  1. Hi Mark, I think it's always going to be a work in progress, but glad I was able to put in some missing Photos. Thanks, Davy
  2. Ifa, I probably could have spent some more time touching up the photos, but I didn't want to go overboard. A few were covered in specks and marks, but generally not too bad. I'm just pleased to think somebody would think I had a 'Best' AV. The aussies were an unruly bunch. Not having the pomms stiff upper lip. The millitary were wary of the consequences of these Australian troops and their negative influence on the compliant British troops.Based on what he had seen, a British officer who toured the Australian sectors was so impressed with them. He asked that any doubts over them,be removed. Later in the conflict these Australian troops were ordered to be held back at times,as they were a bit too keen. They had a fearful reputation for getting the job done. Australia suffered the highest relative casualty rates of the allied forces. Thanks for the comments, Davy
  3. Hi Mark, Speaking of updating.I was waiting on an update to your first version of this AV. Didn't realise that you had updated it,so well done. The relaxing music blends in well the the Photos. Those Maori Bargeboards are stunning. Cheers, Davy
  4. Hi Mark, There is more than the 40 shades of green for me too. When you sort out your monitor though, would be good to see some more pics added to it. Post an update so will know when to download it. Cheers, Davy
  5. Hi Dom, This is a great production. I did have to view it a few times though. It might have something to do with not being accustomed to something as slick and polished. I first thought it was a bit distracting with all the effects. I thought, yes it would certainly stand up to being presented in the more usual way without effects, but the more I watched it and thought about it,leaving out the effects would also be less of a show. So it's a Ferrari,a Rolex of a show.Peerless. If you are helping to push the PTE envelope a bit further, then that's all for better.Even for those who aren't sure about it now. Great stuff, Davy
  6. Cheers Ken, Will do,looks like a bit of fun. It's hard teaching old dogs new tricks. In golfing terms I would be regarded as a 'Duffer',but I enjoy as much as anybody. Regards Davy
  7. Hi Ken, Thanks for that. Nothing to challenge Morasoft yet,but I'm working on it. Regards, Davy
  8. Hi All, Put up an AV on Mediafire called Fractal Worlds. Nothing offensive, except maybe a bit hard on the eyes.Might need shades for viewing. Pretty patterns and nice primary colours.Made entirely with PC wallpapers. If it'rs rubbish I'm blaming Ken Cox (He made me do it). At least the music is good.(I think) http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=01ea5a0...04e75f6e8ebb871 Davy
  9. Hi Barry, Yep.No Problem. Win 64bit Pro. (Not Vista) I thought you were changing quite a while ago. Cheers, Davy
  10. Hi Trailertrash, All the high hopes and tally ho spirit soon ended. Living in constant fear and watching your pals shot or blown to pieces around you. That was just for starters. Hell it was. Regards, Davy
  11. Hi Dave, Thanks for the comments. Lots of detail in some of the photos. I know that some music is overused now,but the Barber piece worked for me. Regards, Davy
  12. Hi Lin, You are quite right of course. Depends on what you want or need to do. The big one too is whether there are funds available for some of the overpriced software. I needed to buy some expensive sound software recently. Sonar8 Producer.I contacted their sales people complaining about this think of a number pricing. I plagued them and in the end they let me have it for half price! Having seen one of your AVs it didn't lack anything in the visual or sound department.Quite the reverse. Being friendly with one of the Adobe people,if I can track him down,I will see if I can blag a later release of Photoshop. If so,it will have your name on it. Regards, Davy
  13. Thanks Ken, Still downloading and watching the Morasoft AVs.Entertaining stuff. Regards, Davy
  14. Hi Ralph, I met with one of the 'Old Guard' a few years ago. As a PR thing they gave him a glass of champagne and supplied 2 dolly birds on either side of him. I can tell you that one of the dolly birds wasn't long jumping up. The old fella hadn't forgot his 'Pincer Movements'. Cheers, Davy
  15. Cheers Ken, Got the first one downloaded and see what you mean. Great imagination. Some volcano,5 million years on and still smoking! Will have a look at the others for inspiration. Regards, Davy
  16. Hi All, I have uploaded an AV of the First World War. It contains scenes of conflict and death, but nothing of a graphic nature. If you are offended by this, please do not download. I was working with a limited number of photographs, mainly from British sources. Some restoration was necessary in some of the photos, but I limited it as much as Possible. Can’t say that this is a final version, as new material comes along it may be included. Carnage was something not limited to one side or another in the war. This then, is respectfully dedicated to all sides. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=01ea5a0...04e75f6e8ebb871 Davy
  17. Hi Ken, Love seeing shows of all types. If you have a link to one of Morasoft's, be glad to see it. Am uploading the WWI AV now. The Zombie Driller Killer Butterflies AV will have to wait. Cheers, Davy
  18. Hi Paul, Thanks for the comments, But you can't really say things like that here,.......or can you? Guess you are going to be a few Christmas Cards light this year! Regards, Davy
  19. Hi Ken, Although we have become desensitised to war, many pictures would be censored from the general public. I'm talking people blown to pieces, body parts, decapitations etc. There are some images of death included in the show, but nothing that is graphic. In the context of the AV,I think that is fitting and respectful. The message comes across ok I think. War is something that dehumanizes us and I wanted to portray the human element. Nearly finished. Regards, Davy
  20. Mark and Ralph, Thanks for the comments. PTE is a great way to spend a few hours, or days,or weeks. Now faced with Big Brother 2009 and waiting on a beeb reaction show (Tatooing on Ice?),I might just be spending a bit more time on PTE. The variety of AV shows keeps things fresh, interesting and enjoyable. I am suprised at the ammount of detail in some of the old WWI photos. (Some too horrific to show). Should be worth a viewing for those interested in the events of 1914-18. Regards, Davy
  21. Thanks Ken, 1 singer,1 song ,1 AV. Anyways, doing a spring clean out recently I found some missing photos from about 20 years ago. Archive stuff from WW1. I had made an AV last year, but put it on hold as those missing photos were what I wanted to include in it. Nearly there though.Just syncing shell/bomb blasts. Cheers, Davy
  22. Hi All, Put up a little homage to the late great Johnny Cash. The content is based on his song. ‘The man comes around’. It is to do with the end of days, Armageddon. It is not Beechbrook material as it isn’t family viewing. Content is based on his lyrics and contains some pictures of life, death and religious images. Don’t watch if you are offended by that. It contains downloaded classical paintings, photos and computer generated art. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f04d77a...621d66e282a0ee8 Davy
  23. Hi Andrew, Glad you took things as intended.I would not want to cause you annoyance or embarrassment. I don't have the technical ability of some of the folks here. With that though,I have no ego to bruise. Good to see so many offering help and opinions. If the end result is that you win your competition, then we have all won. I only read of your show late on. Perhaps I was the only one who found it a bit ironic that here was the most imfamous death camp of all time and folks were picking up on spelling/grammer mistakes.(Yes I know it was to help, but you know what I mean). Holiday snaps won your previous show! You better have some pacemaker batteries at the standby for your audience then! It's horses for courses and I didn't know the background to this one. Good luck with the show. Davy
  24. Thankyou for responding to my reply to Andrew. I'm sure we all want to offer opinions and help if we can. I merely offered my thoughts. I just felt that an opportunity was being missed. I haven't given any critisism, other than to give my take on an alternative direction. 'Changing tack and a rewrite of the whole show'. A PTE show is hardly the Director's cut of 'Gone With The Wind'. It would be a dull forum if we all had the same points of view. I can agree on one thing with you though, and that's to allow Andrew to produce his show, the way he wants to. Davy
  25. Hi Andrew, Never been to Auschwitz and I don't think I ever want to. OK,I have a different take on things. Maybe the route you prefer not to go down, but bear with me. If this is for a competition, I think it needs something that I feel is missing and I don't mean spellings and grammer. It needs to be shortened. Most of the scrolling text etc, have none, until the end and even then, much shortened. The images contain your message. It has to have impact and menace. Your pics are well seen and taken, but the backdrop of blue skys and fluffy clouds along with lush green grass and maintained buildings, does not convey this. Taking on some earlier comments,I would split the AV into 2 parts both visually and musically. The first part to be in Grayscale with old photos and sound effect music to give the menace. The second part then to portray your pictures and your selected music,to bring it into a modern context. I downloaded some pics today (Google) and put them to very dark sounds. This is the sort of thing I mean by way of a menacing intro to your show. It's a different take, but I think gives you more scope to make something more interesting. OK,I uploaded an intro for you to look at.First time I have tried this,so don't shout if it won't work. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=f04d77a...621d66e282a0ee8 Cheers, Davy
