  1. Hi Ernest, After 20 years of working with digital pictures I've learned to never change the naming of pictures. My workaround is to go to Windows Explorer, or Bridge for Adobe adepts like me. Then I make a copy of the slide there, give this new copy the new name and import this one in PtE; never make such changes in applications like PtE or the like. One day or another you'll notice the missing of your slide! regards, Henri.
  2. Hi Peter, No. I didn't install any plugin for Quicktime, but of course it's very well possible that some downloaded application did. And I remember to have updated some new Apple software recently.. My iMac is a normal 20" machine made in 2008. My advice is to try Lin's suggestion first, update your system software and if all that doesn't work let me know... regards, Henri.
  3. Hi Lin, thanks for this marvellous tutorial. I downloaded it with my iMac and it works very good with Quicktime for Macintosh! And by the way, for years now I'm admiring your marvellous hat,(of which I don't know name or brand or whatever of course), but remarkable it is, just like you. So, now I've said it! Thanks again, Henri.
  4. Hello Daniel and Gilio, Thank you both for your quick replies! I didn't find this in the new pdf-manual, but it's a blessing to have a forum like this..... regards, Henri.
  5. Thanks Dave, but yes, it does... 6,0 beta15 regards, Henri.
  6. Yesterday I downloaded version 6 Beta 15; after installing I don't see a 3-D button in O&A -> Animations. In fact, I don't see a 3-D button anywhere in the application.... Is there something wrong or do I something wrong? regards, Henri.
  7. Igor, In my opinion we always must use hardware acceleration; in fact we are carefully choosing a computer with a appropriate graphical card so it seems very obvious to me to use this (rather expensive) equipment! Moreover, in the near future I'm convinced that more and more applications are using the combination of the mainboardprocessor(s) and the nowadays very powerful graphical cards... regards, Henri.
  8. Igor, thank you vey much for the new version 6(beta). All new possibilities are not only very useful, but are enlarging my creative skills as well! And of course I'm very grateful for the new Mac executable addition... And, while you and your team are working on a real Macintosh version, I'll be glad to do some beta testing again. Just a pity that Apple in the new iMac 20" doesn't use a separate graphical card anymore, as I've read it's a shared version now like the Macbook is using. The 24" version seems to keep a separate card. regards, Henri.
  9. After reading all this valuable comments it seems to me that maybe the default setting for zooms, pans, rotating must be 'smooth' instead of 'linear'? Anyhow, after inspecting my shows it proves that I'm using 'smooth' most of the time.. regards, Henri.
  10. Hi Barry, I saw one of your shows (the old shipyard) and it played very well on my InteliMac; and it's a beautiful slideshow too! Thanks. regards, Henri.
  11. Igor, I have the same experience and I too think it is a little slitch in the 5.7.(11)beta. I am also asked to provide my (very valid) Deluxe key; after activating the registration everything works as before, but I have to provide it every time I make this exe file.... regards, Henri.
  12. The new forum layout is OK with Firefox on the Mac. But on the iPhone(used by me for 50% for web and e-mail, mainly when not at home of course), the font size is more or less a disaster. It is possible to enlarge text, but in that case one is always forced to scroll, and unnecessary; and the previous version was so good.... regards, Henri.
  13. Great... does it move in all directions? regards, Henri.
  14. Igor, I'm sorry, but on my iPhone the new text is really too small and I very much miss the member at left with his/her specifications... The previous version worked very good on the iPhone! regards, Henri .
  15. Hi Lin, How right you are! Of course there is a lot of interacting between image and sound. For me personally it's even more complicated because I normally work with Apple Macintosh... PtE is the only Win-app I use since the picture quality is so marvellous! My sound editing is done in Logic Pro and after that I import the complete soundtrack into PtE. After that I have to do all the things you describe dictated by the soundtrack... In my opinion only a full interaction between image- and soundtracks at the same moment can do justice to your creative feelings! And Xaver, As we are neighbourcountries I think the situation here is the same, but I don't think it is hopeless; if only the users of competing apps have seen the image quality of PtE (and that's what you see in the dark, the projectionscreen)!! Just the reason why we are using PtE now and not one of the applications you named anymore? In the meantime I'm very grateful of course that Igor and staff is working on a Mac version since that takes time and energy too... And thanks to thedom for starting this poll. regards, Henri.
  16. Hi John, I think the correct term for what most members asking for is 'synchronizing' regards, Henri.
  17. Hi Ron, thanks for your reaction. No, I didn't use the "Backup in Zip" option, because I still think that causes a downgrading of my slides (see my second question). So there's no way for PtE to recognise my (exactly the same) files and pictures on the dvd? regards, Henri.
  18. Some time ago I made a slideshow with PtE version 5.5; recently I wanted a new exe file of this show so I started the old 5.5 version with no problems. After that I tried to load the slideshow from the backup-dvd I made at that time. but PtE refused to do that; I only see blue lines with in thick fonts the missing path... As far as I can see PtE only want to see the harddisk with the files and pictures from two years ago, but in the meantime I changed that hd for a new one. I know that it's possible to create a backup in PtE itself, but that is a zip file. I'm wondering what happens to the slides in that case; the pictures are compressed jpeg's allready, so I suppose, as the zip file is compressing again, the quality of my slides is worse. regards, Henri.
  19. Now that we have a Macplayer with a really marvellous quality, and being of some assistance as a beta tester, I like to say that the professionally and friendly way of having contact with the WinSoft team was impressive. Developers like Igor and Dmitry proved to be very effective and we, as PtE community, can be verry happy with this clever guys for working on our favourite application... When some betatesting for the real Mac version is needed, I'll be glad to help again. regards, Henri
  20. Hi Ed, Eric and others, Although being a professional, some things 'you do for fun and love' as Ed stated; so I founded a Photoclub just 30 years ago, because I thought and still think that photography and AV(slide)-shows for many people can be a very healthy way to occupy yourself in an artistic manner... And just because of this conception we decided to have no rules at all, with one rule as exception and that was: NO competion. Well, how do you say that in English: proofing the pudding is eating it, (or something like that): the proof is that we still have 63 members, doing photography and a hardworking subgroup making digital AV shows! All this creates a sometimes critical, but nevertheless very friendly atmosphere and I'm convinced that this is just because we don't have any competion! regards, Henri.
  21. Hi Peter, Xaver and Ken, Many thanks for your very useful reactions.. Yes, I have Vista sp1, so I will switch to DirectX 10. regards, Henri.
  22. Hi Lin, Thank you very much for your comprehensive answer and your advice. However, after reading the link you supplied one more question came up: What version of DirectX must be installed to work with PtE 5.6 and/or 5.7? I'm using version 9c now, but I understand there also exists a version DirectX 10. Thanks again, regards, Henri.
  23. Maybe this question is asked before, but in the forum I didn't find an answer.. After 5 years my barebone computer needs some renewing. Can anybody tell me which state-of-the-art graphical card nowadays is capable to handle the requirements of PtE 5.7? I regularly do movements, zooming etc. in PtE. I understand that 512MB is the norm now? It must be a silence type, so no cooling fans or whatever that makes unnecessary sounds... regards, Henri.
  24. Hi Lin, Thanks a lot for your comprehensive explanation, very useful for all of us.. I remember somewere Igor warned for sharpening in connection to the moire-effect during zooming; maybe you can tell more on this subject? regards, Henri.
  25. Hi Geoffrey, Read the thread 'PtE and the Mac'... regards, Henri.
