I have version 11.0.18 Build 3

After adding slides to a project and working on it for some time and then running Preview the transitions are shacky. If I save the file it's still shacky. Only after closing the file and rebooting are the transitions smooth.

I have 32 mg ram.

The problem did not exist before I upgraded to version 11.

Any help will be appreciated.

Sounds like it could be a memory problem. Are you running any other programs at the same time as PTE?

I assume you mean you have 32 GB of ram? Which should be plenty. But it could be that another program is taking it up.

Also how big are your images?

I recently increased the ram to 32 GB so I'm thinking there could be a problem with the new ram as I did not have a problem previously with only 8 GB ram.

The images vary in size from 500 kb to 1500 kb. I sometimes have PS or NX Studio open as well but not always. The problem also happens with other smaller projects.

I posted my query to find out if there could be a problem with version 11 but it looks like a hardware problem.

It does sound like hardware.

When you upgraded your ram did you leave the old ram in place & just add extra or is it all new? And is it evenly spaced throughout the ram slots?

If you have some old then is the new compatible with it.

Your image sizes are small so they shouldn't be a problem.

This problem shouldn't occur because the slides are preloaded (3 slides forward).
Tell me, where are the files (images, video clips) added to your project located? Local SSD or HDD drive, external USB HDD drive, or network drive?
What antivirus do you use?
What is the average slide duration (in seconds)?

The PTE Studio file and images are located in the separate D drive on the PC. C drive is 1 Tb SSD and D drive 2 Tb HDD both are more than half empty. No antivirus. I rely on Windows 11.

The default slide duration is 6 sec. There are a few that are a bit longer. The total running time is 04:17. AV Studio file size is 111 KB.

I did not have a problem with the file or program before I upgraded  the ram, motherboard, processor, and PTE. I unfortunately did it all at the same time.

You did not mention your video card. Did you also upgrade it? Update your graphics drivers. Outdated or corrupted display drivers are a frequent cause of stuttering. You can update them through the Device Manager on Windows or by visiting the website of your graphics card manufacturer.
