  1. I know this topic has been covered before, but I am more and more interested in integrating small video clips into my slideshows. Nowadays, many digital "still" cameras include a "Video Option" which can sometimes be rendered in HD! Exactly what I am looking for since I just bought a new HD TV at home. So, I thought, why not be able to use all the tools I have. My questions are: 1) Will we ever see a P2E version that will include a "Video option" (integrate video clips in P2E presentations)? 2) Proshow Gold offers that possibility, then what could be the advantage of staying with P2E instead of migrating to Proshow? (I know this one is a tough question for a P2E addict, like me ) Thanks for any insight! Peter
  2. I have downloaded PTE 5.6 on to my new computer and added the key but that was for the standard version.I bought the video builder seperately a while ago but I cannot get this key into the registry. When I look in the registry on my old computer I can see the v/b key but as I say I cannot get it to work on my new one. Any ideas would be appreciated Regards Chris
  3. Hello! I want to burn a DVD Video disc. Two days ago it was succesfull. But after modifying the slide show burning does not start! A screenshot will show the problem. Can anyone help? Who has an idea what is wrong? Many thanks! Manfred
  4. Hello Friends I have a 900 Megabyte slideshow set to music, and have burned it repeatedly to DVD using every method within PicturesToExe 5.6. My problem is with DVD playback wherein, the slides drift out of sync with the music. On one burned disk, the presentation outright hangs on a single slide about 3 minutes into the show, but the music continues to play normally. Also, many of the 'transition fades' are not smooth. I am using PTE 5.6 in conjunction with Nero Ultra 7 (burning software), on Windows XP Pro, w/2 Gigs of ram. Everything plays perfectly on the PC. Somehow, I am losing syncronization in the burn process. Can anyone guide me to a resolution in this matter? Many Thanks in Advance. MFetterhoff
  5. Hi! I am interested to find out if it is possible to burn a DVD using PTE5.6 so that it can be viewed on television in Mission Canada. I have a friend who has asked me to take some photogrpahs o the village that He ans i were born and brought up in as a nostalgic trip for him. He emigrated to Canada in 1958 and we were 'best pals' until he left. can you advise if it is possible to creata a DVD which can be viewed in North America. I understood that there is some difficulty in doing so. I would be very grateful for any advice on this matter. Bob Copeland Carluke Scotland
  6. With the old version of Pix2exe you would create an avi file, leave it open on the screen and then go into your DVD burning software and create the DVD. Is this still how you do it to have a DVD play on a DVD player? The reason I ask is because none of the DVD software that I have is working. The only one that remotely worked was one that would only play the audio and not show the pictures. I'm trying to create a DVD for someone for a funeral by tomorrow. Any advice you could give would be great. Thank you!!
  7. Morning, I've used PTE for about 4 years to create pretty basic slideshows and always use the "create an EXE file" to use on a pc option. However this year I tried to upload my file to Vimeo and although the file uploaded correctly and works, some of my pictures are being clipped at the top. I'm assuming they are too big? FYI, the slideshow plays fine when using the EXE file. Sorry for the "newbie" question. Thanks for any insight you may have time to offer. Craig Okay did I comitt some kind of PTE forum blasphemy or something that 52 look at my post but no one makes any kind of comment? I didn't think it was THAT stupid of a question...... Plus if it was someone would have told me right?? Oh well
  8. Just recently (like since 5.6), I've been having problems with having no sound. I create the DVD using my usual settings, pop the disc into a DVD player and I'll either get only 1-2 seconds of sound or nothing at all. If I take the disc to a computer, it will play. This DVD player plays all of my older presentations (made with 5.5), just not the newer ones (made with 5.6). I have created the audio files in both Audacity and using the LAME converter with the same results. I also tried OGG with no change. Any one have any ideas? Dave
  9. Hello Friends Im having a tough time creating a DVD with adequate quality. As it is, I have good picture quality, but several slides which 'Pan' to the left end up 'jittery' by the time I get it to DVD. This 'jerky' motion appears to happen only on frames wherein I began 'Zoomed in', and panned to the left. If I pan in, or out, there is no problem. If I pan in or in and to the left or right, the frame plays beautifully, and is very 'fluid'. Only when the frame begins zoomed in and pans while remaining zoomed, do I have this problem. I have been using MPEG4 codec, and have tried V1 V2 and V3. I have tried interlaced, and non-interlaced. Flicker filter and no flicker filter. I have also tried different aspect ratios. Still.. I cannot smooth out these pan shots. Any recommendations from you Pro's ? I'm using Pte v/5.6
  10. Hi Guys,I'm trying to get back into PTE after a long vacation. Its great! I uploaded my first Youtube video today. no problem. however, When it had been uploaded there was a dialogue box on the first slide that said "this video has been created with an unregistered version of VideoBulider and that I should upgrade to PTE Delux" !! how long have I had it???? years!! so why did it say this?
  11. Hello I would like to burn a slideshow to DVD. Thats no problem, but I am going to send the DVD to USA and I wonder if there are any problems with region codes. Or is that only a problem when you buy DVD films in the store. I know that I have too burn it in NTSC. I hope someone can give me an answer. Swede
  12. I am about to start compiling a show with 300 plus slides. This will eventually be burned to DVD. In the past when I have done this with shows with large number of slides I have sometimes got error messages saying the file is too large for the disc. I have then just ignored the warning and the DVD has completed burning fine. I can only burn the disc using my laptop drive & I'm not sure if it will burn dual layer discs, nor am I sure if a dual layer disc will make any difference. Any pointers would be appreciated. Is there a way of estimating the size on disc before starting the burn. I use 5.6 BTW Yachtsman1
  13. I'm working on a portfolio slideshow that I want to show to clients on my iPhone. I've set it up to keep the last slide on screen at the end, but the iPhone version closes at the end of the show. Is there an option to keep the last slide on screen on the iPhone (other than setting a long duration for the slide) Vinnie

  16. I am trying to convert a video CD to a DVD so that a friend can view a slide show of his trip to Norway. He has no PC to view the CD on. Is this possible? I do not have the software for PicturesToEXE but have both Windows XP and Vista with other types of video software. The CD was created by someone who had the PictuesToEXE and that is about all I know about it. I would appreciate assistance with this so I can help out my non PC using friend.
  17. Hello everybody. I have upgraded to release 5.6 and I did my first av show this this release. Producing the EXE file doesn't cause any problem and the software is working perfectly. I tried to create an MPG file, the result is very bad we can notice the "moire" and the quality is unacceptable, I don't undertand why ? I produced the same kind of file few month ago with earlier release, there were no problem. I tried also to burn directly the DVD ( same result) Let me Know if I made something wrong (parameters ?) My slide show is 14 mn long. Another question : How can i open this new PTE with older release? Window XP, My best regards
  18. Dear PTE Experts, I decided to open this new topic in "DVD-Video, AVI, VideoBuilder", not exactly because of some PTE problem, but because of a more general situation which includes PTE users as well, mainly when a PTE user wishes to post some PTE-AVI file in a blog, which is my case. I know that instead of puting a PTE-AVI Project file in my blog, it will certainly be better to put a link to EXE file itself, ok. Anyhow, in terms of my blog, which is exclusively for videos and slideshows, my real problem is to get higher download speeds, in order that I can increase video bitrates in my movies, and get a better presentation quality in the blog. This takes us to recent discussions about TRANSPARENT PLAYER, started by Lin Evans, and I copy/paste part of my last post on this subject: Concerning TRANSPARENT PLAYER, I have missed your recent first article on this subject, but I went to it now and read all 18 posts, including long Josh explanations, as well as visited Josh's site, saw demos, etc.. Inclusive, I asked Josh a lot of information because I became very much interested in this new TP for my "unique" private video blog...! I considered your opinion, of course, about TP beeing, now, the very best FLV H.264 or MP4 H.264 web player in the world, and I am considering buying it to install in my blog. The purpose is almost exclusively to get a much higher download speed, and so, to be able to put much higher video bit rates in my videos and get more quality. But, in fact, I doubt...! As you say, TP does not turn download speed higher. That's what I think as well. But Josh says that everything is instantanely! He gives his embeded demo video as example, made with some 128 kbps video bit rate, or so. As I can understand, 128 kbps is not a good example at all in a steady video piece like his. I don't like to be "convinced" with such tricks! In my videos to post in blog, I always use FLV H.264 800 kbps plus 48 kbps for audio, so a total of 848 kbps, 25 fps. I wished I could use the double! But I have a download speed 1000 kbps maximum from host server, so it is necessary to pause a little at start before playing without interrupting. On the contrary, downloading HD from Youtube, I have a 2400 kbps download speed. I measure all these speeds with DU METER. My point is: could TP get a download speed similar to this 2400 kbps? And I could start using MP4 H.264 instead of FLV H.264. Ok. Josh replied to questions I put, but I really regret to say that (for the 3rd time in 1 month!) some of my emails get loose, disapear...! And Josh's reply has disapeared from my computer. However, I remember he stated that his TRANSPARENT PLAYER does not increase download speed, just as I thought! Josh said something like "... only video bit rate has something to do with download speed...", just as I thought. So, honnestly, I can not find any reasonable argument to sustain that TRANSPARENT PLAYER is very fast, it starts playing at once, etc., etc., unless video files are converted at very low bit rates... In conclusion, I think I can go on saying that time of miracles has not yet arrived, concerning good video quality at the web, facing actual download speeds from host servers. I am sorry for the time I am taking to all of you... but I should like to put some questions, trying to get reasonable thoughts on this subject, as usual among PTE users. 1. I am using a host server which is POWWEB. I host there all my FLV video files as well as my EXE PTE Projects. It is from POWWEB that my blog's viewers download my files. POWWEB is a paid service, not expensive. In POWWEB I use a FTP account (which seams to be faster...) 2. I never got more than 1200 kbps maximum download speed, which leads to some 800-900 kbps average. 3. When I download HD Youtube, I get 2400 kbps average download speed. So, my computer, my connection and my service provider allow, at least, this 2400 kbps download speed. 4. POWWEB says that they can not increase my download speed. (I worked before with WEBNG, which download speed was 600 kbps maximum!) 5. QUESTION: Can somebody let me know of some "high speed" host server service? At least 2400 kbps, like Youtube? 6. Another point: all of you know DAP- DOWNLOAD ACCELERATOR PLUS 9.0, which in its paid version (PREMIUM) allows 10 connections to server, so downloads are really very fast. Would it be possible to "incorporate" some kind of DAP in our FLV Players? I asked this to the builder of my player, which is JW FLV PLAYER 4.3 (the best player in the world, #1 in quality and versality!), and his answer, till this moment, was: "DAP 10 connections are forbiden, and you risk to be banned from servers and sites...". I was astonished with this! Is this true? I asked details but got no reply till the moment. I put same point to DAP itself, some 5 days ago, but got no reply till this moment. I put this point now to you, dear PTE experts: #1 - Forbiden or not forbiden? #2 - Technicaly possible or not possible? 7. As you can easly understand, I am not at all an expert... but why not "embeding" a kind of DAP in our own player "codes"? Click "PLAY", real download speed around 4000-5000 kbps, big cache, start at once, no interruptions till the end. High video bit rates, excelent quality! Is this a dream? It is most probably a big mistake of mine... I only should like to know where and why! Regards, Jose
  19. Using the latest version of PTE you can create a high definition .mp4 file and play this on the computer using various players. I have a Pioneer hard disk DVD recorder/player that is supposed to be HD compatible, i.e. 1080p and a TV which is also 1080p. Is it possible to burn the .mp4 file to a high definition DVD disk and what equipment do you need to do this?, e.g. an HD I thought that manufacture of HD disks was coming to an end. Do the DVD disks need to be special HD versions?
  20. I'm using a Sony DVD burner PTE 5.5. With the Burn DVD box checked nothing comes up. My burner has power. But Builder doesn't display my burner. Space is empty along with the speed. I have burned dvd's before but it's been a while. Am I forgetting something? Thanks Bob W.
  21. Please read an article about some nuances with aspect ratio while preparing DVD discs by using PicturesToExe and Video Builder. http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/aspect-ratio.htm
  22. I have eight small PTE EXE slideshows, that I want to burn to DVD for TV. I open VB and try to import my shows. These shows are all in one folder named PTE shows, when I click on this folder, in the explorer, the folder goes to VB, I then click on this folder, and it jumps back into explorer. The next thing I tried, was to remove the shows from the folder, and place them on the desktop, and try to import from there, the explorer doesen't even see them. I must say, I can drill down in the folders, where I have all the edited and resized photos, music etc, and bring the EXE into VB, and then burn it. I have everything on an 8 gig flashdrive, so I can switch between my PC and my notebook, I moved a copy of my shows to the desktop, thinking this might solve the problem, to no avail. Then I moved the shows out of the folder, and placed them on the desktop, no difference. I can build and create an EXE slideshow in PTE and immediately open VB and burn this to DVD, why can't I burn shows already created as EXE? I am a registered user of PTE Deluxe, using 5.6 beta 20. I have Lin's CD of tutorials, and have checked the online tutorials as well. Any help would be appreciated, Gayland XP Pro 32 bit service pack 2 AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 3800 Nvidia GeForce 6100 256 MB ram Direct X 9.0 Memory 2,560 MB
  23. Hello. Each time I want to create a HD video file (HD Video for PC or Mac) with PTO 5.6 beta 20. My PC reboots at the end of creation. Do you know any reasons ? Axel
  24. Dear forum members, I want to make my first DVD with video builder, there are a few templates from which I can choose, but what if I want to have my own template? In other words, how can I make my own template for video builder for my DVD's? I'm sorry if there is already a topic on this, but I couldn't find it. Gerard from Holland.
  25. Is there a way of using the VideoBuilder encoder in the Create/AVI video file function of P2E? I know you can make a mpeg2 file directly in VideoBuilder, but I would like to be able to select the VideoBuilder codec to make the movie file in the Create AVI video file function of P2E, which allows more options for making the mpeg2 file. I cannot use the VideoBuilder itself to create DVD Movie discs on my system due to errors during the burn process. Thanks for any help, Steve Newcomb Tucson, AZ USA
