  1. Please anyone, do not be put off by the length of this show or the time taken to download. I found it thoroughly enthralling with new visual interest around every corner and sound effects and music to match. This certainly was a "tour de force" and an inspiration to me at least to try some new techniques. Shame about the frame.
  2. I have been playing around with the 3D Parameters and spent a considerable time trying to produce something similar to The Doms Photobox. Finally I have managed to get something similar but not so sophisticated and I am sure that my workings are nowhere so elegant as his. I have popped in front of a little show of our firms outing but have added some 3D effects here. In particular, I have tried to create a moving camera effect in three of the frames where the foreground people move with respect to each other and move with respect to the background. The photos and the photo-shopping are not great but I would appreciate any comments. Available top one on My Web Page
  3. Excellent night photography with perhaps a few too many shots of the cascading lights on the sailboats although they looked very effective. I seem to remember a lot more people around when I visited Honfleur. Personal thing I know but I didn't like the music but it did not spoil a very nice show.
  4. Hi David, Here is my version of Lin Evans 3D cube to which I have added some abstracts to the cube but also some simple movements created with the 3D Parameters. These are not in the least artistic but I am sure after some practice you could produce something worthwhile. I am also attaching my PTE file so you can see some of the workings but I do recommend Lin Evans free tutorial on the cube which you will find hidden away under Tutorials. Hope this is of interest and please contact me if you want any advice bearing in mind that I am far from an expert. 3D Cube Show 3D Cube PTE file
  5. Hi David, Very nice abstract images and nicely synced to the music to give a very relaxing programme. I have played around with your software and incorporated some images into my version of Lin Evans's 3D Cube and thought the use of the 3D parameters would be add a new dimension to your abstracts. Have you tried it?
  6. Hi Malcolm, I liked your presentation with full screen page turn for new cities and info and the photo set in on a background. The photography was first class with the low light shots working very well. Although the music was catchy, I did tire of it towards the end and wonder if different music for each venue may have worked better, however, this did not spoil my enjoyment. Thanks for posting.
  7. What an amazing festival and your presentation was first class. The variation of transitions and the PIP's together with the very appropriate music maintained the interest all the way through. I was moved by the enjoyment, enthusiasm and belief of the villagers that you have managed to convey.
  8. Now that really IS a "slideshow" - boring or what. Thank goodness for keyboard control. Hey! but great photos.
  9. Hi Greg, I very much enjoyed your show and it brought back memories of my visit some years ago. There was lots of movement, which was very well handled and it was good to see some of the many features of PTE being used - a bit of a rarity in many shows. I liked the background painting effects fading to the photo proper, a very good way of dealing with the portrait shaped photos. I did think some of the zoom-ins started a bit jerkily and I think I would have started them during the transition rather than after. The music fitted perfectly and, of course, Patti's photography was excellent. Well done indeed.
  10. Hi Maureen, Yet again a beautiful A/V with spot on music and of course exceptional photography. I think I am one of the despairing ones but I accept that you do not want KB control - but where else can we just see the photos and spend time looking at them? What about Picasa or Flickr or one of the many sharing sites? PLEASE!
  11. Now I've been a member for some time I'm getting to enjoy these jolly posts, and I've learnt that Barry will always be involved, if not the instigator. Let him be precious about his A/V's, for my part you can do what you want after you have view my A/V's through once - or perhaps I only do "slideshows"!
  12. Hi Barry, A very nice show if not amongst your very best. I liked the sound effects and the music grew on me. The transitions I found just right and not over-long (as perhaps in some of your previous work) and the photography was, as usual, first class. Shame there wasn't any wildlife to inter-space the trees. Oh, and take it as a compliment if someone wants KB control to study your work in detail even if you have the photos in your gallery. I am sure everyone would view the show as you intended prior to going back to use the keyboard. I am still trying to persuade Lakelandlass to set up a gallery or allow KB control but no luck yet. All the best for 2011.
  13. Nice show Davy, giving a very good "feel" for Venice. I am waiting on my Brother-in-Law to send me his photos of Venice as I said I would do a slideshow for him. Depending on the quality of his stuff I may supplement it with some that you have used. I'll ask him if I can post it here as it will be interesting to compare. Good luck for 2011.
  14. I cannot find any words to add to the above to show my appreciation for your show.
  15. Watched it a couple of times before commenting and ,blow me, somebody has got in first to claim the ladies. Great show, well put together and a Happy Christmas to you.
  16. Hi Colin, Absolutely fascinated by your show on Whitehurst, especially as having lived and travelled in Kent extensively for 40 years, I had not come across it or even the village of Chainhurst. Now I have found out where it is, I shall definitely put it on my visit list for next June and maybe see you there. I think your voice-over worked well especially as it is the only one you have got. The only thing I found a bit jarring was the rapid zoom-ins. Sometimes a fade from the wide shot to the close up can be more effective but otherwise a great show. Thanks for posting.
  17. Great photography and a well put together show although I did find transitions run a bit fast in places. Good choice of music.
  18. I think you get so involved in doing a show it is a good idea to give it a rest for a day or two and then you can review it from a somewhat detached perspective - and as you say, tinker with it some more and go thro' the procedure again.
  19. Great photos and I certainly look forward to seeing more. The presentation is not for me as I found it increasingly irritating for the photos to be always on the move but I can see it is useful for passing round on the Ipad to family and friends especially if you use the keyboard control.
  20. Thanks Andrew for putting them on your website - a potted history of the Irish "Troubles" in 25 photos. Well done.
  21. Hi Andrew, Of course I defend your right to produce the show exactly as you want. However, when the content is of such interest it would be nice to have the opportunity of studying the photos on another platform - if not thro' the keyboard then your website for instance. I have the same conversation with Lakelandlass who I regard as the best amateur landscape photographer I know. She does not allow keyboard control but does not show her work on any other platform (as far as I know). I think it is a great shame.
  22. Hi Andrew, Well I did know they had wall murals in Belfast but was astonished and the artistic quality of them. I was also impressed by the vibrancy of them, so guess they must be "tarted" every so often. Thank you for the education and for doing such a good job stuck in a bus seat. It might have been nice to have enabled keyboard control so I could spend a bit more time reading the wording. What I did read gives an explanation why the problems there have been so difficult to resolve. Mickp
  23. Very impressed that you shot all those in three hours. Passed within 20 miles of you some years back on the I 95 on the way to Miami. I think this was a once in a lifetime trip though. Mind you, I have just Googled 'Golf Courses' - now there's a thing! Mickp
  24. Hi Bill, An amazing array of flora and fauna you have on your lovely island (just Googled it) and very well photographed and presented. It has inspired me to do more close up work in my photography. I did find it a trifle long and as Greg says this could have been the music which was a bit repetitive but asn excellent show overall.
