  1. No worries Colin, I'm more than grateful for the help. I've changed the font to a standard font as you suggest, and it does look better. I do love those empty fonts tho. I just have the timing on the 'credits' slide to fix and then a cup of tea is in order. I faded the credit slide also having increased its time on screen. Andrew
  2. Fixed the text and the grammar. I hope.
  3. OK, This thing is haunting me to. I keep finding errors. I'll set about the list now.
  4. AAAAHHHH! I should have seen that. Great call Ken and DaveG. Fixed. Andrew
  5. I fixed the crematorium reference. I actually wondered about that myself. Thanks Colin. Ken, Can you be more specific please. I dont know where your directing me on this one, and if there's an error I need to find it. Andrew.
  6. OK, Update: 1. Added a blank slide at the start and end to ease into the show. [2 secs each] 2. Ticked the keep last slide on screen box. 3. Added 2 secs to the credits slide [Photographer and music] 4. Faded text before zoom and centered text. 5. Corrected Grammar in the intro slide. 6. Changed to Roman Numerals. 7. Centered text via Grids in PS. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?n1zdngezryz 27.2 Meg 57 Slides 9mins 20 secs. This is a huge learning curve, but worth every minute. Andrew.
  7. Hehehe Never thought of that Ken. Damn you guys are good.
  8. I've fixed the issues mentioned above [i hope] and I made a new exe with keyboard controls. I hope I got it right, Im not familiar with the controls thingy yet. Here's the next draft. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?kj2mzznwhzw Andrew
  9. I fixed those grammar mistakes guys, and the scroll timings. Thank you. Its amazing what we miss. I should have left the mouse and keyboard controls available till I was finished, I will in future.
  10. I've applied all the advice and hits/tips and I sincerely thank you all for the help. This is the draft I think is best suited to get me a place in the selections for our club competition. I'd appreciate any further comments and fine tuning you may think would help. Again, thank you all. Andrew. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?higyw3mimgj
  11. Hi Lin, I do know the technique, but you know I never gave it a thought. So imagine this...Im standing at the gate of Auschwitz willing visitors to get out of my way to get the picture I want. How stupid can I be. I downloaded the programme you recommended and will get right into it. Thank you for the advice and the link. Andrew
  12. Hi Ken, Yes, Im working feverishly to get a rework done. I'll certainly post the show for further comments. I really want this onr to be the best I can make it. Andrew
  13. I loved it Maureen. [Ending aside] it was just fantastic. I'm saving it in my collection.
  14. John, Great idea. I have, since you mentioned it, tried to bring out the text, but its tough. I never thought of an overlay. Great idea. Yes I will submit a new draft for any further ideas and suggestions. I need all the help I can get.
  15. John, Im glad you like the show. The place was awash with visitors. Im glad it is so that lessons can be learned, but it makes photography difficult. I judt did what I could and hoped for the best. Its a very popular venue. Andrew.
  16. Patrick Thank you for the ideas. I just couldnt get a shot of the gate title without it being full of visitors. I just had to get what I could. Pity really its the one shot Im not happy with but need to use...sods law. Ive removed the red water pipes from the shot you mention. I will fix the mouse pointer. I forgot...sorry. The colours is not HDR, its just levels and curves, which actually can produce the same effect. Im glad you like it. Andrew.
  17. Yaughtsman1, Thank you for the help. I deceided to go with colour because Im not trying to recreate the image of the camp as it was, just the record of my visit. I actually have an image of the various tour groups coming to the end of the tours and are following each other along the paths by the gate. If I were to use this in BW it looks for all the world like a group would have looked then. Heads down [exhausted] and following on. I dont know if I want to use that one. I fixed the text. I never gave the seating plan a thought. Good call. Ive never done a voice over, but I like the idea. I'll give it a bash. Andrew.
  18. Dave, Thank you for the sound advice. I have taken on board your advice and will slow the credits down and have even added a scrolling list at the end. I will also include an opening preamble as you suggest. I havent got a clue about captions.but im inclined against them. I hope you dont think Im disregarding your valuable advice, but I hope the images speak for them selves. Andrew
  19. Ken, Thanks for the compliment. I tried hard to get it right on this one. This was a personal ambition trip, so it had to be as good as I could get it. Unfortunately its not at all wheelchair friendly, so I had to get on my sticks and step out as best I could, so Composition was determined by many factors not the least of which was stability
  20. I visited Auschwitz-Birkenau during 19th-21st of May and came back with 400+images. I want this subject to be my entry for our AVI night in 2009. Therefore the audience will be Camera Club members, but I would also like it be available on my web site to a broader audience. I broke away from the tour and went off on my own to take images that were not the usual tourist pics. In many places photography is discouraged, but I did manage to get some that represent the conditions of life and death in the camps. This visit has been the top of my wish list for many years, and to have actually made the trip was..well I can't tell you what it meant. The museum [that's it's status now] is so busy, getting pics without people in them is very difficult, but I did my best. The overview images of Birkenau are taken from the watchtower.Yes I've actually stood atop that awful building. The presentation is 7:15secs 24.6meg 49 slides I have tried various transitions and effects, but feel that a presentation of this kind does'nt need bells and whistles. The presentation can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zkmmmkitz2z I'd appreciate your thoughts and comments, and if anyone is interested, I've uploaded the presentation files for P2E to Mediafire if you'd like to have a play with them and maybe help me out for any improvements. Just PM me for the link. This one needs to be right, so any help at all would be appreciated. Andrew.
  21. WOW! That is Fantastic. The use of masks and the quality of the show is off the scale for me.
  22. Thank you all for the help and explinations about masks. I now realise that my understanding of what a mask is, is totally different to what it is in the programme. Dom's reply is what I understood a mask to be. An image in front of another with an aperature through which the image behind can be zoomed or rotated without showing the edges. I now see that I have to rethink my understanding of this programme. . I downloaded all the tut's linked above and now actually understand a lot more than I did, so thank you all for that. I'm off on a short 3 day trip tomorrow and hope to come back with enough material to create my entry for the CC selection in September. So get ready for loads of questions. Andrew.
  23. I have been trying, without success, to get the right dimensions for a mask. Just a bog standard rectangle mask with a cut out, to enable me to use the zoom function without seeing the edges of the image. I set the size of my attempt at 3400 x2200 but it just doesnt cover the image or fill the screen, thus allowing me to zoom the image sucessfully. I'm fairly sure this is a basic question but I need to know what outside dimensions masks should be to fill the screen. Any help would be appreciated. TT. edit: I realised I put this in the wrong section [Tutorials] Sorry.
