as you both stated so I was sure it was something a bit off the wall. Thanks for the suggestions. Gary ***OOOPPSSS, NO, IT DID NOT WORK... READ NEXT REPLY...**** GARY
  23. Brian... Thanks for your attachment...but that is exactly what I am using. The 1st slideshow will run the 2nd; and the 3rd will run the 1st. The 2nd slideshow will not run the 3rd slideshow. The problem, I think, is that it seems that there is something corrupted in the second slideshow that makes it not want to "Run the application", which is the 3rd slideshow. That is just my guess but I am not sure how to troubleshoot this problem. I am going to switch the placement of the 2nd and 3rd slideshows and see what happens. Gary
  24. Greetings… I am having a problem (in 4.48) having a certain slideshow run a second slideshow (Run application after last slide…). I had this problem a long time ago but forgot what I had to do to fix it. Hopefully, someone can point me in the right direction. I have 3 slideshows. I also created a Menu show with one image and 3 buttons, each one runs one of the 3 slideshow. After each slideshow is played, it should come back to the Menu show and then I can choose the next slideshow to play. However, after slideshow #2 plays, it just stops at the end of its run, keeping the last slide on the screen, and not coming back to the Menu show. I then changed each slideshow so that each slideshow would play (using Run application after last slide) the next slideshow in sequence. Slideshow #1 will play Slideshow #2, but Slideshow #2, again, just stops at the last slide and does not continue onto the Slideshow #3. Can anyone tell me what might be the problem? I did look through the Forum and a mention of lack of memory might be the cause. However, I have 2GB or RAM. It might be a corrupted image but I am not sure how to narrow it down…if that is the problem. Would appreciate any ideas…Thanks.. Gary P.S. Also, I am wondering what the Caption choice is in the Screen menu. I typed in some text but it does not appear in the shows. What am I missing???? I assume the text should appear on each slide during the show???
  25. One of the frustations (minor, but important) I have when using V4.48, is that when I put text in a slide, I can not tell which slides have the text added when viewing the Slide List window. I have to open several slides around the area that I think have the text, until I find it. Is it possible to have an indication in the Slide List window, in addition to the Size, that would indicate that something has been added by the Object Editor? Yes, I know there are other ways to come up with a list of what each slide has, but those ways are not as efficient as having some indication in the Slide List window. I am interested mostly in Text, but it can also be for the Graphic or Hyperlink choices. I have tried out the lastest Beta version but I don't see this idea being added. Has this been thought of this already or am I missing something? Good idea...bad idea? Thanks, Gary
