  1. Also check on the timeline that you have gaps between each transition. Ron [uK]
  2. Why do you need to flatten the image? From my layers I combine them to whatever image I want and "Save for the web" without disturbing my *.psd file. Ron [uK]
  3. I have created an SVCD using "Easy CD Creator" but I suggest you look under "How to create a video" on this forum. There is loads of useful information there. Ron [uK]
  4. Thanks Al. Followed your advice re "Indexed Colour" with success. Ron [uK]
  5. Ron & Al Since I upgraded to Photoshop CS, I have not been able to get PTE to accept my *.ico (Ico (Windows)) file prepared in Photoshop. I have to open it in Irfanview, then do a Image>Decrease Color Depth>16 colors, then reverse the process Image>Increase Color Depth>256 colors and save. Then it works. Don't ask me why. Ron [uK]
  6. What do I think about your suggestion Daniel? I hadn't really given it real thought until now, but I must admit that I have found that the two slide Push Effect appears more natural than viewing the full 360 degrees. In my opinion, the recent one of a church interior would have been far more pleasing if it had been organised to fade from one two slide Push Effect to another. Ron [uK]
  7. Congratulations Maureen on your website www.digital-av.co.uk with loads of useful and interesting information and congratulations too on your DPAGB distinction. I have read your notes and will experiment with your "AV show user" setup in due course. However, for the moment with two shows on one day and providing my Royale for a neighbouring club's annual AV competition the next, I will stick to the devil I know. Regards Ron [uK]
  8. Ron As far as I can tell, without working it through, Jim's explanation matches the system which I use, as mentioned in my earlier posting. Good luck. Ron [uK]
  9. See the second paragraph of my posting today under PicturesToExe Presentations>New Sequence and my IntroDemo on the Beechbrook Site some moons ago. Ron [uK]
  10. Like you Peter I am always making sequences or working on images for them, unfortunately mine do not come up to your high standards. One which I showed yesterday at Mid Thames AV Day was "Say it with Flowers". It started with me trying to emulate your method of building up an image by cross cloning from one image to another. I used some of my flower pictures, then, not wishing to waste my cloned effort I used it for the title to the sequence. Another sequence, which I showed yesterday was made after a Club outing to Lacock and was completed within 48 hours of the event complete with voice over. As regards my comment on the Startup window, I agree with your reasoning. I use an image of some sort to return to after a sequence but my next sequence is under an invisible button and I can hold whilst I give a few words of explanation. For instance for our SCC AV Group productions this year I have placed portraits of the members around the Club logo with a hidden button beneath each to open up their particular sequence. There is also a button beneath the logo which will open up our combined effort on which we are working with arranged photoshoots. I regret that I have not entered the event. I keep forgetting to go to the site and when I do I find that I have missed the closing date. Ron [uK]
  11. I think I recognise the author of this sequence. The no longer necessary use of the Startup Window, the need to use Esc to close the show, the clever use of cloning and isn't the Aire a Yorkshire river. I think I had better pass on this one. Discretion is ......... Ron [uK]
  12. I generally retain my *.psd files without flattening so that I can go back at any time and alter things. As regards use in PTE, I File>Save for Web at whatever combination of layers that I need. For instance an opening title sequence may consist of two or three combinations of layers on top of an original background - Filtered Background; Titled Filtered Background; Titled Background and Background. Good Luck Ron [uK]
  13. On the link given by DaveG the PLUS U3-1080 is listed. This is the unit used on the Royale Projection System, the equipment used in the UK at the International and National Festivals. See my website for the specification of my Royale. Ron [uK]
  14. Well done Ken. You have shown perfectly what is achievable if only we can get rid of that smallest of pauses between frames. The only place where the join was noticeable because of brightness variation was at the end of the pan and moving on to the beginning again. As it is unlikely that one would go round again in a presentation, this may not be a problem after all. Roll on (excuse the pun) that extra bit of fine tuning and then the zoom. Ron [uK]
  15. Also, right click on the slide in the Slide List or on the image in the Light Box where you wish to start and select "Start preview from the current slide". Ron [uK]
  16. Thanks Igor and to those who helped. Downloaded satisfactorily. Ron [uK]
  17. There are three ways (1) Project>Actions on File List>Add Selected picture(s) to Slide List; or (2) Drag and Drop from File List to Slide List; or (3) Click or Double Click (depending how your mouse is set) on the item in the File List. Or have I misunderstood your query? Ron [uK]
  18. Peter The rate of pan is adjusted by the timing of the push slide effect. As regards your other queries I do not know the answers other than that the fade into the next slide is governed by the effect chosen and its timing. Best wishes. Must exchange some more sequences sometime. Ron [uK]
  19. By using the "Push effect". A two slide "panorama" is smooth whereas there is a hesitation when adding a third which cannot be timed out no matter how much you try. The original panorama is created in a picture editing programme, such as Photoshop and cropped into the sections required. I start with a canvas slightly more than 2 or 3 times 1024 pixels width and 768 pixels high and build my panorama on that. I then crop in a set of 1024x768 sections and finally resize each to 1025x768 so you cannot see the join. Most of this I learned from an article by Ian Bateman in the RPS AV News. That is my way but no doubt Ken Nickles will respond in due course. Ron [uK]
  20. Great Ken. I have now seen images which I cannot remember having seen in the original version. The extra piece of music fitted perfectly and blended well. Thanks again. Ron [uK]
  21. It is hard to criticise your presentation because the quality of the imagery is so good. So I hope you will take what I write as a compliment. I wanted to be able to spend just that little bit extra on each image so I began to count the time between changes and found the time on screen including the fade was about 3 to 4 seconds. Try something like 8 seconds total including a 4 second, maybe longer, fade. Obviously you would have to halve your number of images to fit in with your carefully well chosen music, but it would be worth the experiment. Best wishes and thanks for your presentation. Ron [uK]
  22. Nigels I use Adobe Audition having upgraded from CoolEdit eighteen months ago. However many Forum members have recommended in earlier threads Audacity, which is a shareware program. If you initiate a search for Music Editing you may find out more. Good luck Ron [uK]
  23. My latest is 5 secs Guido to 15 secs WnSoft. But Al, Guidos request for tests by European PTE Users. So far only two of us have responded. It is sunny in my part of the UK at the moment, maybe that is why. Ron [uK]
  24. Guido On my equipment the *.zip file took 5 seconds, yes 5 seconds, from you compared with 26 seconds from WnSoft. Ron [uK]
  25. Unchecking "Display slide for" is what is used in Conflow's "Manual Slide Show" plus setting of Advanced>Mouse buttons to Prev slide and Next slide. Ron [uK]
