  1. O&A window, Common tab - "Run slideshow" and "Run slideshow With return" enable option to view on Screen 2.
  2. Version 6 beta 15 Run "Slideshow option" in the Common tab of the O&A window is not passing on "Command line parameters". In the example slide below - SlideShow runs on Screen 1, not Screen 2. Passing the Command line parameters from a Batch File, the show appears on Screen 2. as expected. Preview button also displays on Screen 2 if the option is selected, proving the 2 Screen setup.
  3. Hi Manfred Right click on the image with the mouse, this will make it appear full screen. Press "PrtScn" (print screen) on the keyboard, this will copy the image to the windows clipboard. Open a graphics program such as "Irfan View". Use "Ctrl V" or the "Paste command" to copy the image into the program. Use the "Save as" command to save the image in any format you wish. Ken. P.S. You can press "PrtScn" while a slideshow is running to grab a frame, though some authors use the option to prevent this.
  4. Hi Dom As a follow up to Lin's observations. Intel Core 2 duo E8400 (2 x 3GHz). 2GB Ram GeForce 9500GT. 1GB Ram Monitor Screen resolution 1600 x 1200 (32bit colour) Windows XP Sp3 Shows appear to run identically, the screen resolution appears to be a significant factor, change of colour depth does not affect frame rates. Using "FRAPS" to measure the frame rates, results as follows. ( free download at http://www.fraps.com/download.php ) Note - FPS (Frames Per Second) generated by the graphics card is not the same as the Monitor Refresh rate, although they may be synchronised. 800 x 600 ------------------ 75 mr ---------------- 75 fps 1024 x 768 ---------------- 75 mr----------------- 75/38 fps 1280 x 1024 --------------- 60 mr ---------------- 30 fps 1600 x 1200 --------------- 60 mr ---------------- 20 fps Over clocking the graphics card using "Vtune" a utility supplied with the card resulted in an increase to 30 fps at 1600 x 1200. At 30 fps the shows are watchable. I choose not to use this setting as I have no wish to run the graphics card hot. Down sizing the images to 800 x 600 did not reduce the fps, in fact it is better. At 1024 x 768 (native resolution) and higher resolutions the fps goes down. This suggests that it is the graphics card rather than the system spec which is significant. Regards to all - Ken
  5. In 5.6.2 running a slideshow from menu, results in a seamless transition from Menu to Show, and from Show to Menu. In 5.7 beta 2 the Desktop shows between each transition. See the demo files in the zip. Menu_demo.zip
  6. Hi Douglas I downloaded yout pte, inserted my own images to replaces the missing image files, retained all your other settings. The Pte ran perfectly i.e. full screen from Preview, and Preview from current slide, using Pte 5.6.2 on Windows XP Sp3. I suggest you try running the Pte with the associated image files, on a different computer if you have access to one. Alternatively post a shortened version, say four images long, and include the image files in the zip. Regards Ken.
  7. There remains an anomaly with the "Run application and exit" command as a menu option. Opening a downloaded *.exe file in Windows XP Sp3, flags up an "Open File - Security Warning" if the publisher cannot be verified. Un-ticking the option to display the warning, enables subsequent action to open the file direct. "Run application and exit" will fail if the warning is active, acknowledging the warning, un-ticking the display option will allow access. I'm not suggesting this is wrong, obviously the warning has to be heeded, just something to be aware of when constructing a menu.
  8. Hi Folks I have devised a simple method of simulating a change of cursor appearance when positioned over a button. Place an invisible object (frame) over the button, adjust to size, then program it to function as a button. Finally de-activate the button. I am not suggesting it as a solution to the problem, as the majority of users of Pte will be un-aware of this technique. It may convince the doubters of the need, and possibly persuade WNSoft to provide the option. I hope you don't mind Daniel, I have taken the liberty of applying this technique to your menu, to demonstrate the effect, and to show how it is applied. Regards, Ken test_menu_yemen_2.zip
  9. Hi Daniel I'm backing you on this one. Regards, Ken
  10. HD - Full screen mode and normal mode: very smooth. System: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 (2 x 3.00GHz) - 2GB Ram - GeForce 9500GT 1024MB Windows XP Sp3 Home Edition - IExplorer7.
  11. There is no point in having button which has no action associated. The third sentence of my post alluded to this. The suggestion is, that it would allow for the creation a more attractive and intuitative interface and furthermore provide confirmation that a button will react. Users of the Internet expect a visual clue whenever the cursor is positioned over an active object while exploring a web page, I believe that the same expectation applies to a menu created in Pte, irrespective of type of object encounted. I also suggested it could be provided as an option for those of us who would prefer it to work in this way. Regards, Ken
  12. Version 5.6.1 fixed the problem with mouse cursor, so that it now changes form over an active object. This does not include "buttons". I can understand the reasoning of why this may be the case. Though I believe that a Menu created, in which the mouse cursor changes to a finger, to indicate an active button, would be more attractive and intuitive. A good example is the WnSoft Forum page, on which the arrow cursor changes to the pointing finger, when over an active button. If this suggestion does suit everyone or every situation, then perhaps it could be offered as an option.
  13. Hi Ed The short answer is, there isn't one. The working pte is overwritten by the saved version. If you look at the bottom of the screen where the file location is displayed, the word "Saved" is now shown. Ken
  14. Igor Will the vectorization of text include text added, as a comment?
  15. When the repeat music track button is ticked in the projects/music tab. The music track will replay, but the waveform of the repeat is not displayed on the timeline. A simple work around is to add a second instance of the track in the music tab. If it is the programmers intention not to display the waveform then the work round will suffice, otherwise it needs a fix.
  16. On first operation of the Create Button an option to confirm the name of the exe as the pte, or to rename the exe file is presented. In other words a "Create As" function. Subsequent operations of the Create Button overwrite the original exe without asking for confirmation. This can result in the original work being lost when the intention was to save a variation on the original. I know the correct procedure is to make a Save As on the pte, then do a Create, but it's easy to forget. Confusion can arise because Create implies the creation of a new file, whereas to overwrite is a Save function. The additional security this would give, more than offsets the steps required to confirm the name of the file when using the Create Button to save.
  17. Hi Peter I'm pleased that you can re-produce the problem. I too think it must be a software bug, that needed to be brought to programmers attention. All the best. Ken
  18. Peter My normal method of working is to have View...Advanced Options...Show real slide in mini-player selected and Show real slides in slide list not selected. Whichever combination of these two options is selected, the problem is still evident. It also occurs whichever pair of images is selected, on slide list and slide panel respectively. As previously stated it only occurs when the Slide panel is accessed and returned from the slide list in Timeline view, no problem if the slide List is in Slide view. Regards, Ken
  19. Release Candidate 5.6 and previous betas. Slide List in "Timeline view" (Problem) 1. Click slide, on Slide List. - Pre-view panel (mini player) shows slide. 2. Click slide, on Slide Panel. - Mini player updates. 3. Click the original slide on the Slide List. - Mini player view does not update Click any other slide, on the slide list, and the mini player window will update. Slide List in "Slide view". (No Problem) System Spec: Windows XP Sp3 - Intel Core2 Duo E8400 - 2GB Ram - Gforce 9500GT . Same on my older system which is: 1.4GHz Athlon - Gforce2 Titanium.
  20. Digital SLRs and Raw converters offer a choice of sRGB or Adobe RGB as an output colour space. Adobe RGB having wider colour gamut than sRGB may lead some to assume Adobe RGB is the better choice. This may be correct if you make your own prints and follow a colour-managed workflow through to the printed output. For display on a Monitor, Projector, or the Internet which is what PicturesToExe is all about, then sRGB is a better choice. Not my advice, I don't claim to be qualified, but gleaned from the web site of Ken Rockwell who is. http://www.kenrockwell.com If you would like to know more visit the site, do a search on sRGB, then follow his reasoning. Incidentally the site is a mine of information on all things photographic, an entertaining read, well worth a visit.
  21. Pte 5.6 beta 16 and earlier betas. 1. Sticking Image in Mini-Player, when in "Real Slide View" see previous post. (symptoms have returned) Careful observation of the sequence of events, detailed below, will reveal the point at which the Image freezes. Click - Slide A on the Slide List or (Timeline View). Click - Object and Animation Button. Make a noticeable change to the appearance of Slide A, so that the change is obvious on exit. Cilck - Close to exit O&A window. Observe carefully The Image in the mini-player window. You will see - first Slide A before the O&A change, then quickly the result of the change applied to Slide A. When the problem is evident, the Image freezes on the First Image, the Second Image does not appear. The problem occurs whether or not changes have been made in O&A window, but occurs more frequently if the O&A window is exited without making changes. It is better to observe the above with the Slide List in basic view, as this mode does not update, on exiting O&A. Note - Clicking on a Slide in the File Panel (which has no O&A data) will un-freeze a Stuck Image. The occurrence of the problem is un-predictable. (timing issue?) The sequence of events detailed above suggest a "bug" that needs to be brought to the programmers attention. System spec - Windows XP Sp3 - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (2 x 3.00 GHz) - 2 GB Ram - Gforce 9500GT Typical file is 1600 x 1064 JPG of 300 - 400KB, makes no difference if larger files or smaller are used. On my other computer, System spec - Windows XP Sp3 Athlon 1.4GHz - 1 GB Ram - Gforce 2 Titanium. Not possible to re-produce the Sticking Image effect. (not quick enough?)
  22. The Mystery deepens - I attempted to load version 5.1 to see if the problem was there. The program appeared to load, then I got an error report when the program attempted to load settings from 5.6 beta 15. I ran the un-install to clear out the files of 5.1. Amazing - 5.6 beta 15 now works as expected. Perhaps there was some garbage lurking from the earlier version of 5.1 on my system. Thank you all for your replies, I will report again should the problem resurface. Ken
  23. Sorry I didn't include version details, these are - 5.6 beta15, earlier betas also System spec - Windows XP Sp3 - Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (2 x 3.00 GHz) - 2 GB Ram - GFORCE 9500GT I must stress, the problem is only when the mini player is in "Real Slide View". Clicking slides in the File Panel change as expected. Only slides in the Slide View (along the bottom of the screen) or in Timeline mode are affected. Peter After Step 2 on your list, you have to go into O&A on that slide, then exit and click on Slide B. The Image in mini player stays on Slide A. After several clicks on different slides, the Image will change to reflect the slide clicked on. ( Is it a timing problem, fast processor ?) Thank you all, for your replies, Ken.
  24. 1. Sticking Image in Mini-Player, only when in "Real Slide View" To demonstrate:- Click - Slide on the Slide List or (Timeline View). Click - Object and Animation Button. Click - Close to exit (no changes are necessary). Click - Alternate Slide on the Slide List, Image remains on the original Slide. This problem is inconsistant and may need several attempts to demonstrate. When the the Image "sticks", clicking on several different Images will prompt a change. Sildes in the File Panel are not affected, clicking there results in immediate change of Image. 2. Minor problem - the "up and down" arrows in the Time Box adjacent to the Timed Points Button in Timeline view don't work.
