That's normal, Ken, it's a file without sound, just use to synchonize in order to have the good time, if it wasn't synchronized, it will lost several seconds each hours on many PC. With this file it's good (I made a test on 48 hours). It's possible to change the file "syncho.ogg" by another one which must be an hour long.

The first I did wasn't synchonized, it loose about 4 seconds each hour on an old PC. The actual version is synchronized, and after 48 hours of test on the same PC it's absolutely correct.

Morasoft, thanks for all, I am better and will probably put others templates, but it's a hard work for me to translate. Tom, it's easier to do an analogic clock than a numeric one as you thought, I search the best way for that, I did one last year but only on 10 minutes and the length with the method I used would be awfull on 12 hours. PTE isn't the right tool to do this kind of effect, but this test show that it work well even with enormous file. If I find a solution, I'll explain it here.

I just finish several exemples of a clock we can put at the good time and screensaver including a chronometer to know how long time you stopped to work In the zip file, there are 3 templates, one in order to prepare the presentation, one to create an exe and another to create a screensaver (We can choose the format, the place of the clock and change it). There are also 2 Exe (one is format 4/3, the other 16/10) and 2 screensavers. There are 60 pictures which are displayed. The exe is in windowed mode, there is no utility for such a "slideshow" to be fullscreen. The explanation about how to use the templates will be done in some days (problems with translation, longer than to do these templates). These templates are very big (33 Mo and 45 Mo) The size of these albums is, with not modifiable watch, without step at each second and without the good time : 258 618 lines for 720 slidess 356 538 with the location of the watch by means of files (97 920 lines for this option) 1 213 338 to have 60 steps per minutes for the seconds (856 800 lines for this function) 1 639 578 to be able to set the watch right (426 240 lines for this function) You need to have at least 512 Mo RAM for the first template and 1 Go for the second one, the exe files can run on all PC. To put the clock (only for exe) at the good time, click on the good hour, to change the minutes by step of 5 seconds, click just above the center of the clock (left=minus, right=plus), to change the minutes by step of one minute, click under the center (left=minus, right=plus). To have the good time for te second, put one minute more than the real time, make a pause with the right button of the mouse until the time is same as on the watch. The time continue to be good even you reduice the windows in the taskbar. The file zip is here. Of course, it's free

Thanks to you, I am back and read, since yesterday, many posts I hadn't read. This forum is always interesting and I'll try to go there everydays. During this long period, I was enable to finish a work, but I always work on PTE, which become better and better. So I am still abble to answer correctly to technical questions about use of PTE, what I'll do. I must thank all my friends of Diapositif who help me during these bad days.

I made a lot of time ago a tutorial in french about this subject, even it's in french, maybe you could understand, because there are some screencopy, it's here. I made also several exemples of the same zoom, but the number of slides (and pictures) are different for the same result, but the total size change. It's here. To do that, I only use PTE and Paintshop Pro, nothing else. It's a 20:1 ratio zoom. At this moment there wasn't coorection of perspective, but it's very easy to change them to use this option. May be that can help you. Note : A french/english tutorial about the method I use to have 2 differents pictures of the same subjet exactly at the same position. it's here. You just have to add the utilisation of the zoom.

Only the authors of these sequences can answer. Most of the PTE users make "collections of images set to music". If we want to see a sequence as you describe, it's easy to go on DCCN. May be one day there will be an english DCCN.

Pour les utilisateurs français de PTE Oui, et il y a déjà pas mal de temps, plus de deux ans. There is a french forum, dedicated to PTE the name of which is Diapositif where you can find help, tutorials and hundreds slideshows to download, all made with PTE, amongst them more than 60 with V5. There is another more non-specialized forum, Diaporamaforum, on which there is also help for PTE. Nothing prevents from joining both, there is no risk of exclusion for that, and that take less than 24 hours. Another forum, also non-specialized, DCCN for slideshows which have been in festivals and so on, where there are many tutorials about PTE and other tools. At least, you can find tutorials on Marcel Boi's page "Déclics et montages" and on my own page about V5 Moritz : Si... Et d'autre en Chinetoque et d'autre en japonais .... même en sélène. I'm not sure to understand when you speak about only two fonts which can be used. I just re-installed windows XP, I didn't installed fonts and I have already about 100 fonts by default. I my version there are 69 fonts from XP, but it's very poor and there are less than 10 fonts we can really use and which are not necessary in Windoxs 98. Most of the shows I see with V5 since there is the text use fonts which aren't on my PC. I really would like those pre-animated effects, which can be applied to text - but to other objects as well ? - without spending hours to build them myself. It's like transition slide effects: most of them can be done manually but it's a lot of work. If I remember correctly (I couldn't find the post), Igor already told us he will implement a kind of shaking effect for pictures. That's exactly the kind of effect I am looking for. But there are a lot of others which can be interesting and useful too. I can understand that, if it's not only for fonts. And if you want to distribute your slideshow, you can include the font (with subfolders) in the archive and the end user has only to unzip it on C:/. I'm not sure it's such a big problem, is it ? Yes it's a big problem. I have put since several years the fonts I used in my show in a zip file on my page, and I know that peole dont often install the fonts, it's often I receive a mail which say that the text are outside the screen or ask how to install a font. But of course if Wnsoft can include the font directly in the exe, the dream becomes true. Yes but may be there is a problem with the copyrigt of the fonts, that's right it would be nice. If the effects are for objects and not only for fonts it must be perhaps interesting.

One of you asked me how are write the speed parameter of PZR effects in PTE file. As it's enough difficult to explain (and in english impossible for me) I made a draw (french and english) that you will find at this adress.

I did some AVI file with different sizes (they are on Beechbrook Cottage) by using the Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2. You can find it with Google.

Good, but with possibility of effect on the mask and effect on an object and its children or not ?

To day, PTE load in the graphic memory all the files use in the actual slide and the next 2 slides. Would it be possible to load and decompress in the memory of the PC (but not in the graphic card memory) more slides (for instance 10 or more) when the processor doesn't work at its maximum. So it would be possible to have several short slides each after the other. It would be better for slideshows like those of Stéphane Bidouze for instance (we would earn for several slides the time PTE need to read on the hard disk and the time to decompress jpg or wngfx files).

I used in the past Mediashow which have this feature, but if we can't have the fonts which are used in the slideshow inside the exe, I think that the effect on text will not be very interesting. You can only use arial or new times roman without problem, and make effect which will be used on these fonts isn't a great feature. What do you think about that ?

It seems to be the same thing I asked here but without possibilty of effects on the mask.

Igor, I think as Dom that "Perspective correction for Zoom" isn't a good idea, people think that now zoom doesn't work when they start at 0.001% to 100%, they says that the picture appears as a cut (it's quite normal, but difficult to understand for several people who tried #12)

What would be very great is to associate at a picture or at an object with all its children an alpha layer in which we can put a W&B picture with its own PZR effect, it would be possible like that to do a lot of effects, for instance make moving the part of a picture with opacity at 100%.

To day we can have an effect between 2 slides, it would be nice to have the same effects on an objects and its children. For instance we could put a curling of page for an album. It would be also nice to have the possiblity for some effects as hour hand, rhombus, rectangle to do as for circle : change the center.

There are 2 different problems. First, often a PZR effect start after a little time, I had this problem with V8 and have no solutions, a second problem "smaller jigers" can be correct by different method. We can see easily them when the power of the card is low but also with powerfull card but there are small. The reason is that the total of calculation change during the effect. For instance if a PZR begin at the beginning of an effect between 2 views, there will be a jigger at the end of the effect. If a full screen picture have a zoom betwen 0.001% and 100% you can have a jigger. What I do to correct that is to have always the same calculation to do for all the duration of the PZR effect. For instance for the zoom, I put a second time the picture of the zoom under the others. I change the opacity with 2 keypoints (1ms between them) at the beginning of the PRZ effect from 0% to 0.4% and at the end from 0.4% to 0% in order there aren't more calculations before and after the PZR effect. During the PZR effect, I put on this second picture that we don't see an effect at the opposite of the first on (zoom from 100% to 0%), generally it's enough, if not, I put a keypoint in the middle of the effect and change zoom 50% by zoom 87% in order to have a better linearity for the number of calculaltion. Another exemple if I have a picture outside of the screen which come to the screen with a pan effect, there is often a jigger, so I put under all the object a copy of this picture that I put at opacity of 0.4% only during the effect and which is in the screen when the original picture is outside and is outside when original is inside, the 2 pictures have the same speed, so that the number of pixels inside the screen for both is always the same, with this method there are absolutely no jiggers even on old graphic card. There is only more calculations to do but always the same quantity from the beginning to the end of the PZR effect. I have use this method on several Diapositif's members slideshows and the result is always good on all the PC of Diapositif members.
