:) Howdy...

Am currently using Avast, and a recent VPS update(17/07/08), has turned my shows into virus lockdowns.

As such, i now need to turn its "On access scanner" off, so i can create and/or view any shows.

Went to Avast site and sent the *information below, obtained via http://www.virustotal.com/metodos.html

This site Virustotal, provides a service that analyzes  suspicious files and facilitates

quick detection of viruses, worms, trojans, and all kinds of malware detected by antivirus engines.

Just upload your suspect file via email (<10mb)and you get a report like below.

Hopefully they will fix this problem in the the next VPS update.

I have tried, three times today, to upload an EXE file to Media Fire in both zipped and unzipped format and in each case it was rejected as being a possible VIRUS/TROJAN.

I wonder if they are using AVAST?

I eventually uploaded to MyFreeFileHosting with no problem:

Here's a link, it is worth checking out:

and from another group i sub to another fella reports this

"I have tried, three times today, to upload an EXE file to Media Fire in both zipped and unzipped format and in each case it was rejected as being a possible VIRUS/TROJAN."

Hi...

This morning, on running P2Exe 5.5 beta, my Avast virus scanner flagged up the above malicious report on a previously run exe created slideshow file. Every other similar file (P2exe - exe file) also flagged up also. I also scanned the apr.exe file for 5.5 beta, which also triggered a trojan response from AVAST.

However, when I scanned the apr.exe file from the 5.1 version, it did NOT trigger the trojan warning. Does this tell me something? I have read a great deal about the possibility of a 'false positive' warning of this trojan with Avast virus scanner. Has anyone hit a similar problem? I notice one more post regarding this, but would have expected a few more today id this is due to the latest avast virus update. Incidentally, one forum suggested that the latest version of avast should be used. I have today downloaded version 4.8 of avast, but trojan problem still there. I have uninstalled p2exe 5.5 beta, and tried to download the new 5.5 deluxe but 80% of downlad and Avast stops the download with the trojan warning.

I am at a loss as to what to do next? Any suggestions ?

Hi Norman,

I have the same problem. I sent an email to avast and hope they will fix it quickly.

I have been using the 5.5 deluxe for weeks now and there was no alert. After yesterdays Avast update I got the alert for the first time. I read in a previous thread that disabling avast for the time being is the way to go. Thats what I've done and so waiting patiently for the fix.

Regards,

kessi

I just checked up with virustotal.com online service.

Avast, GData, Ikarus antiviruses already fixed this problem with false detection in latest update (2008-07-18).

Mediafire.com again accepts slideshows for uploading.
