Regarding the volume of the new special effects, I do have the impression that the volume is rather low, even at a setting of 200.

Compared to the standard music volume (100), I think a sound effect should be audible above this volume.

So, to be audible, the volume should be adjusted (setting higher than 200). Or the volume of the special sound effect should be at least as loud as the standard music volume (100), with the option of increasing it to 200, as is currently possible with the music.

Greetings,

Cor

In any program, whether it’s Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, after adding a sound effect, the main background audio needs to be reduced to 75 percent. If the sound effect is barely audible, you can boost the audio file in Audition or find a similar file online with higher volume. Otherwise, the sound effects will not be heard. In version 11, I reduced the background sound. Yes, some sounds are very quiet.

I initially applied loudnorm normalization (for all sound files in the library) using the EBU R128 standard with a target level of -16 LUFS.
loudnorm с I=-16 in FFmpeg.
I noticed a problem - some quiet sounds get to the same level as loud sounds, destroying the natural dynamic range.
Probably I'm wrong and I can try again.

UPD. I normalized all audio files in the sound library in future Beta 4.

Perhaps the "Integrated Loudness (LUFS)" and "True Peak (dB)" values are set significantly different (or not) for the music compared to the sound effects?

Just a thought.

Cor, try new Beta 4. We normalized volume for all sound files. Also we've added 2 new sounds.

Tested, it's better  but still seems too weak.

I just created a video with 2 sounds : Clicl1 and Page Turn 3 (level 100) and analyzed the result with AUDACITY : by applying the amplification filter, we see that we can increase by 6dB.

Thanks for checking. I thought I had applied normalization to -3.0 dB for all sound files in Audacity. I'll check again on Monday.

P.S. Just in case, you need to add sound objects to a slide again to check updated sound files.
