  1. Brian, I do not want to discuss technical details here. The feature that I described has been adopted from m.objects (Wings Platinum offers something similar). It is used by professionals (like Michael Martin) who run their shows semi-manual, part runs synchronous, part runs asynchronous (show stops while the speaker makes a live comment (length unpredictable) with the asynchronous music in the background). For this application you need asynchronous music with synchronized crossfade sections. Regards, Xaver
  2. Here "Video Player" only denotes a (rather new) style for the normal navigation bar. Presently it does not have an exit button. Regards, Xaver
  3. This will not be sufficient. For an asynchronous clip we need a "synchronous" (fixed) time interval. Only inside this interval the asynchronous clip will play (typically in a loop), regardless if the show is running or if the show pauses. At the start and at the end of this interval it should be possible to program fades for the asynchronous clip. This will allow us to define precise crossfades between the synchronous and the asynchronous parts, independent from length of stops during the said time interval. Regards, Xaver
  4. It would be fine if PTE would provide speaker support as it is offered by the well-known German/Austrian competitors. First, it would be fine if we could declare audio clips as synchronous or asynchronous, independently. So in cases when the show is stopped (because of a speaker wants to make a live comment) an asynchronous clip would go on playing (e.g. as background for the live comment). With the present tools (e.g. envelope) it would be easy to program a crossfade from the synchronous audio to the asynchronous audio just before the time point when the show is to be stopped. As the speaker's time cannot be predicted we need a mechanism for the crossfade back to the synchronous audio at the unpredictable point of time when the speaker has finished and has re-started the show. It may also be fine if we could place stop points anywhere on the timeline, and if asynchronous clips could run in a loop. Regards, Xaver
  5. Use the show setting: "Close show after last slide" Regards, Xaver
  6. When using the Air style or the Sky style, you can have an exit button (if want to have it). When using the Video player style you can click on the end of the timeline of the navigation bar, in order to place the cursor to its end position. Regards, Xaver
  7. Das Benutzerhandbuch für Version 7.5 liegt nun in deutscher Sprache vor: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/user-guides/7.5/PicturesToExe_Handbuch_v75_DE.pdf Gruß, Xaver
  8. Sorry, I am a mathematician, and people of that kind do not discuss on the correctness of a definition (as long as it does not include a contradiction). A definition is correct by definition, and I just gave the definition of 100% as it is in the present mathematical model used by PTE. You do not seem to like this model, but it is well-defined and free from contradictions. It is up to you to propose another model, or to extend the present one by re-introducing some kind of original mode. Why not? Keep in mind that an original mode typically refers to a screen resolution, and the machine on which you program the show must not have the same resolution as the monitor on which the show will be presented. The present size/position tool in PTE takes care for this aspect. Regards, Xaver
  9. IMO = In My Opinion (Internet slang expression) Regards, Xaver
  10. That's true, and also in my opinion, the PTE model works well. 100% means that an an image exactly fits or covers the screen (independent from the real, fixed, or virtual size of the screen, and independent from the pixel dimensions of the image. This is a definition, and as a definition it cannot be false. If someone does not like this model, that's ok. On the other hand, PTE works with scene graphs (parent/child model) and relative coordinate systems, and from this point of view, the parameters are well-defined (IMO). Regards, Xaver
  11. In my Local Settings I can find a new folder called WnSoft-WaveCache. It seems that in all cases when you add some new (formerly not used) audio clip to some PTE project, the PTE program adds some entries into this folder, even if you do not save the project. Although I have not yet done any serious work with the new audio features, until today, my WaveCache showed a size of 1 GB. Wouldn't it be good to have a function in PTE in order to manage this cache (e.g. to give a limit for its size)? Regards, Xaver
  12. Maybe, we need a history window as in Photoshop or Audacity Regards, Xaver
  13. Can you describe your requirement in more detail. The option "Synchronize soundtrack and slides" has not changed since version 5, I think. Regards, Xaver
  14. A good idea. But do you have another good idea how to enforce your suggestion? Regards, Xaver
  15. Maybe something like that. Regards, Xaver
  16. I would regard the present behavior as a useful feature Regards, Xaver
  17. Did you notice that in DaveGee 5.exe the rendering does not work well? There are jagged edges (missing anti-aliasing). Regards, Xaver
  18. Question: Is it a bug, or is it a feature that in the O&A window you can only undo or redo actions that have been done during this particular O&A session? Perhaps not bad!? Regards, Xaver
  19. That's why I would recommend to use the new function of Auto Recovery. Regards, Xaver
  20. I do not really know what "fratching" means, but I have an idea about it. This forum is a place for discussions, and if someone comes up with some kind of nonsense, it should be allowed to clarify the situation. Regards, Xaver
  21. In this context, these shortcuts are nothing but useless. Regards, Xaver
  22. For me it is at the extreme right hand side of the screen. Regards, Xaver
  23. In my opinion: Ctrl+E is to be used to shift the slides' transition points. If an audio track is locked, you can move a single clip with Ctrl+Mouse, or using Shift+Mouse moving a clip together with the ones that follow to the right. Regards, Xaver
  24. Hi Umberto, In principle, this is a very good idea. Maybe that the project file (ASCII) is not the correct position, what about a data base file in the project folder? Regards, Xaver
  25. Please tell me: In which way does your post refer to Umberto's proposal? Regards, Xaver
