Updated version of PTE AV Studio 12.0.4 is available for PC and Mac Download: https://www.wnsoft.com/pte-av-studio/download/ Or use the Auto Update function: Main menu > Help > Check for Free Updates Fixed an issue where a video clip with adjusted speed or a trimmed start could be skipped in the final render during video export. Fixed an issue where restoring a backup project loaded files from their original location instead of the project's backup folder, if the original file was available. About window shows: 12.0.4 Build 1.

Thanks, Roan Jon, I've already downloaded it. Before installing it, I'm going to try to fix a couple more versions that have the same issue. If I can do it the way Igor says, I think I downloaded them from here, but I can't find the post to report it.

Hi, I understand your frustration. In V11, there was a bug - Hue slider in the Hue/Lightness/Saturation Color filters was changing the color of black and white (grayscale) images. This is not correct behavior. In a grayscale image, there is no color (no saturation), so the Hue slider should have no effect - this is standard behavior in Photoshop and other image editors, too. We fixed this bug in V12.0. Normally we're trying to keep backward compatibility between versions. But this case is different, because it was not a feature, it was a bug. Keeping it working would mean keeping the color filters broken. For this kind of effect, I recommend the "Coloration" color filter in PTE AV Studio. Unlike Hue/Saturation, so you can set it to any color you like. This will give you full control and a predictable result. Alternative option: it may be easier to prepare those color variations in Photoshop first, then bring these images into PTE AV Studio.

Hi Socu, New version of this style (confetti) for PTE 12 Multicolor confetti-2.ptestyle
-
Hi, I see the problem with this style (confetti) in V12. We’ll check the code today.
-
Hi SoCu I confirm this style works well with PTE 11 and unfortunately the confetti appears white with PTE 12
-
SoCu, This Style works OK with Version 11. Original Post is here: https://www.pteavstudio.com/forums/topic/20848-confetti/#comment-138292 Possibly Igor can throw some light on this?? DG

Hi, here is the link to the project. Regarding the samples of these styles, I believe they were posted here, though I’m not entirely sure, they did display color back when I first tested them. The other example, the one with the confetti showing the gold color, was a video; I’m not sure why, but it displays correctly now. The two examples I’m showing in this project are the ones that aren't displaying in color right now. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GTQ7BD8k-86kT4dPmlv614pGlKcofkjv/view?usp=sharing

I have to say that I’ve tried changing all the settings in this section, and even disabling it, but it doesn't show any changes.

Hi, I’m not sure if something changed in the latest update, I’m on version 12.0.4, build 1, but I can’t see the actual colors of the styles. For instance, I applied a style featuring colorful confetti, but it’s displaying in white. With another confetti style that is supposed to be gold, the confetti appears black. Unless the settings changed for some reason, I haven't altered anything myself, I’ve tried looking for an option to change this behavior but haven't found anything. Can anyone tell me if I need to adjust a setting, or why this is happening? Thanks.

Free Music / SFX Resource - Over 2000 Tracks
Eric Matyas replied to Eric Matyas's topic in General Discussion
Hey everyone, please be sure to check out my Game Music Mega Pack. The pack contains over 1460 music tracks (looping and non-looping) in my most popular game music genres. You can download all of them at once...a huge time-saver. Here's the link: https://soundimage.org/ogg-game-music-mega-pack/ That said, it was another very busy week, but I did manage to create a new music track to share with the community: "DRIFTING BEYOND PLUTO " You can listen to it here: https://soundimage.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/Drifting-Beyond-Pluto.ogg And download it here: https://soundimage.org/sci-fi-15/ It's completely free to use with attribution, just like my thousands of other music tracks, sounds and images. Enjoy! 🙂 -
Reworked D drive and now using it. Thanks all for the help!

Have you got Full Duration and/or Scale KeyFrames on Time Change Ticked. If so then if you move a Slide to a different position the Time will change. Best to untick Full Duration in Settings/Preferences/Project Jill
-
Good evening. Why do the photos placed on the timeline in PTE12 not retain their assigned duration or specified transitions, but instead change on their own? Thanks for the reply. Guy

Yes mhwarner, it’s clear that other programs offer more creative options in the text editor than PTE does, so I think this is an area for improvement in future updates. I know that any change takes work, and that’s not an excuse for not continuously improving PTE to make it an even better program, but the problem arises if you’re thinking of creating a style that any user can freely use: having to enter text, which can’t be done within PTE itself, and having to create text in other programs to import it as a PNG image isn’t efficient at all. I do create them using templates when I use them for my own projects, you can even include TIFF files in the Project, but it still means having to use other programs.
-
I know it's not ideal, but for fancy text effects it is really much better to create them in Photoshop or some other graphics editor. Then you can create exactly the effect you are striving for. Just save your text as a png and bring it in to PTE AV. There are so many layer styles out there to use with Photoshop that your imagination is probably your only limit.

I asked AI about your problem 🙂 1. Toggle Hardware Acceleration (Most Common Fix) PTE relies heavily on the computer’s graphics card to encode MP4 videos. A recent graphics driver update can sometimes cause errors. [1] Have him go to the Publish menu -> HD or 4K Video. Look for the Hardware Acceleration checkbox at the bottom of the window. If it is checked, uncheck it and try publishing again (or vice versa). [1] 2. Check the Destination Folder (Permissions Issue) Sometimes Windows or macOS blocks PTE from writing a new video file to certain directories due to recent security updates. Ensure he is not trying to publish directly to an external hard drive, a USB flash drive, or a cloud-synced folder (like OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox). Have him change the destination path to a simple, local folder directly on his main drive, like a folder on his desktop or local C:\ drive. 3. Scan for a "Corrupt" Asset or Missing File Because the failure happens on this exact project file across multiple versions, there is likely a single corrupt or unsupported image, audio track, or video clip embedded in the timeline. [1] Look for missing files: If a file was moved or renamed, PTE might show a "File Not Found" warning on the timeline. Isolate video clips: If he has embedded shorter .mp4 or .mov video clips inside his slideshow, one of those clips might have a codec that is choking the encoder. Have him temporarily remove any video clips from the timeline and see if the show publishes as an MP4 with just the stills. [1, 2] 4. Create a Clean Test Zip To verify if it's a system issue or a file path issue, he should use the built-in backup utility: Go to the main menu -> File -> Create Backup in Zip. Save that zip file to his desktop, unzip it into a brand new folder, and open the new .pte file from there. Try publishing from this clean, consolidated folder. [1] 5. Check for Third-Party Interference Sometimes antivirus software flags the temporary encoding processes PTE uses to build an MP4 as suspicious, blocking the file creation. He can try temporarily pausing his antivirus program for 5 minutes just to see if the video publishes successfully.

Try loading the Sample Project from HELP. Publish at the same settings - will that publish OK? If so, start looking at the content of your project. How many slides, Images, Videos etc. DG

It may have nothing to do with it, but in one case, Windows left me with a folder as read-only.

Is drive D a Physical drive on your computer? Is it connected via USB - if yes then try disconnecting & reconnecting Does it have enough free space? Can you create an exe on the same drive? Try a different Drive & see if it will create I cannot see anything wrong with your settings. Jill

I have dl 12 and nothing but trouble Publishing! Tried same file to publish in 11 and same thing. Been using PTE for many years and never had a problem publishing. Have tried publishing under a different name and no help. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but don't know what! I haven't changed how I used PTE in the past! Very disappointed.
-
This is the text I'm trying to create in PTE I thought from the comments that it was said that for version 12 the text editor would have changes, that you could do more than just write text with a font type, limited to the fonts that Windows has.

Okay, so the transitions have been added in reverse order. When you add this second transition, the first image displayed is the previous slide so the effect isn't the same as before. I've put the link in the first post; I removed the previous one since those transitions are included in this version, and I've also changed the video to show what they look like.
