  1. When I open a project having a missing file, PTE will show me a window as shown by the following image:

    MissingFiles-1.png.bf307dba176ffd7e172d0e0a48ada424.png

When I click "Find Selected File", an explorer window will open:

    MissingFiles-2.png.acdb8375f767e8d7bd7642a034369db0.png

Here it would be better to have the option to choose "all files", and not only jpg-files, as it may happen that I would like to replace the missing image-1 by another image that isn't a jpg (e.g. a png). Presently I have to navigate to the corresponding folder and have to type the name of the new image (e.g. image-1.png).

Splitting your clip up in Audacity will increase the file size as you will be using lots of single clips instead of just one.

I don't think so. If you open a larger audio clip in Audacity, cut it into several pieces, and export these pieces, you will end up with approximately the same size.

If they are on the same track you cannot link them to the same slide even if they have different names.

You can do it anyway, but not in the timeline. You can link two clips to the same slide, even if they are on the same track, but you have to do it in "Project Options > Audio". The slide number will be marked red, but it works (while crossfade will not work).

  4. I apply a style in which not all images are main ones. When I save the project, PTE will add a folder like "project-name.resources" which contains images that have been stored in the style folder. Furthermore, the project addresses the images in the resources folder using paths of the following kind:
         "%store%\Slide Styles\{01471180-92EB-43B6-9464-E23422BC3578}\..."
This can cause trouble when copying slides created by the style to other projects (missing images). I know a workaround, but I would prefer standard (direct) paths to the said images.

This is the problem: If someone writes in French all non-French speaking members have to use a translator (Deepl /Google). This is why I normally do not answer to those posts. IMO the original poster him/herself should deliver the translation :)

From the forum rules: WnSoft forum is an international forum. All messages must be in English only. It is acceptable that a post can be written in a foreign language and supplied with a full English translation.

  6. Maybe a possible workaround : Create a separate PTE-project (call it Pool). Drag all objects from your image/video folder(s) into this project. Go to the full screen view of the Pool's slide list. There you can arrange things as you like it. You can also remove objects without deleting the original files. And you can use copy and paste to transfer things from the Pool to your real project.
