  1. Hi I don't know if anybody else is having this problem but I am finding it very difficult to navigate the forum pages of the website. I can get to the wnsoft homepage as normal, but when clicking on the forum tab it takes a while to get to the forum page and then when clicking on the forum topics it takes a while for the pages to load, it is becoming a bit frustrating. This has been happening for about a week or so now. It happens on 2 pc's and 2 laptops, I have no other trouble like this with any other web sites that I visit. I use ie8, ie9 and firefox and it makes no difference much which browser I use. Any help with this matter would be much appreciated. Kind regards Many thanks Paul
  2. Hi thanks for all the comments regarding Lakes 2010. Regarding the ending of the show I agree I should have put more effort in for public viewing, but it was made for my own collection and it didn't bother me that much and also it was a last minute decision to upload it and I never gave it a thought. Thanks for pointing it out and next time I must do better. (Sounds like my old school report) Kind regards Paul
  3. Hi nothing special with this slideshow, just a few photos taken on our holidays in the Lake District in 2010, (not as good as Maureen's (Lakeland Lass) I'm afraid.) The show is 23mb approximately 6 minutes long and can be downloaded at the link below. http://cid-d571131e2917d4d9.skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?resid=D571131E2917D4D9!135 Paul
  4. Here is a link to an earlier version. Hope this helps http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/pte449.zip Kind regards paul
  5. Hi I have this option turned off in a menu system to call other slideshows. I have been using this menu for quite some while now. Does this mean that if you remove the option to turn off hardware acceleration that my menu system will no longer work? Many thanks Kind regards Paul
  6. Thanks very much for the replies. I took a few pte shows on a memory stick and tried them on various laptops with ATI cards and there didn't seem to be any noticeable colour shift, certainly not enough to worry about anyway, and the good lady was more than happy, and as we all know that's all that really matters. Thanks again for all your help, much appreciated Paul
  7. Thanks for the reply Peter. So would I be right in thinking that there should be no problem with the up to date ATI video cards with regards to colour shift and or management? thanks Paul
  8. Hi thanks for the answers and thanks to Ken for putting this post in the right place. I'm not sure that I have made myself clear in my first post or that I am even making myself clear in this one! I seem to remember that for a long time there has been some compatibility problems with Pictures to Exe and ATI video cards, not necessarily with their ability to run the shows (transitions etc) but specifically that there was a noticeable colour shift from the original photographs when they were run in the show. I was just wondering whether this was still the case. Kind regards Paul
  9. Hi I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, my apologies if not. I was just wondering if the problems that have been mentioned over the years on this forum associated with running Pictures to Exe and ATI video cards still exist, ie colour shifts etc. The reason I am asking is that my old laptop is on it's last legs and I might need to purchase another and I didn't want to get one with an ATI card if there were still problems. Having had a quick look there seems to be more laptops available with ATI cards fitted than Nvidia. I would appreciate any help and advice that you could give me in this area. Many thanks Kind regards Paul
  10. Hi Barry when I click on your link I am taken to a page where the show at the top is one titled 'exposure' and not 'Image size' am I doing something wrong or have I misunderstood? Many thanks Paul
  11. Lin so sad to hear of your loss, thinking of you at this time. Paul
  12. Hi Dave I did vote just didn't post a reply, but I guess I have now. 1680 x 1050 16:10 Kind regards Paul
  13. Hi just to let you know that I have solved my recording problem with Audacity. I had to switch on disabled devices in my recording devices in windows to be able to choose 'stereo mix'. Once I had enabled this Audacity picked it up and enabled me to record. Thanks again for all your help. Kind regards Paul
  14. Hi thanks Peter and Eric for your replies. With my new desktop windows 7 64 bit system because I only have onboard sound I cannot use the recording side of Audacity because it does not recognise my onboard sound in the recording devices of the preferences menu. If anybody knows a way to overcome this any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks again. Kind regards Paul
  15. Hi Peter thanks ever so much for your reply, you say you record from your sound card, is this sound card a seperate one to your motherboard, or do you have onboard sound? The reason I ask this is because I think in the past I had problems with recording direct from what was playing on the pc with onboard sound as Audacity didn't recognise it and I think the way I got round it was to have to buy a new sound card. Also have I misunderstood or have you have listed both version numbers the same in your reply, which version no should I look for? Many htanks once again Kind regards Paul
  16. Hi just a couple of questions about Audacity if I may. Is there anybody who could tell me please if Audacity will run ok on a windows 7 64 bit operating system? also is it possible to use the record facility of Audacity to record what is playing on your computer if you have onboard sound, I know it is ok when you have a seperate sound card, but I seem to remember from way back that there might be trouble with on board sound? many thanks kind regards Paul
  17. Hi not sure if this is what you are looking for. I use it on windows 7 32 bit, not sure about 64 bit. It burns all types of discs including bluray, and it's free. http://cdburnerxp.se/en/screenshots Kind regards Paul
  18. Hi I went through exactly the same process to register PTE on my Windows 7 system as i did on my XP machine, everything worked perfectly. Hope this helps. Kind regards Paul
  19. Hi Brian thanks for your reply it is much appreciated. I did run this on my pc before upgtading to windows 7 and it showed I only had problems with my sound card drivers,I have since updated the drivers for both my sound card and graphics card and have assumed rightly or wrongly that these are now both ok. Brian, can this programme be now run on my pc now it has been upgraded to windows 7 to check that everything is ok? Thanks again. Kind regards Paul
  20. Hi, just a short account of my experiences of running PTE in a new os. I have just upgraded my operating system from windows xp to windows 7 After getting my new os up and running I then began to reinstall my programmes, PTE 5.6 being one of them. I have a menu created in PTE which I use to run my PTE shows which are kept on an external usb hard drive. After doing this, I then ran the menu system to see if it worked. About six or seven of my twenty or so shows didn't run properly, by this I mean that when running the shows they displayed various amounts of lines and or pixels with sometimes the photographs showing through partially. As I had installed the latest nvidia drivers for my graphics card (7600 GS) and as my other shows ran I discounted this as being the source of my problems. I then opened my nenu project file, renamed, resaved and created a new exe, still the same problems. I then ran the shows direct from the external hard drive, still no joy, coming to the conclusion tnat it was not my menu that was the problem. I then opened the project files that I had for these shows renamed, resaved and created a new exe for them, they then all ran fine. For the one show I did not have a project file for, (silly me I now know better) I just made a new copy and renamed it and then it ran fine. Sorry for the longish short account, as I say it is just for info really. it may or may not be of help to someone with similar experiences Kind regards Paul
  21. Hi Dom your menu works fine on my pc. I seem to remember, although I can't remember too much about it now, that I had a problem with multipage menus operating correctly with hardware acceleration turned on. Kind regards Paul
  22. Hi I too use the menu system mentioned with hardware acceleration turned off to watch my own and other peoples shows, Can I just ask a couple of questions please? (I guess that's now three questions) 1) If you use an earlier version of pte to create the menu, can you still use the latest version to create your shows and then will these run ok from the menu created with the earlier version? 2) Can you still get hold of the earlier version 4 to create the menu, as has been mentioned in nthe earlier post? Kind regards Many thanks Paul
  23. Hi Moelwyn I too have noticed a problem for quite some time now with folders opening slowly that contain pte exe files ie the files (icons)contained in the folder take some little while to show. I thought it might just be my pc being as no one else had mentioned it, but now you have made this post it will be interesting to see if anyone else has noticed this problem. I haven't found a way to stop this happening, and it can be quite frustating at times as it can take quite some while for the contents of the folder to be revealed. Kind regards Paul
  24. Hi Maureen, just to say we really enjoyed the photography, it took us right back to when we (the good lady and I) were at Ambleside in June, although our photography wasn't nearly anywhere as good as yours. I think we'll be going back again next year. Thanks again for sharing, please keep them coming. Kind regards Paul
