  1. Richhaus, You need to follow Al's advice but make sure to check 'close show after last slide' in Project Options for show A, so the last slide of this show is no longer available for showing. DEN (NE UK)
  2. David I guess you cannot synchronise to a music track if there's no music track to synch to ! I have wanted the same thing as you, but needed to insert a silent mp3 - no hassle once youve prepared a selection ( say 5secs upwards to several minutes ) and just add them to the play list as you have done. I understand what you're saying but I don't think it can be done - you need something laid down to synch with. DEN (NE UK)
  3. Thanks Ron Granot always turns up trumps ! I hadn't spotted this utility - I'll give it a try now, but it seems to be the answer for the moment (Igor??) DEN (NE UK)
  4. I can't remember if it was ever satisfactorily resolved - about the dangers of double-clicking on a P2E menu and starting several shows off with a resulting 'double' soundtrack etc. Can anyone put me right on this? DEN (NE UK)
  5. Then, as has been suggested earlier - make a template in P2E which is a self-contained folder with everything in it you'll need to run it from, wherever you store it. Seems simple enough! The template is stored in the 'templates' folder in the P2E programme directory, but can be copied and moved as required. I always use templates so as not to 'lose' any items needed in the future should I want to 'tweak' the show later. Good luck. DEN (NE UK)
  6. Thanks Michel, I think I have overcome this one now by using the 'Movie Maker' element within Nero Vison Express 3. .....drag & drop both video and audio files onto the timeline (with any effects/texts/animations etc that may be needed), and proceed to burn! Seems to work perfectly. I'm sure this could also be used to compile a DVD containing many separate shows with interesting links between them......... I need to investigate more. DEN (NE UK)
  7. I have used Tmpgenc to encode a P2E .avi (very smooth and speedy) and have ended up with two files - an .m2v and a .wav file. OK - now can anyone talk me through the process to burn a DVD from these files using Nero VE? I don't forsee or have a problem - I just would like to be sure before carrying it out. DEN (NE UK)
  8. Simon Why not give BreezebrowserPro a try ! It can tag images (for deletion?), also rank images (1-5), and compare up to 4 images simultaneously - what more could a club want! Den (NE UK)
  9. Granot I find that using your "ShowVideoPte" works fine - apart from when the video ends the Windows taskbar appears when returning to the PTE show. When called from a slide, the avi runs just fine without the taskbar showing, it just shows when it ends. I've tried using "HideTaskbar.exe" utility at the start of the PTE show - but still the Taskbar pops up. The show is running in full screen mode. Anyone else found this, and any thoughts as to how to avoid this happening? DEN (NE UK)
  10. Thanks folks Ron: Yes, of course I do this already - what I want is to end up with just one .exe file made up from several others. One day perhaps! Boxig: I understand - a file splitter utility, not specifically for P2E. Am I right? DEN (NE UK)
  11. Boxig I know I've debated this before in this forum but would, therefore, your proposed utility be able to 'join' smaller shows together? This is something which would enable me to work on a long show in segments and join them together at the end - is this wishful thinking?? DEN (NE UK)
  12. This subject, I'm sure is at the back of many people's mind - not just outdoor recording but 'simple' production of a voice-over. Is anyone prepared to give us all a blow-by-blow run down of their workflow to produce a commentary/ narration for a show (including relative sound levels for music/effects and voice)?? DEN (NE UK)
  13. Thank you Igor !! Our prayers are answered - the timeline now does just what is needed, and is so intuitive also. Whatever next I wonder! DEN (NE UK)
  14. Great stuff Igor I see that it only resizes proportionately ( 1000 wide = 666 high based on my Canon images) Is there any chance in the future of allowing a dissproportionate crop, based say on the centre of the image like many other (cropping) utilties? Still this is a useful utility to have around. Thanks again. DEN (NE UK)
  15. Ron Take a look at the Object Editor window in v4.4betas 3/4 - top right checkbox. Checking this adds a broken outline to the screen within which to add 'objects' which ought to be safe from being cut off when viewed on a TV - say on DVD. Den (NE UK)
  16. Thanks Igor for these latest additions in beta#4 - however I DO AGREE with Andrew on the matter of transition points. It really is important not to have the remaining points move at all, once positioned, when a point is removed. All we want to do is easily replace a slide into the same position on the Timeline! Im sure all will be sorted out soon. Your work is greatly appreciated1 Den (NE UK)
  17. Hi Joost, welcome to the forum. Try from the toolbar : view>language> english/german etc Although if you the language is set to Danish then view is 'view' (!) and language is 'sprog' (third from the top). PTE has a huge range of language versions available. Why the programme should default to Danish is a mystery as the default is English. Good luck DEN (NE UK)
  18. Nothing at all Granot - except that it ends up with maybe six or seven separate .exe files on a disk and maybe some confusion to the recipient ( I know you'll say - Autorun etc) but it was just a wish to streamline the process of producing a long show without necessarily preparing a long, involved, audio track in advance. It would seem though as if 'daisychaining' is the only way to do it - for now! Thanks for all your thoughts on this. DEN (NE UK)
  19. Hawk Thanks for the info in your email - BUT what I want to do is not run .exe files from a menu, nor from 'run application etc', but to join a number of separate .pte files, each with music, together to form ONE complete, stand alone .pte file. This would allow me to construct long involved shows in separate, smaller, manageable, sections each with its own music file, before combining all to make the final .exe for distribution. I think that unless Igor has something up his sleeve on this I will be disappointed. Thanks again DEN (NE UK)
  20. Kenny Yes this can easily be done - 'daisychaining' shows together. What we are looking for is a way to genuinely combine several separate pte files/sequences, each with its own audio track, into ONE pte file from which to generate a single .exe file. Any ideas? DEN (NE UK)
  21. Ron There's probably a lot of truth in everything you say ! I did indeed inadvertently press the spacebar one day while browsing in the light table to reveal this shortcut. regards Den (NE UK)
  22. Granot Your 'Combine' utility seems to still work with the new version(s), although it is let down a little by the inability to combine the music tracks associated with both pte files - it seems to just import the first show's music file. What's needed is the ability to genuinely combine two or more complete pte files . This would certainly help me as I generally make large shows in sections, each with its own audio, and sequence them together at the end. At the moment this involves a lot of new audio editing and slide spacing - almost a rebuild of the show. With a long show this can be frustrating. I have suggested this to Igor in another thread for possible inclusion in a future version. DEN (NE UK)
  23. Yes Harold - click on slide to select - then press the spacebar to see the slide full screen - when done, just left or right click to return to the light table view. I came across this by chance but find it very useful. Den (NE UK)
  24. Thanks for that Igor - seems to be OK now. I usually build long shows in sections and run one after the other, however I find that when the last slide runs the next show.exe there is a brief flash of the cursor between shows, even with all cursor actions cancelled. Is this something you can fix? It happens in this beta and previous version too. I feel that the ability to join separate, synchronised, projects seamlessly to one another would be a valuable addition to 4.40, although I appreciate that the audio may be a problem to join up. Any thoughts? Also can you tell us the use for 'importing transition points from another project'?
  25. Jill Figured it out : In show's project options > 'Keep last slide in show on screen', then programme the button object (or an image) on last slide, in object editor, to 'run application and exit'. This of course only works with a synched show when 'permit control of show' is checked in project options. Seems to work in this beta. Den (NE UK)
