  1. Jen Go to Project Options > Screen and check "Show first transition from desktop". You can also got back to the desktop from your last slide ! Take a look. Den
  2. Thanks for that useful information Igor. Can I ask you then to consider adding an option to hide the taskbar during a show until it exits and not to show even when another application is called from a slide? This will allow seamless integration of external applications without the taskbar becoming visible when they are called or exit. DEN (NE UK)
  3. Thanks Igor - it looks as if v.5.00 is just around the corner. Are you able to tell us if this version will support video in the show, and object layers etc.? A few advance hints would be good ! DEN (NE UK)
  4. Yes I believe so - here's the link to our discussion in November: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index....20&hl=showvideo I have the old version - maybe you could post it again with a different name? I have checked through your site and can find only this new version (1119kb), the previous was just 569kb. I also found Marco's utility there too - thanks. DEN
  5. I understand your point Granot, but I don't want to lose the previous version of "ShowVideo" you prepared in November which, apart from the cursor problem you are dealing with here, suited my purposes using a 1024x768 screen. Maybe I can run this utility several times during a show to use different videos and still have the positioning flexibilty As an aside, I cannot get your HideTaskbar to work with this utility - where can I download Marco's version? Thanks again DEN (NE UK)
  6. Sorry to jump in here Granot/Jean-Pierre Granot -I hope you can also build in the facility to re-position the avi anywhere on the screen as you did for the previous (single video) version of this utility for me in November last. It would certainly be the best if we could run a new video on each slide BUT ALSO position it relevant to background image(s) in the show as before. Thanks again for your dedication to making P2E even more versatile for us all. DEN (NE UK)
  7. Things are looking very promising now ! Does this mean we haven't long to wait for v5.00? I've got lots of projects 'on hold' just waiting to benefit from the new features. Seems like you're almost there Igor - we cannot thank you enough for your commitment to P2E's continual improvement. DEN (NE UK)
  8. Tony Press play - then pause (space bar) - then just click on the timeline at the point you wish to review - then press space bar again to review - don't press stop, just pause and re-click wherever you want to review the sequence. It is a bit disconcerting that the cursor returns to the beginning after stop is pressed, but once 'in play' movement around the timeline is quick and easy - just click ! ood luck DEN (NE UK)
  9. Tony I don't see this as a limitation in P2E's ability to present a series of images very close together, maybe just that your images are a little too large. Can I ask what file sizes you are using - also, the page effects may require lots of CPU work which could slow things down. Try using a more simple transition, which can be more effective, especially with titles. On the timeline, try reducing the slide spacing from say 0.5sec gradually to find the limit of your processing capabilities. I regularly use very fast 'changes' with no more than a couple of tenths of a second between images, especially when using the 'push' transition to create a pan effect ( roll on v.5.00 !!!) Take heart - it can be done ! DEN (NE UK)
  10. ........ and the easiest way to do that is to save youe show in template form. Here everything connected withthe production is saved together - a copy of all the images, audio, pte project as well as the .exe itself. That way when you wish to adjust the show PTE has no trouble locating all it needs to open the project completely. By default this template is saved in the main programme file (as .pt), but this can be changed easily from file>templates>manage templates. I find that this is a quick and easy way to ensure all the components of a show are together, even though I still save everything to disk (off the computer) as well. As has been said earlier here, always gather your material together in one folder as you compile the show. I hope this advice is useful to you, Seabird. DEN (NE UK)
  11. Igor Does this mean that a beta is due shortly so that we can all take alook and feedback our thoughts? I open this forum each day hoping to see an anouncement but sadly none. I realise you wish to fully complete your work, but have you any indication when we may see a beta - the waiting is so frustrating? DEN (NE UK)
  12. Muscle Download SY(P) from here : http://www.diapovision.com/articles/syp.zip This excellent app will sort out your problem in minutes, Written by Jean – Claude Senedal especially to compliment PTE, it provides a graphical overview of any PTE show- allowing changes to all parameters, and also to change the images/audio paths very easily indeed. Do please take a look! I feel this fine piece of software is underated by many PTE users. DEN NE (UK)
  13. Fuzzy Take a look at the excellent utility devised by Boxig (Granot) : ShowVideo. This can introduce an avi clip within a PTE show and it can be positioned anywhere on the screen. Full instructions for use are given with this free utility. Well worth investigating. See:http://www.thailandphotoalbum.com and look for the app. Until full integration of all video formats into PTE this seems to be the best solution so far. DEN (NE UK)
  14. Al - I reinstalled WMP and the others but still no joy. Thanks for that Ken - Dloaded VCL player and it works fine ! This still leaves me unable to use Nero Showtime, WMP & RPlayer but I'm follwing up your other suggestions. Thanks again. DEN (NE UK)
  15. Thanks Ken I recently installed evaluation copy of Blaze Media Pro for editing avi files. Before that I suspect all was well. I have removed Blaze now but the problem hasn't gone away. I run (unfortunately) win 2K, I did reboot, but not run chkdisk as yet. I'll give it a try. DEN
  16. All of a sudden my PC seems unable to play the video (VOB files) from either external disks or video files on my HD. AVI plays OK. I get an error message which apparently means the media player(s) cannot find a codec to process the video. I am at a loss as to what to do - there seems to be quite a few v.codecs in my system but neither Nero Showtime or Real Player or WMP seem able to play ( audio is OK on all these players) I don't want to go to a re-format and install ( not before Christmas anyway) Any thoughts? DEN (NE UK)
  17. And what a great Christmas gift for us all this will be !! Thanks again Igor. DEN (NE UK)
  18. Thanks Granot - you have excelled once again! This is just what I was looking for - and more! The controls are a bonus as are the colour and screen size adjustments. I'll give it a thorough try-out, but it seems that we are in your debt once again my friend. DEN (NE UK)
  19. Thanks Granot You can always be relied on to help with your utilities - PTE users should be very grateful that you are always looking after their interests. I wait to try a new version when you have time to look at it DEN (NE UK)
  20. I have Granot's excellent utility - ShowvideoPTE. I wonder if you might consider an improvement to allow positioning of the avi window. The window appears in the centre of the screen, which is OK for most purposes but it would certainly offer greater flexibility to be able to specify the exact position, relative to other background items/design. What do you think Granot? DEN (NE UK)
  21. Igor You tease us with your promises of things to come! Have you any idea of the timescale for v 5.0? I am considering reworking several shows and would like to plan this work. Are we talking days, weeks or months - before/after Christmas? I know we must be patient, but it's very hard with your tempting insights into the new version. DEN (NE UK)
  22. No - I would leave it at the default value of 60, it has no effect at all on a fade. Some good transitions can be made with a high value (300+) for say a wipe which seems to be very smooth, however a 0 value gives a hard edge transition to a wipe or gates etc - also very effective. It's 'horses for courses' with this one ! DEN (NE UK)
  23. Stonemason If you have rendered the avi at less than 100% then this band appears on push effect- so the compromise, I'm afraid, is to accept that the side edges of the images could be clipped on a TV screen, which is of course why the advice is to render slightly smaller (90-95%). I have had to re-encode several shows to 100% to avoid this black band when transferring to DVD. Roll on v 5.0 !!! DEN (NE UK)
  24. Sure is Ron ! DEN NE (UK)
  25. Is this an isolated problem for a few or are many others finding it incredibly difficult to access the Forum ? I seem to be able to connect only once in maybe three atempts and always with 'errors on page'. And its so so slow (about 30 - 40 seconds) to go between pages. I'm taking your advice Igor and being patient - but it is very frustrating ! Den (NE UK)
