  1. In PtoE we have some transition effects, from curling pages to mosaic etc. Some of you will probably know the professional presentation application 'Info Channel Designer' , not suited for us, because there is no facility to sync to a soundtrack. But, this application is provided with hundreds of transition effects for pics and text and sometimes(I say sometimes!) so many choices can be very attractive. So maybe one of the forum members does know of a possibility to use transition effects from a third party, more or less like a plug-in or something? And then I mean a lot of effects to choose from... Henri
  2. Gilio, many thanks. Shame that the price in Europe is about 3400 euro and in the USA according to Igor 3000 dollar: and that's about 2400 euro! regards, Henri.
  3. Can anybody tell me: is the Epson 1080UB the same projector as in Europe the Epson EMP-TW2000? gr. Henri.
  4. Marvellous Ken, 24 dB is fantastic... (by the way, marvellous forum too). regards, Henri.
  5. Brian, you said: "Provided the Laptop/Notebook has sufficient Memory (+256mB) and a decent Processor it will run PTE.4.48." I suppose you are talking here of the application itself, or about exe files as well? regards, Henri
  6. Igor, The specs for this projector are indeed a break-through, but I can't find anything about the noise level on the Epson website. Maybe you can tell us more about the noise of the machine? This can be very important, for instance in a room at home. Thanks, Henri.
  7. Igor, I'm sure you and the WnS-team are doing a very good job! Period. But, maybe scj is right in saying that some technical info "for dummies" like her can be more visible at the first glance; for us, using computers for a long time, things sometimes are too obviously. For instance, you wrote "Slideshow may skip slides and transition effects if you used very large images and close interval between them.", but how can she know the meaning of 'very large'? What exactly is very large? I think even for us the meaning of very large is not always the same. For the rest I like to say that all the advice, and especially in this case the clear and professional answers of Brian Conflow, are really priceless and that said, much better than a 'refund'! Henri.
  8. Hello Annette, Did you buy Pictures to Exe the Luxe? With VideoBuilder it's a piece o'cake, really. I'm convinced the set up is so easy that every newby can make the dvd (at a very good quality) in a snap. Go to menu -> View -> Advanced options -> Create DVD on Video button. Then, at the bottom of your screen you will see a button 'DVD' . Click and follow the instructions. regards, Henri.
  9. Hello Mark, you said: "If you intend it to be played on a 1024x768 projector - the set PTE to show 1024x768" However, I don't think you can set PtE to show 1024x768, at least I can't find anything in the menu's for a command like that. Maybe you mean to make the pictures 1024x768? Or set the laptopscreen? gr. Henri.
  10. Linda and Ken, Many thanks for your suggestions.. Henri.
  11. Maybe this topic is discussed before, but I can't find anything with the forum search engine so here we go... Sometimes I read this forum with my mobile phone, using Internet Explorer Windows Mobile 5.0. That's not a racemonster, but it works and for instance in the train it's very convenient. For me it is fascinating to see this latest developments in the miniature scene: for the new iPod Nano you can download podcasts of tv and tutorials for Photoshop and Lighroom, to mention a few, on a razorsharp screen! So I have two questions: 1. Would it be possible to make podcasts of Pictures to Exe shows to use on your own iPod and 2. Maybe the masters in this forum are willing to publish their very good tutorials as podcasts too?!? gr. Henri.
  12. Hello André, You're quite right, Bridge is one of the best, but the only way to work with Bridge is to buy Photoshop CS, and that's very expensive. Remember we are talking here of programs in the price range of PtoE and PixBuilder; Photoshop Elements is also a possibility, but Elements unfortunately doesn't come with Bridge! I think (but of course can be wrong) that for the average user of PicturesToExe, PhotoShop CS is a too expensive purchase... And Lightroom is not really cheap too. gr. Henri.
  13. Hello Judy, I fully agree with Lin; after more than 40 years in 'the audiovisual world' is to have a good workflow a continuous and ever changing process, simply because the developers of hard- and software always are some steps ahead. I made my first digital print back in 1992 and sometimes I'm still surprised by the things coming out of my printer now and , as a consequence, still developing my own skills... (which was, apart from that, in the analog world of the sixties or seventies not so different ;-). I think the best thing you can do is to work out the workflow that suited you (and probably only you!) and then every year make some small corrections , dependable of the (new) equipment or a new version of the software you use. And stay with the software you are familiar with while developing your skills, unless you see something promising like I saw PixBuilder. My point of view in this case was that, as a user of PtoE, it could be useful to work with software build by the same guys as PtoE. But, because of the fact that I always shoot in raw, and also the very useful answer of Lin Evans, I decided to stay with PS Elements, just because of the good raw-converter. And sometimes I use Canon's free Digital Photo Professional. And yes, I also store my pictures on harddisks; however I don't know what is happening after many times of making a copy on a new harddisk..... So sometimes, when I think the shooting is very important, I also make a backup on dvd or cd, but then I use an archival or so called gold cd or dvd. And yes, a good cataloging program is essential; indeed Picasa is not so useful for cataloging thousands of pictures; I use Extensis Portfolio for many years now. In my opinion one of the best, but in the meantime not cheap anymore ( and with the same problem as Lin described for Photoshop: you have to buy a new upgrade everytime a new Raw algorhythm is showing up!). Maybe one of the forum members knows of a cheaper but also good alternative. All the best, Henri.
  14. Igor, in my opinion you can use both words, but most of the time is an international expression the better choice, at least in my experience as TV producer in a small country more often than not it was the best way to do, because everybody all over the world knows what you are speaking about. But I have a question: is the annoying effect you described not often the consequence of using small lines in the picture, for example bars in a window etc. and as such inevitable? regards, Henri.
  15. Hello Lin, Thank you very much. I said 'addition' , but indeed it's better to say that Pixbuilder and PtoE can be a good team together.. But then, can Pixbuilder manage a 8bi raw plugin? Henri.
  16. Pixbuilder seems to be a nice addition to PicturesToExe, but can anyone tell me whether I can use the application for the raw files of my DSLR? Henri.
  17. In Project Options, under the tab 'Main' unfortunately the button 'create screen saver (.scr)' instead of 'create slide show (.exe)' was selected. I wasn't aware of that and full of joy had created an exe-file (yes, that is possible in that case) and burned the whole thing on a CD, just to discover afterwards that opening the exe-file was not possible; after right clicking jou only can click 'testing'. Can't we have a warning before making a exe-file if this button is selected? Henri.
  18. Igor, you said: "Integration of timeline to main window is going well. It really looks much better now in main window with ability quickly switch - Slides list or Timeline." I think that's just the flavour Pictures to Exe need to make it a really professional program; thanks a lot for your efforts. Now only in the same timeline the possibility to use two or more soundtracks, with little handles to fade in and fade out. Then we can do professional sync in real time! Henri.
  19. Luc, Ziet er fantastisch uit; ik heb er een eerste blik op geworpen en zal de eerstkomende dagen alles eens goed uitpluizen. Echt zeer educatief; je zit zeker in het onderwijs? Met dank en h.gr. Henri.
  20. Thank you Ron, As you can see in your guestbook, I did.... It's a pity that I can't apply slide transition effects to added images/objects and the slide transition effects only apply to the main image, as some of you told me. So to see you know a lot of PtoE, Ron, maybe you know of a workaround for this particular question? gr. Henri.
  21. nobeefstu and jevans, thanks a lot for your very quick and adequate answers; I'm more and more convinced this forum is one of the best to enjoy! Henri.
  22. Thank you. You wrote: "must be hand-crafted in the O&A. This is the PZR artform..." Where can I find more information on this subject? Henri.
  23. After opening the objects and animation window I can add text and images. After adding one or more images I can add keypoints for each of these images and move or zoom them etc. I also want to use one of the transition effects for this images, but so far I can't see how to do this. Can anyone tell me how to achieve those transitions to the added images? Henri.
  24. Hello Arthur, you wrote: "I do use Elements 5 which does not have the Actions feature. Is this available in Elements 6." "I am not an expert with Photoshop but I think Elements will be able to handle anything that I want to do." I 'm still using version 5 too, so I don't know about the Actions in version 6, sorry. As I said before, I'm convinced that Elements is well suited for PtoE users; and concerning the price of PS CS3, I think that the price of Elements also is more on PtoE level. gr. Henri.
  25. Brian, you said: "No wonder that so many 'Cross-Platform' Programs are in development ~ thats a good thing because Windows users won't be left Hi-&-Dry in the next 10 years. Igor has anticipated this and he is to be commended on a good business decision in bringing PTE to Mac users and eventually to 'Open-Source' users." Brian, being producer/director for TV I also know the neverending confrontation with new developments and, most of the time, advancements... I'm sure we fully agree with the things Igor and his team are developing, and yes, of course open-source software must be part of this. gr. Henri.
