  1. Thanks Jeff. You have sorted it out. If I select mode original in the objects and animation/common tab, my images keep their size. Does this mean that I have to recreate my slideshows made with pte 4 to have the images displayed at their original sizes? Thanks again for your help Jeff, I really appreciate it. Kind regards paul.
  2. Hi I have tried this in version 4.48 and the image stays the correct size. In 5beta 17 it doesn't seem to matter what 'aspect ratio' size I choose under the 'scree'n tab of 'project options' it still stretches the image and doesn't keep it's original size. Kind rergards Paul
  3. Hi I double click on a portrait image (size 768x511) to load it into pte. In the main image window the text 'Click here to view the slide' is not shown, however when I click on the image to preview how it should look, everything is fine. When I then highlight the image , to say customize the slide, the text 'click here to preview the slide' appears, and when I click on this to preview how the image should look(without having made any adjustments to the image), the image is stretched vertically to fit my monitor size (1440x990, Aspect ratio 16:10). Am I doing something wrong, is there anyway to keep the original size of the image, without it being stretched to fit my monitor? many thanks Kind regards paul
  4. Thankyou for the information regarding the black strips, and the excellent, quick work that you did in solving my problem. Kind regards Paul
  5. Hello Igor I have quickly tried beta 16, and recompiled my shows and everything seems to be working fine. Thankyou very much. Does this mean that there should be black strips on my display (1440x900) when using images 800x600 in size with aspect ratio set at 16:10? Many thanks kind regards Paul
  6. Hello Igor that was quick! Many thanks for all your efforts and the efforts of your team in producing this fantastic piece of software. I look forward to beta 16 and giving it another try, and I will let you know how I get on. Many thanks once again. Kind regards Paul
  7. Hello Igor I have just sent the files via email, I zipped the files , I hope this is ok. Thankyou for your Help. Hi Ron, What I am trying to achieve is one menu exe to run all my pte shows on my pc, I cannot fit all the buttons to call these shows on 1 page, that is why it needs at least 3slides/pages to the menu exe. I hope this makes sense. If you could think of a better way to achieve this I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. Many thanks kind regards paul
  8. Hi I have been burning the midnight oil trying to solve this problem, here are my findings:- I have a menu exe containing 3 slides, 1st slide 'Weddings', 2nd slide 'holidays', 3rd slide 'other' All the slides have the same layout of buttons, the top 3 buttons are 'weddings', 'holidays'and 'other', these buttons are set as follows, slide 1 can call slides 2+3, slide 2 can call slides 1+3, slide 3 can call slides 1+2. In slide 1 I have a button set to call an exe which contains only 2 slides with no animation only transitions, called project 1, hardware acceleration on. In slide 2 I have a button set to call a show which has both animation and transitions, hardware acceleration on. I also have many other buttons in the slides which do nothing at the moment but are there for future use. test no 1. In the project options main tab, 'when show ends keep last slide in show on screen is checked', 4s set for slide time, in the screen tab, 'hardware acceleration' is turned off, and in the effects tab, 'effects' are turned off In the customize slide tab for each of the 3 slides, 'stop at the end of this slide' is selected. when I run the menu show and select the button to run 'project 1' I get the application error that I mentioned in my 1st post If i then set transition effects to on in project options to 'enable transition effects' everything runs fine. (but I don't really want transition effects) Test No 2 All settings are the same as above except:- In the customize tab for all 3 slides in the 'main tab' 'loop this slide is 'selected. In the main project options transition effects are turned off. With these settings everything seems to run fine. Now the strange thing is, I have a similar menu set up as in test no 1 above, with buttons calling 3 slides and the same 2 shows, the only difference being the background photograph in the 3 menu slides is a different one, and i have less buttons in each of the slides, and this runs with no problems! sorry about the long winde account, but it was the best I could do. hope you can shed some light on this,if my explanation makes any sense that is. Many thanks kind regards Paul
  9. Hi I have created a menu exe with 3 slides, called 'My P2E presentations.' These 3 slides have various buttons on them, to either call the different slides within the menu, or to call other pte shows. There are 3 main buttons on each slide set to call the three different slides, and one button only (at the moment) set to call another show called 'Project 1'. When I run the menu exe and click on the button in slide 1 to call and run 'Project1' I get the following 'Application error' Exception EAbort in module My P2E Presentations.exe at 00007186. Asseertion with message: 'Unhandled exception at "TAffin" Disposing' (E:\Work\WnSoft.WnLib\Win32\WpTypes.pas, line: 532). Has anybody any idea what is causing this? Your help would be very much appreciated. Many thanks kind regards Paul
  10. Thnks for the explanation Lin, much appreciated. Kind regards paul
  11. Thanks everyone for your help and advice. Igor I ran your test that you prepare for Dom, I found that when I ran your test, and when I clicked on the button for run slideshow 2 and exit, I was momentarily returned to the desktop before slideshow 2 began. Is this what is supposed to happen? Would this facility be useful if you had a separate menu show used for calling other shows, then if you wanted to click esc during one of these called shows you would then be returned to the menu show to select another? Many thanks Kind regards paul
  12. hi Jeff I'm not sure if this is what you are after but if you didn't want to have sound in your menu you can try using the 'Stop at the end of this slide' found in the 'Main tab' in the 'customise' slide menu. I tried a show with this setting where I had 3 menu slides at the beginning of my show, each slide, through the use of buttons, enabling me to call each of the other slides as well as calling other exe's. hope this helps Kind regards paul
  13. Hi thanks for your answer Ron. I was just thinking that if I were to pass on one of my created shows to someone, they would have to double click the p2e icon to start the show and therefore people might think it logical to have to double click the button on the menu page to start the next part of the show, and that's where I envisaged there being problems. Many thanks Paul
  14. Hi I have created a button in an opening menu executable to call and run another executable. When left clicking 'once' with the mouse on this button everything runs fine, if I accidentally click 'twice' on this created button it causes all sorts of problems, eg a blank screen and the called show does not run and the only way out of this is to keep pressing esc. Is there any way to stop this occuring, if you mouse click twice on buttons calling other exe's? Many thanks Kind regards Paul
  15. Hi Lin thanks again for all your help. I have put your advice into practise and everything works fine. Kind regards Paul
  16. Hi Ron I have sent you an email with a link to download the test project I have tried. I've not done this too often so if you have any trouble please let me know. Kind regards paul
  17. Hi Lin thankyou for your help, and your very quick reply. I did away with the animation as you suggested , but it didn't seem to make any difference whether hardware acceleration was checked or unchecked everything ran smoothly either way. I have just read Ron's reply but unlike him, I have not sent my projects to anyone else. I have a laptop too, so perhaps I will send them to myself and then try them on my laptop. Once again, many thanks Kind regards Paul
  18. Hi I created 2 projects in beta 15, (project1 and project 2) each with one slide and each slide with zoom effect. I created a button in project 1 to run an application (project 2), when I ran proiject 1 it was fine, but when I clicked on the button to run project 2, project 2 ran very jerkily. I then recreated project one and unchecked hardware acceleration in project options, screen tab. Then when I ran project 1 it ran jerkily, but then when I clicked on the button to run project 2, project 2 then ran smoothly, completely opposite to above. I don't know if I am doing anything wrong (probably), but any help would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards paul
  19. Hi I have run Dave's 'test' zip, and I see the 'run' and 'exit' buttons at the bottom of the screen. I am still running beta9 (not beta9a) and my screen resolution is 1440x900. Paul
  20. Hi I have just tried this, and at the bottom of the opening screen are the buttons 'run' and 'exit', when I click on run the show starts. Paul
  21. Hello again I'd like to give a big thankyou to all those that have helped to solve my problem, it's nice to be a part of a forum with people who are willing to help others and who are so quick with their responses. My problem is now solved as I have upgraded my graphics card to a Nvidia GeForce 7600gs, and now everything is running fine again. Many, many thanks once again Kind regards Paul
  22. Thankyou so much for getting back to me with information on nvidia graphics cards. My computer man talked about overclocking the 7100gs to see if that would work, but in the end we decided to go for a 7600gs, should this card be ok? Many thanks, once again kind regards Paul
  23. HI I have been in touch with the man who did my pc upgrade and he would like to know if P2E is able to be run by the nvidia geforce 7 series of graphics cards. (mine is a geforce 7100gs and I have a lot of jumping and stuttering when running P2E presentations) If anyone could let me know, it would be very much appreciated. Many thanks. Kind regards Paul
  24. hello again just an addendum to my last post, when I did the panning test with my photo kept to the original size (3872 x 2592), in the properties tab, the selection in the Mode drop down box was set to 'Fit to Slide', and this gave me problems of stuttering etc when previewing, and also in 'created exe'. I have since tried adding various photos to my panning test project using Original in the Drop down box and tried setting various speeds and directions of panning all of which run smoothly. The only time I have problems with panning exhibiting stuttering etc in my own projects is when I add slides and have the 'Fit to Slide' option set in the mode drop down box. Don't know if this helps or has made things more confusing, please forgive me if it has. kind regards paul
  25. Hi again thankyou so much for all your replies, they really are appreciated. I'm afraid some of the things you have been talking about eg reinstalling graphics card drivers are beyond me, so I guess I will need to speak to the man who upgraded my pc, but I am not able to do that at the moment as it is a holiday here in the uk at the moment. I have since tried an experiment that seems to reproduce this problem that I am having, I don't know if this helps or not but perhaps you can point me in the right direction if I am doing something wrong. I followed Ronniebootwest's pdf tutorial on panning, resizing my photo to 1024 x 768 to match my monitor resolution size and when previewing in pte everythig ran smoothly. I then tried it again keeping my original photo size of 3872 x2592 and then followed the rest of the tutorial keeping all other settings the same, when previewing this slide, it exhibited the problems I'm having of being jerky, jumping, stuttering etc. Does this shed any more light on the situation, or am I barking up the wrong tree? many thanks once again Kind regards Paul
