Add a new 15 FPS publish option for timelapse videos
tom95521 replied to tom95521's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
Yes. I have been testing a few timelapse videos and have found that frame blending works best when the publish frame rate is 2x the slide frame rate. You can see the difference when moving frame by frame in the video. Some people may not realize that PTE can create timelapse and hyperlapse style videos from images. I have been comparing results with other software (QT, GlueMotion, TLDF, and CamDoMachine,PTE is comparable in quality. I think frame blending is better when the output frame rate is at least 30 FPS so 15 FPS has limited value. Thanks, Tom -

NIce little production of a great opportunity. Music worked well. On our two trips Down Under our experience with a platypus was a glimpse of ripples when a platypus barely surfaced in the distance.

Add a new 15 FPS publish option for timelapse videos
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
Tom, thanks for your suggestion. In theory we can add 15fps option. In fact, video encoder in PTE is very smart. For this type of content a difference in file size between 15p and 24/30p will be negligible (around 20%). Just turn off the Hardware acceleration option for better compression. The encoder understand that it's the same picture with dissolving transition. You can compare existing 30p and 60p options to check a difference in file size. -
Hi, Yes, you can download V10.5 for Mac: https://files.wnsoft.com/pteavstudio/previous-versions/PTE-AV-Studio-10.5.12.dmg and activate the Mac version with your current license key for V10 Pro. You can use one license on 2 computers - Windows and/or Mac. If you forgot your license key, you can recover it on this page: https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/lost-license-key/

Found this platypus in a creek not far from home. Been back several times to see it in the wild. The images are from a visit on Monday Sept 8.

I have been experimenting with timelapse by combing images with short slide duration. By adding a very short dissolve transition between slides it appears to smooth the video like motion blur (often called blending in other timelapse software). If we had a 15 FPS publish option then the file size would be smaller (depending on movement between frames). Thanks, Tom

Enable Text outlined with a color
tom95521 replied to Dodac's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
An outline/stroke font would be great but might be complicated due to how PTE converts fonts so they can be played on other computers without the same font. If you really need crisp outline font without animation then a high resolution PNG image is another option. Tom -

Very nice. It's interesting to watch clouds move in different directions at different altitudes. On clear nights you can watch the stars move in a circular pattern across the sky. I have added 15 fps and 24 fps timelapse styles to my previous post in styles and templates sub forum. Thanks, Tom
-
Great. It's easy to change the frame rate by adjusting the slide time. I can make styles for 15 fps and 24 fps. .067 ms for 15 fps (14.9 fps) .042 ms for 24 fps (23.8 fps) .033 ms for 30 fps (30.3 fps) Looking forward to your show. Thanks, Tom

Why not just Lightroom? Or Github has ready-made Python code to do so--if you are up for that.

hello, news on this issue ? seems on last build I still enconter it thank you Thomas

Thank you, Igor. I am grateful for your amazing work.

HEIC images are supported only in the Mac version. Not on Windows. We plan to add full HEIC support in future. HEIC is a very complicated format. It's based on Apple file container + array of HEVC videos (tiles) + meta information (color profile).
-
Never mind. I understand why: I am on a PC. Thanks for the progress on this.
-
-
PTE AV Studio and Optimiser can read (and play) videos in HEVC format. On PC or Mac. PTE AV Studio on Mac can read images in HEIC format.
-
Thanks for checking and confirmation!
-
I didn't search the boards or documentation for updated info (apologies), but are HEIC / HEVC not supported? Will they be? What about PTE Video Optimiser? Does it open HEVC?
-
I just installed the update and the heic images now display correctly.
