  1. Hi Igor, If I have a project open in PTE and set up Key Frames for animation on a slide in O&A and the setting in Preferences for Scale Key Frames is not selected then, of course, if I change the slide duration there will be no repositioning of the Key Frames. If, with the project open, I now go to Preferences and select Scale Key Frames and then change the slide duration, in version 9 this has no effect on the positions of the Key Frames already set. I believe in previous versions they would have been scaled in an open project when the Preferences were changed. In order to Scale Key Frames now in an open project the only way is to use the slide Options as Barry has commented. Hope this is clear. TC
  2. Hi Barry, Many thanks, that works OK. TC
  3. Hi, I have set Scale Key Frames using v 9.0.4 on both my laptop and desktop computers but this does not seem to be functional. When I reset the slide duration and go back to O&A the timings remain the same. TC
  4. Hi Dave, Many thanks for that, it is just what I was looking for. It is to try and help our camera club to use PTE instead of Windows viewer. TC
  5. Hi Lin, Thanks for the reply. I did mean the file name. I'm not certain but I think someone in the past said that this was possible. TC
  6. Hi, I seem to recall that it is possible to create a slide style which will automatically pick up the title and this can be displayed with the image. Can anyone advise please? TC
  7. Hi, Someone asked me to have a look at a problem they had in putting a number of slide shows on a DVD and getting them to run correctly. I created a disc with 5 slide shows using a 3 x 2 menu template which shows five black boxes which I altered to show required frame in each case. I then burnt the DVD. In PTE Project Options Full Screen selected and Fix Size not selected. In each case in Video Builder Project Options:- PAL - 16:9 - 7000 - Auto - Antiflicker selected - MPEG Audio - 320kb/s - Return to Menu selected. On the menu template 3 x 2 - Animated Menu not selected - Return to menu selected and Menu duration not selected. When the DVD is in the TV player the menu comes up showing all of the shows and the first show is selected. If I use the right arrow key on the TV remote I can get as far as the last show on the top line (third show), further use of the right arrow key does nothing and pressing the left arrow key either does nothing or will only go back to the second show but not the first. I am unable to use any of the arrow keys to access the fourth show (First one on bottom line of menu). If I select the third show on the top line of the menu I can use the down arrow key to access the fifth show (last one on bottom line of menu). As an exercise I have done this in Both PTE V8 and V9 beta 2 with the same result. I have had little experience of producing DVD's and wonder if anyone has had similar problems. I know most people will be using USB sticks and smart TV's but would like to know if there is a solution. TC
  8. Hi All, Firstly apologies for the long delay in replying to all your comments. The reason I needed the details was to help a lady at our local camera club who is still using PTE 7. With a little help she has now resolved her problem and so I would like to say thank you to all of you who replied. I am still trying to persuade her to update to the latest version of PTE but I guess she may be best waiting for PTE 9? Any signs of a beta version yet? All the best TC
  9. I know nobody has looked at this post yet but it seems that the version of PTE 7 that the lady has is just the standard version and O&A are not available in this version. I hope someone might be able to confirm this please. TC
  10. Can anyone remind me where O&A were in PTE 7. I have tried to find an old user manual but so far not succeeded. I did a demo the other night and a lady who was present is trying to replicate what I did but in PTE 7. TC
  11. Hi, Have had a look at dropbox from your link and it says the file does not exist. Can you help please. TC
  12. Hi All, Cracked it!!! Following my understanding of Dave's demo tutorial I have created a background "Screen" for each image in the show and added the original images as a Child of each of the "Screens". Using the "Change Image File" by right clicking on an image and replacing it with the 1920 x 1080 Black Image (Screen) and then placing the original image as a Child of the Black Image. This process was repeated for each image in the sequence. By doing it this way all the timings were kept and anywhere there were masks or text files these were "Copied" and then pasted to the Black Image and the original text/masks deleted. This ensured that any Keyframes and timing associated with Text and Masks was retained. Once the sequence had been changed in its entirety I went into Project Options/Default Tab and under "% of the slide to show main images" set this to 92% and this has solved the problem. Re the pale appearance of the sequence, this was down to settings on the TV which have now been altered and all is well. Thanks to all for your input on this, it is appreciated. Tony Hi Dave, must have been typing this when you replied. Once again many thanks for your help. Tony
  13. Hi Dave, I understand that the Black Image sized at 1920 x 1080 is the screen. What I am asking is, do I have a screen/Black Image for every image in the sequence. This can be done quite easily by using "Change Image" and replacing it with the Black Image and in O&A "Add/Image" where the "image" is the one which has been replaced by the Black Image (if that makes sense!) and repeating this for every image in the sequence. If you are saying that the Black Image or Parent is only used once, this means that all the timings for the whole show need to be done by adding all the individual images in the sequence and making them a Child to the one Parent and then using Keyframes for the transitions and timing. Sorry if I sound a little confused but I want to get this correct as the video will be used as a demonstration for a historical venue. Thanks agin Tony
  14. Hi Dave, Many thanks for your reply and for the link. I have watched your demo and would just like to confirm that you seem to be saying every image of the sequence needs to be placed on a black background of 1920 x 1080 as a child. I am assuming each image requires a separate 1920 x 1080 black background image and when the sequence is complete set the "% of the slide to show main images" in the project options /default tab should be set to 90-92% depending on TV. Is this correct? Tony
  15. Hi Lin, Many thanks for your reply. In order to get a good quality image I am guessing from your reply I need to create the project using the"Fixed Size Of Image" box checked and come down to 800 x 450 to retain the aspect ratio and improve the quality of the DVD. I don't have a smart TV and the disc is for use by a third party as an educational sequence. I will give it a go and post the results. All the best Tony
  16. Hi Folks, I have just burnt a DVD using the default settings in PTE. Unfortunately the quality is really poor. On the TV it is extremely pale and the resolution is also very poor. I am obviously doing something wrong. The images are all 1920 x 1080 and the created video was 480Mb. The video plays on the PC with the correct colours/brightness but the resolution is poor. What am I doing wrong? I note there is a new DVD burning feature available but not sure if this is what is needed. TC
  17. Hi John, Sorry for delay in getting back to you. That is what I think I did and as I mentioned to Tom it worked OK. I hadn't realised that there was effectively an invisible scroll wheel on the Apple Mouse. Thank you for your help Tony
  18. Hi Tom, I dug out the old apple Mouse and gave it a few swipes as though there were a scroll wheel there and it worked OK. Thanks for the info. All the best Tony
  19. Hi John, Thanks for the reply. Not sure what you mean by one finger up/down. I have tried using Ctrl+Shift+ arrow keys up/down but all that seems to do is zoom the main window and display other open windows. Is that what you mean? Tony
  20. I am having the same problem but use a roller ball mouse with the Mac and unfortunately can't get to zoom timeline using this method. Any suggestions please. Many thanks TC
  21. Hi Yatchsman & Davegee, Many thanks for your replies. I have followed Davegee's instructions and this has resolved the issue. It is not often I need to produce a DVD and have previously lived with the problem, however on this occasion I am sending the DVD to someone else and really wanted it to show correctly on his TV. Where would we be without the forum. Thank you again for your assistance it is appreciated. All the best Tony
  22. Hi All, I hope someone can help me. I have produced a sequence using images of 5" x 7" and 7" x 5" and made a DVD of this sequence. Unfortunately when viewed on the television the images are stretched and squashed to fill the screen. I have set the sequence project options for the aspect ratio to 3 x 2 which is as near 7 x 5 as I can get and have tried the "Fix Size Of Slide " both checked and unchecked. Neither has solved the problem. When running on the PC there is no problem. Am I missing something or is this a common problem? Many thanks Tony
  23. Just an advance notice of the Leeds Audio Visual Group 38th Annual Colour & Music Spectacular which takes place on Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March 2013. The show is believed to be the longest running annual audio visual event in the world and raises money for Wheatfield's, St Gemma's and Martin House Hospices and has donated some £20,000 to these causes. The event takes place at St Chad's Parish Centre, Otley Road, Headingley, Leeds LS16 5JT at 7.30 pm each night and tickets are available at £6 each from Tony Collinson on 07831 093824. As the show usually plays to a full house of 200 people each night obtaining tickets as soon as possible is recommended. We look forward to meeting up with members of the forum at this event. Many thanks for your interest Tony
  24. Hi Peter, Many thanks for the post. So far things seem to be working OK but I will certainly give your idea a try. All the best Tony
  25. Hi, Thanks for the post. I am hoping that by using either "Run application or open file" or the "Open web page" commands along with the appropriate web address e.g http://www.wnsoft.com will allow other users to access the linked files on the internet. I am putting together a disc for our local club with various bits and pieces including various links so I am hoping they will be able to visit the links directly. All the best TC
