  1. Colin, A really excellent presentation put together in your usual brilliant way. This time there can be no complaints about them not being your photos! And I just love Celine's version of the music. Well done. Afterthought - would I like a little white border? - not sure
  2. Hi Colin, A very imaginative show and well thought out and a very good use for PTE. Slight technical imperfections will be ironed out in due course.
  3. One thing I like to do in addition to the "Smooth" option is to fade into the zoom just after it starts and fade out just before it finishes. This means starting the zoom at the very start of the timeline and finishing it at the very end. You will loose a bit of the picture but it gives a very good effect.
  4. Like you Eric, and many of thousands (millions) of others, Live Aid was the start of my love affair with Freddy and Queen. Apart from being a great rock and roller, Freddy was a great musician - a fact that still has to be fully recognised. Thanks for the memories.
  5. In order to get a message across I found the screen time for the words conflicted with the moving images - not enough time to take in both. Whilst I appreciate that the pans and zooms were meant to be quick and sharp but maybe they were a bit too much particularly the zoom into pan sequence. But I did enjoy the show and did appreciate the message. Well done.
  6. Gosh! it does seem complicated. Maybe I would get to grips with it more if I had a modern HD TV and relevant media stuff but as I don't and as my wife says we can't have a new TV until the old one goes wrong (and it has been going for 12 years without one hitch) then I will get back to you when and if. I will let you know if himself has a problem with the mp4 and thank you for the time taken in replying.
  7. Thanks Lin and Xaver. I am not really up on video codecs and the like so I just used the default PTE codec first of all. I can now get and avi file but it is either huge (2.3gb) or very pix-elated (300mb)so I have sent him and MP4 file and hope this will work for him. If not I shall be back for more advice. When I get a few moments (hours), I will have a look at some of the other stuff on this section in the hope of acquiring more knowledge. Thanks again.
  8. Can I or how can I create an .avi file that I can send to my son who wants to play it through his media system. "Create avi" seems only to create a file for putting on a DVD. It creates a file but deletes it once you click on finished - or is there another way. Not too technical please.
  9. With the revision, I have now changed my vote.
  10. Hi George, My vote goes to number one although I think I would have preferred number two if the top lid kept a smooth run to the top before angling forward. Wasn't this how you had it?
  11. I guess you used panzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  12. Why can't someone express a view without such a connotation? Not worthy of you Patrick!
  13. Felt a bit under the weather yesterday so had another look at the show today in light of my comments above. I still hold the same view but appreciate that Colin didn't put it forward as "Art". However, whether art or not, the show is very well done - so congratulations on that.
  14. Well don't get me wrong, I quite like girly photos - not a problem for me. But to put a lot of girly photos on and surround them with swirls and think that is art - then it ain't - it's just girly photos with swirls.
  15. Thanks also for the answer to that as I had the same problem.
  16. Yes Eric, Tried that and sent it but site must have gone down at the same time and got timed out. Lost it in the ether and as it was quire long I wasn't going to do it again.
  17. Hi Snapcam, Thanks for your comments. I have been trying to send you a private email in reply but it does nor seem to want to go and I don't want it lost in the ether. Would you send me your email address, and I will send it to you direct. Sent to Email me Thanks,
  18. Lovely photos, Eric and Margaret. The Dales are on my list of places to visit this year - They may now have jumped to the top of the list. Well done.
  19. Very good George, I particularly liked the transparent circle and yes, the eyes did go a bit funny after a while. Lin's tutorial is very good and I learnt a lot about 3D Parameters from it. I added a tweek (which I am sure Lin has done) so that the images never go upside down as the cube rotates by rotating the relevant ones while they are at the back of the cube.
  20. Hi Eric, I thoroughly enjoyed your California Dreamin' slideshows despite the difficulties in transposing the video to stills. Maybe when Igor gets V7 up and running you can have another go. Must admit that I am slightly biased as your trip mirrors one we took in 1999 except in reverse. For us the Tioga Pass was open so we managed to take in Mammoth Lakes and a Ghost town (Badlands I think)on the way to Death Valley. A very memorable trip and thanks for jogging the memories.
  21. Thank you for the kind comments. Jose, Thank you so much for spending time to offer such helpful comments and even though I might, at the moment, not agree with then all, they will be tucked away in the memory for future use. Everybody has different reasons for producing Slideshows (A/V’s) and I suppose at the top of the list for me is to showcase my photography. So I want most of my photos to be shown in the composition I have decided and not cropped by panning and zooming. Where I use pan and zoom it is for a specific reason – the zoom-in on the hillside was to indicate that that was where I was going and the next photo was from the top of the hill. The music I chose, I thought was restful rather than sad and the slow transitions I thought added to that restful feeling. However, some others did not like the music, so I will look again. I did use the “smooth” button on the pan and zooms, which is supposed to give the effect of starting and finishing at zero speed but may not be obvious as I have faded into and out of these frames. I agree, I should take more detail shots to mix in with the landscapes – difficult to remember when confronted with such scenery. I doubt that I have the artistic capability or the attention span to produce a show like “Um dia – em Agosto but this is all part of a leaning process and your work and comments are part of that. Many thanks, Mick.
  22. This is a complete re-make of photos taken in 2008 and 2010 with, hopefully, some improvements in photos and presentation. A bit longer than usual but I have been encouraged by Maureen and by Jose's recent work, so if you get bored you can blame them. If not, then comments and suggestions will be gratefully received. Third one down on my A/V Page
  23. Hi Jose, Quick replies to your comments:- "First" - Download speeds in UK are generally low unless you are on Cable, so this may put people off. However, you have encouraged me to put on a show on our Lake District which is 10 minutes long, so I hope you at least will watch it. "Second" - I was going to add that the frame may work better on a 16:9 TV although I think the width of the frame should be the same all the way round. It looked very odd on my 4:3 monitor. I am not sure of your comment to Mary about "PTE experts". I am sure most of us can learn something from your work.
