  1. When burning multiple slideshows to DVD, is it possible to divide the chapters up at the beginning and end of each new slideshow? That seems to be the way that would make most sense, but I don't see that option in Pics2Exe. Thanks -Steve
  2. HI I am trying to include a short video into a slide show. I can play this perfectly on the computer in PTE but once I print it to a DVD it is jittery on play back both on the computer and a DVD player. I have tried AVI, Mpeg2 used the file converter and the result is the same each time. The original file is HD but I have tried the conversions as stated. Cheers
  3. Hi Igor and everyone, I was using 6.5.8 and I was seeing issues with video jitters when I exported the video via ipad with the default settings. I updated my PTE to version 7 and video produced for the iPad is worse in 7 than 6.5.8. If I export the video VIA the HD Video in v7, it works fine. Smooth and no jitters. I've read other post about jitters in the beta version and fixed in v7 beta16. Any Idea as to what is causing this jitter issue? Thanks!
  4. I am running 32 bit Vista and 6.5.7 PicturesToExe. In VideoBuilder I get the attached error when I pull in a .jpg background image. I also got an error when I disabled drop shadows on the title page text title. - Thanks Videobuilder 1012011 13026 PM.bmp
  5. I'd like to put several PTE slide shows onto a single DVD. But Video Builder seems to require a new DVD disc for each show. Is there a way for me to create a multiple-show DVD, with a start menu that lets you viewer decide which of the shows he'd like to see? I suppose I could take several shows and combine them into one, and then make a DVD of that. But how would the viewer then choose which show he wanted to see, if he wanted to see only a particular one? Thanks much. Don
  6. Hi I've been creating PicturesToExe slideshows for years, and using the mouse buttons to manually move forwards in the slideshow at the appropriate time. I don't want the slides to just run through automatically. Now I want to do the same thing for a slideshow on my TV from a DVD, using the next and previous buttons on the DVD remote control. Is this possible? So far, I've created a DVD from PicturesToExe no problem, but it just runs straight through the slides automatically. I can't see where in PicturesToExe the settings are to adjust how the slideshow runs from the DVD? There are settings to adjust the main menu picture, but I can't find the settings to make the slideshow run manually... Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks Jon
  7. When using this option to create an MP4 (H264) file, what do forum members suggest as the best custom settings to use please? See attachment for the settings that I currently use. Ron West
  8. I am currently producing a DVD which incorporates two separate presentations, although I think that the number is not an issue. When playing either of the presenatations on the DVD there is an area toward the top LHS where there is a square block which flickers on and off in area that should be black. This only happens in the DVD and not in any EXE file produced. I have created an ISO copy and tried burning from that on to a couple of DVDs with same problem arising. I have reduced burn speed to 8x but still problem Has anyone any ideas ? Ian
  9. After burning project created in pte (6.5) the cd struggles to open and a message reads - exception e out of memory in module (project name) exe at 00005c00 out of memory - and the computer locks up - any ideas waht the problem is? Had no problem with other versions. ffoto
  10. I am so thankful for Igor's addition of the built-in video converter in PTE Version 7 beta! Saves me untold headaches. Now beyond this converter, I need suggestions from forum members for a third party video editor for one specific purpose. I have some very dark, night-time videos, that I need to lighten up (make visible) to include in PTE. Using VLC Player I am able to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, gamma, successfully for viewing but I can not save the adjusted video image! Does anyone have a recommended (freeware or other) program that is simple to adjust and save the improved video before running the PTE video converter on it?
  11. Greetings, I am wondering what the difference would be in a couple of the fps movie setting for a Nikon D7000 when it is dropped into PTE. The two top settings are: 1- 1920x1080; 24 fps 2- 1280x720 30 fps The only thing I have read is that 24 fps is more of a 'movie' look and 30 fps is more of a 'TV' look. Not sure what that means but I am more concerned about the usability and final look when in PTE. Can someone shed some light on making these choices between frame rates for video used in PTE? Thanks.
  12. I'm getting strange results using the PTE Video Converter on the .mov files generated by my Canon 60D. I've tried converting a simple video (30 seconds long) at various quality settings and have found: 1) The audio is out-of-sync by about 0.5 seconds whatever quality setting I choose. 2) If I use a high quality setting (eg 60 or above), the resulting file freezes at some point when played back within PTE. Changing the quality setting changes where it freezes 3) Using a low quality (eg 30 or below) results in a file that plays all the way through. I don't think its a resource issue as I have a 64bit machine with 8Gb RAM and a hex-core processor. However, if I use the free Prism Video Converter and export as an .avi file, it gives a perfect result (and much smaller file size). Anyone else had this issue? Ian
  13. I have created a small video which is a .mov format and in an attempt to reduce its overall size I have converted it to AVI. When I add this to a slide show I hear the sound but just get a green(?) background and no pictures. I have found a previous post saying I may need to configure the video/audio codecs in windows but I don't get that option in hardware and sound options on Windows 7 Ultimate - can anyone suggest how I can get picture to display properly??
  15. I want to add a small video file to my slideshow and I have been experimenting with different formats - the original is a .mov file created on a Mac - but this is very big (60MB for 1.5mins) - can anyone summarise which would be the best type of video to use in terms of size economy and still maintain quality? Thanks (sorry just realised I may have put this in wrong section!) Joy
  16. I am considering purchasing PICtoEXE but first would like someone to confirm that it is possible to add videos of short duration, averaging 3 minutes, between single frames. I produce the videos on a Nikon Coolpix S8000; my single frame shots are produced on a Nikon D80.
  17. Hi, I have a 800x600 project, I hope I can export as AVI in 800x600 size? Any idea? Thanks.
  18. Now we are getting into using video with PTE V7, is it possible to edit a video to play with a transparent background similar to *.png format in a still photo. Recording using a "Green screen" comes to mind, but is that for the high end studios and software? Video is a new world to me and I imagine a lot of other PTE users! Boogie
  19. Hi all, Been away from slideshows for awhile and just upgraded to latest 6.5. I made a slideshow from some wedding pictures I took Saturday. Made it for my iPhone. I am blown away by the quality of the show. Truely amazing. So, on to the question: Can these slideshows be made for other mobile devices? Specifically, I'm thinking about Android devices. I can't find any info so far telling me one way or the other. I do know how to take an avi file and convert it to something that will work on an Android phone, but I'm wondering if there is a way to have PTE do it natively. I magine the quality would be better, based on the amazing work it did for the iphone4. Thanks for any help, Don
  20. Hi I aim to use hundreds of image processed fullHD size pictures in a fast sequence (timelapse), making MP4 videos with PTE. But when I make tests with around 300 pictures, the video crashes halfway. I like to combinate fast sequence pictures with more slow ones, and have made this successfully before. But now when I'm using hullHD size pictures I get problem. Or I'm actually using even larger size pictures, like 2160x1440, but force PTE to show only 1920x1080 of them by using original size pictures. ("the size of slide" is definied to 1920x1080 in "Project options"). I have tried with PTE versions 6.5.8 and 7-beta-12. I have used a interval of about 250ms for slides, and used about 200ms fade transitions between slides, or turned the fade off. When the rendering crash, there is an error report saying that "x264.exe has encountered a problem"? Whats wrong? - something with x264.exe? - do I need a new version of x264, if so, where is it located? - something with the computer? - something with PTE? Thankfull for some help. Jan
  21. At 1920x1080 px resolution, the image quality of PTE exe.files on large screens (we've gone up to 16 feet wide) is superb. I'm using a Canon 5D Mark 2 shooting in the MOV format at 1920x1080px Full HD H.264, Audio is recorded as Linear PCM. The MOV files play OK dropped straight into PTE but, of course, unedited it's a mess. So I edit in Sony Vegas before inserting them into PTE and have already sent a sample to Igor. He is making changes to PTE Beta based on output('export') problems arising with some of the HD codecs used by Vegas. However in this enquiry I'm really wanting to know if there's an HD format which works well in PTE when combined with stills. Full HD is required as there is no drop-off in image quality when the production switches between stills and video. Is there a consensus about what HD video codec and file extension works best in PTE - in terms of image quality and ease of editing ? I know there will be many options, but can we settle on one as a default standard?
  22. Hello! I have created a presentation with a 1024x576 resolution and on my PC I can visualize it very well. Afterward I have burned a DVD choosing the 16:9 format (PAL System) but when I try to see it on my Sony Bravia wide screen TV the images appear wider and deformed; the display is cutted and the right and left end sides are not visible. Moreover they appear two black bands one on the top and the other on the bottom (even though this is the minor problem to me). Can somebody help me? Somebody told me about anamorphic, but I don't know what to do. Thank you for the attention. Kind regards Paolo Scolari
  23. Can anyone help, please? I have upgraded to PTE 6.5. First show I created worked well & burned to DVD fine. However, second attempt FAILS : Video builder opens up but then freezes & will not let me create the PTV file! I've tried to get old version 5 to build file but this does not recognise the new 'feature'/ effects from version6.5! I've also uninstalled and re-installed. Wnsoft have as yet not got back with any help!!! In frustration, I would like my money back for the extended burner licence I've just purchased but can't find how to get answers from them.
  24. Hello there I have a Panasonic plasma TV which could play HD videos from a stick. It does not accept the newer h.264 format, however it would accept the divx format in avi container. So I downloaded an xvid encoder, it would show up in the list of codecs in PTE, and I did succesfully produce a 1080p-avi video and show it on the TV (excellent quality). The problem is now - no sound! A web search revealed - the panasonic would accept AC-3 sound, or MPEG-1/Layer-2. I opted for the AC3ACM encoder, installed and registered it, but it does not show up in the list of encoders in PTE. Has anyone a recommendation for me? How does PTE determine the installed audio encoders? How can I check the correct registration of encoders? Any other proposal? Thanks, Mike.
  25. O.K. - not intended as a work of "art" or even an interesting slideshow - just done to demonstrate the ease of using a video in the background with still images in the foreground. Essentially, you set the video on slide one to the master and copy and paste it as many times as you have still slides. Each of the secondary videos is set as "linked". Then you determine the run time for the video in seconds (assuming you want to use it all) and divide by the number of still slides to get the time to set each video and each still slide. This means you "change" the run time of the video on each slide to this "portion" of the total time that the individual still slide will occupy. You can manipulate the still slides just as you would in any slide show with opacity, 3D transforms, rotation, PZR effects, etc. I just threw in a few assorted opacity and 3D transforms for examples. It may take you a little time to do the calculations but the possibilities are very great. Though I didn't use still slides as the background with a running video it is actually easier to do that way. Just a sample folks - not a "production"..... http://www.learntoma...kgrounddemo.zip (about 23 meg) Best regards, Lin
