  1. I wrote in an earlier post regarding having problems playing back Mac executables on my Mac G5. Shows made on my new Dell PC just won't run at all on the G5. I have now recompiled a sample show using my wife's Acer laptop and the resultant file now plays back perfectly. Both machines have Windows 7 installed incidentally and both versions of PtoExe are the same. Clearly there is some sort of incompatibility between the Dell that manifests itself when compiling for a Mac. At least I know how to get around it even if I don't know the reason! Shows compiled on the Dell do run however on my Mac Book Pro. Something very strange going on..... Malcolm
  2. Hi, I have created a Mac executable (ver. 6.0) which runs perfectly well on my Mac Book Pro - nice and smooth, sound ok etc etc. However, the same file will not run at all on my Mac G5 of fairly recent vintage. The G5 is running Leopard OS (Intel chipset) and the Mac Book is running Snow Leopard OS/Core I7). Has anyone experienced similar problems? The file just sits there and refuses to do anything at all... Cheers - Malcolm PS. A sample Mac file that I downloaded from Barry's site works fine...
  3. I have patiently awaited the "Mac only" version for over 6 months now. Whilst I have looked and tried other Mac Slide-show software, I remain so impressed with P2exe that I can't wait for its eventual launch. However, I was told a release would be available this summer and now I am advised it will not be until the Autumn. There must be a lot of frustrated Mac users like myself, which represents a huge market!
  4. When I create a MAC slideshow, using a PC computer with Windows 2000 (yeah, I know it is ancient and unsupported BUT I do not want to change my entire network and virtual private network until I REALLY have to.) I get an error message that says no images when slideshow is played on a MAC. I have tried sending both methods to my clients, creating a ZIP file and clicking on create. I read the user guide and searched the Forum to see if this is a common problem, and was unable to locate anything that would help me. Therefore, I am concerned that either my operating system is the problem or could it be because I have a start-up window with links that access PDF's on my website. I need your help, please. I have several clients begging for a MAC slideshow, which is why I purchased Deluxe. Thank you for your time and attention.
  5. I recently upgraded my Macbook Pro to one of the new models that came out in April: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM, Snow Leopard 10.6.4, Intel High Definition Audio, Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (512 MB) I also have a Mac Pro running Leopard. I have about 10 slideshows in OSX app form that I've created from PicturesToExe 6.0. They all run fine on the Leopard machine. On my Snow Leopard machine, I'm having issues with 4 of the 6 shows. Two of them exit immediately. Two others play, but with no audio. The six other shows play fine. I've tried rebuilding the four problem shows with the latest 6.5 beta, and there is no difference. The problematic shows are similar to the ones that work, in that they all use MP3 audio files, similar screen size, etc. Any clue as to what could be going on here or what I can try? Where do I log an official bug? I'm willing to do some experiments to capture logging, etc, to get more info. thanks, Linda
  6. Can people who create and use Mac sequences tell me if you still disable hardware acceleration for any menu sequence that you use? Whilst I used to do this for pc versions using earlier versions of PTE, I have not found it necessary since the version 6.0 + PTE versions. Not being a Mac user but occasionally needing to output Mac slideshows I would like to draw on the experiances of others. Geoff
  7. Hello i just want to know when it will be possible to use or to test PTE with my apple computer... A Mac version it is ready? Thank you. Guillaume67.
  8. Bonjour je souhaiterai savoir quand va sortir la version PTE pour Mac...? Merci
  9. As a Mac user I previously mentioned here at Wnsoft I build DVD Memorials from time to time for some clients and we were asked to build one starting last week so I frantically had to find some software for our Mac since the included system's own slide show software is lacking. I purchased FotoMagico Pro which actually worked quite well and produced a DVD with quite good quality BUT, it has so many of Wnsoft's fine features missing and particularly working with layers and transparencies and also the audio time line in Wnsoft I really like. Oh well, at least temporarily I have something to use till till Igor's team has the Mac Version available.
  10. Hi folks, In one of the threads in this forum Igor used the term 'internal alpha testing' for the Mac version, so some weeks ago I asked Igor to explain what he means exactly by this specific testing. Till now I didn't get an answer, but I suppose he is very busy with finishing PtE 6.5, something I fully understand; I'm waiting for that soundtrack-version too! But maybe some of the many clever members of this forum can tell me the meaning of this 'internal alpha testing', and is there any difference between 'internal alpha testing' and 'alpha testing'? regards, Henri. I just got a message from Dmitry Hapilin who said: Internal alpha testing means testing PicturesToExe inside our company only, without involving any user. Please, wait for a public testing to get and try PicturesToExe for Mac (if you want to participate in testing). Thanks Dmitry for this quick reaction..... Henri.
  11. Hello, In a other topic a say the app and exe files made with PTE under Parallel are not running. Afther some test a saw the they work if they where made with PTE under VN Fusion. So I believe the fault was by Parallel. I download presentations from Beckham Digital I can play the exe under Parallel but I get no response from the app files under Snow Leopard. I didn't receive any mention so I don't now where to search for a solution. Anybody a idea what it could be? Thanks for help. Fotofan
  12. I wonder if I am the only person who has this problem? I have just posted the following on the Audacity forum following Ken's suggestion from am earlier post on this subject. I have made a commentary for an Audio Visual show using 1.3.11 Beta and Lame 3.98.2 when saving as an MP3. The recording was on an iMac using an AKG C1000S mic and a "noise free" input amp. The sound quality is fine for my purposes and plays perfectly in iTunes. Mono 44100 Hz 32-bit float exported at 128 kbps Constant bit rate mode. My current AV software (PicturesToExe) only allows me to produce AVs on a PC but can produce "Mac executables". I have several AVs with music that work OK on the Mac. My commentary plays perfectly on the PC - as well as it does in iTunes on the MAc. But and it is a big BUT when I add the music to the AV, create the executable I run into problems. While it runs perfectly on the PC the sound on the Mac version is terrible. It is just like a seriously slowed down version. Out of desperation I exported an OGG file. OK again on the PCbut the opposite of the MP3 - it sounded like Pinky and Perky - really fast. Can anyone please suggest what is going on here? Better still has anyone got a solution PLEASE. I cannot get my head around the fact that the sound plays perfectly on the Mac and on the PC it is only when it is used in the Mac executable PTE file that there is any problem. This must surely mean that PTE is having some unwanted effect on the sound file. I also tried saving my commentary as a WAV but the result was no different. This is quite a frustrating and potentially serious problem. It will be interesting to see if 6.5 has any impact. Kind regards Peter
  13. Hello, I was running PTE on Mac under Parallel (Windows XP). Now I had to renew my license of Videobuilder and install the last version of PTE. Exe (Windows) and App (Mac) created with the new version no longer work. The error mentions are: For app 20/04/10 13:16:21 [0x0-0x71071].com.WnSoft.PteViewLauncher[1468] [maclauncher] launching application: "/Users/Eddy/Pictures/Klaprozen/Klaprozen.app/Contents/Resources/Viewer.app/Contents/MacOS/MacViewer5" -psn_0_462961 For Exe 20/04/10 13:15:59 com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[157] ([0x0-0x70070].com.WnSoft.PteViewLauncher[1464]) posix_spawn("/Users/Eddy/Pictures/Klaprozen/03-Project exe files/Vistqexe.app/Contents/MacOS/launcher", ...): Permission denied Anybody any experience with this problem and have a solution? Thanks.
  14. This may be a question only Igor can answer. Just as the current PC version of PTE makes it possible to make a presentation for Mac, will the coming Mac stand alone version of PTE be able to make a presentation to run on a PC. I need to know this since I make DVD presentations for clients who may have either a PC or a Mac. Thank you! Bill
  15. Greetings, I want to create a PTE show, using my Windows PC, that will be playable on a Mac. I have read through the Forum on this subject but I did not find an answer, at least one that I could understand. I don't have a Mac to test things out on so I am at a disadvantage. 1st question: What is the difference in choosing "HD Video for PC and Mac (MP4)" and "Executable file for Mac" when you want to create a slideshow to play on a Mac? 2nd question: I don't know the difference between a Mac and a Big Mac. So, can you tell me exactly which Mac these files will play on? Which Mac OS is needed? The person that I want to send it to says he has a "Mac". He is hard to reach so that is all I know at the moment. Thanks...Gary
  16. I have recently made three sequences 2 very short ones and the third just over 3 minutes. I added sound files to each one. On the PC all play perfectly. On the Mac one of the short ones works OK the other two the music seems to play at a very slow speed. All music files are MP3 produced from Adobe Audition. I was careful to ensure they are NOT MP3Pro. If I put the music files on the Mac on their own they play perfectly so it is not a problem with the music file itself. I have tried removing the music and putting it back but so far that has not worked. I feel sure there is a bug somewhere in the conversion. Can anyone help please? Kind regards Peter
  17. Has anyone tried using crossover 7 to run PTE? There is a forum for the Codewaevers web site but I could find nothing on PTE. It seems a relatively cheap option but back in 2008 Macworld did not rate it that highly. Kind regards Peter
  18. For some time now it is not possible to log in on my iPhone. Before the changements in the mobile layout of the forum it was quite easy to log in for some discussion, but now after typing my name and password I go back to the startscreen of the forum and that's it! I mailed to the developers of the website but never became any answer.. I hope there's soon a solution for this inconvenience. regards, Henri.
  19. We have a very good progress with fully functional PicturesToExe Deluxe for Mac version. I think beta testing will begin in this year. Before the open beta-testing I'll post an announcement in this section for those who would like to help us with internal alpha testing. Please watch this forum. Our strategy as with previous version 5.0 - adding of features during beta-testing.
  20. Hi. Please forgive me if this has been answered already but I did search and could not find an answer. Can I download PTE to a mac? I have tried but cannot seem to open or run the programme. Thanks in advance, Dave.
  21. HI All I am running XP Pro in Fusion 3 on an I MAC 27 OSX 10.6 (snow leopard) I have PTE in the virtual machine and whilst it assembles the sequence properly, when I play it back it stumbles and shows little small windows with either the last or next image in them. The saved EXE file runs ok on the virtual and also on other PC machines. Has anybody else experienced this phenomenon? MIke R
  22. Hi, I am an amateur photographer who is on the board of a local photo club which owns a PC - occasionally, I am asked to create a slideshow of my work. I switched over to Mac last year - when I had a PC, I was creating shows with ProShow...the functionality is great...but it seems that the major hurdle is in finding a program which creates .exe file slideshows that can be used on a mac. ProShow is obviously not going to work for me anymore, and I am very reluctant to do the whole virtualization/windows thing on my mac, as avoidance of windows was a major driver for me to switch over.... I see a lot of questions about viewing exe slideshows from a PC on a Mac - can PTE help me create an exe slideshow file on my Mac to be run on a PC? thanks so much! Allison
  23. Has anyone managed to get a Mac executable slideshow to run under Snow Leopard. I have had no success.
  24. Hello dear friends of this forum, I recently changed my business computers over to Mac and I feel like now be severed from this forum which I really enjoyed but I realize I must now wait on a standalone version for Mac. note: just recently had a Memorial service video to make which I build with Mac's Keynote and many thought it was great BUT I could of done much better if I only had my Wysoft software. (Just don't want to install Windows on my Mac Pro.) I want to especially thank Lin Evans since he posts his presentations here both for PC and Mac format so I am hoping others will post both formats too. I am posting this request here since here is where the presentations are posted but if I am in error placing it here I would appreciate some assistance. Thanks so much!! Bill
  25. I have recently cleaned up my hard disc and have removed all the beta version of PTE6 except the programme itself. Now I appear to have removed the Icons as well, how I do not know. My question is, can what I do be allowable and still retain the icons which give access to the programme. More importantly how do I restore them? Gilbert
