tom95521 started following My first Vibe coded Android app
-
With more Vibe "developers" appearing every day I thought I would try creating an app for fun. I visited Google AI Studio. Total time from concept to working app less than 30 minutes. I was impressed but also kind of shocked with this type of coding. I gave it a basic command create an app that makes cat sounds for my pet and allows users to record their own meows. After configuring my Pixel phone for developer mode and connecting to PC with USB cable the AI studio browser window uploaded an .apk file. The app had audio bugs which I described to AI stuido and it created a new .apk that works. the app sounds are very quiet and very fast. I have identified and resolved the causes for the sounds playing quietly and ending prematurely: What was Happening Premature Playback Cut-off: The playback engine was streaming PCM chunks into an in-memory buffer without awaiting real-time playback completion. This caused the coroutine to release and stop the AudioTrack after only ~10ms, cutting off 99% of the sound before it could exit the device speaker. Short Initial Durations: Several procedural algorithms had short sub-second durations that felt abrupt rather than natural. Volume Channel & Normalization: The audio channel used notification sonification instead of media playback, and peak waveforms were not normalized to maximum 16-bit PCM amplitude. Fixes Applied Complete Playback in MODE_STATIC: Switched to AudioTrack.MODE_STATIC with AudioAttributes.CONTENT_TYPE_MUSIC and USAGE_MEDIA. The audio hardware plays the entire buffer to completion before stopping, tracking playbackHeadPosition to update playback progress smoothly. Realistic Natural Durations & Rich Acoustics: Extended cat sound durations to authentic feline vocalizations (e.g., Friendly Hello is now 1.45s with warm vocal cavity formants, Tiny Kitten Mew is 1.1s, Hungry Demand is 1.65s with repeated urgent calls, and Deep Purr is 3.6s with low 26Hz resonant breathing cycles). Peak Volume Normalization: Added an automatic loudness normalization pass to scale every synthesized sound to peak at 31,500 (safe maximum for 16-bit PCM without clipping). Volume Control Slider: Added a dedicated Sound Volume slider in the app's audio controls (ranging from 20% to 100% maximum loudness). All tests passed (BUILD SUCCESSFUL), verifying that: Sounds now play with natural durations (1.1s to 3.6s). Audio output reaches maximum loudness (peak amplitude normalized to 31,500). Playback runs to completion through AudioTrack.MODE_STATIC with media stream volume and interactive volume controls.

you should be able to, nothing has changed. But it is best to add, delete & move Slides in Slide View not Timeline View Jill

Why can't I move slides on the timeline in version 12 Pro?

Thank you Jill for the information

My latest version. Modify and improve if you want to. I was interested in designing a button layout for the two additional effects. Thanks, Tom Update: I noticed after posting 2 of my arrow icons are different than the others. Here is what they look like now. You can easily edit them iso I will not post a new version of the transition (see image below). Quick Slide V3.pteeff

Hi Everyone! I've been a slideshow enthusiast for over 23 years now, starting with MemoriesOnTv, moving to ProShow and now using PTE AV. I've created over 100 slideshows, mainly of my holidays (with the kids), making them into short movies (30-60 minutes). One thing I've missed in almost all tools, is a way to bulk edit the slideshow. Such as: Change slide duration only for photo slides Apply complex slide timing rules (subtract, add, %, video length) Sort slides based on file name, date, extension, size and type Randomize transitions by selection Apply KenBurns (or other) effect only to photos Apply volume settings to all videos at once Have a version control with descriptions and backup Enable presets for your favorite settings Choose the exact pan/zoom/rotate settings in bulk So I've created my own solution that I used to automate my slideshows according to my preferences. I've used it only for myself, but wanted to share this with the community after trying to code it online. For now I'm looking for 5 beta testers that can use the product for free for a couple of weeks and give their feedback. After that, I'm considering making the tool paid, but also maintaining it and implementing requests. Preview (version 1.0): https://unomne.com/pteav If you want to sign up, respond with "beta" below. NOTE: you need to upload only your .pte file, NOT your media files. So the system will have access to file names, durations etc, but not see the photos or videos.

Hi Igor, Thanks for the improved version. I'm always learning new methods of using PTE even after all these years. It never gets old (except me). I am looking forward to using PTE more this winter when super El Niño arrives in the Pacific Northwest.

Hi Tom, Thanks for sharing your transition! I’d like to suggest a small improvement. You can animate different parameters, movement and opacity - independently. - Animate movement (Pan) from the 1st to the 3rd keyframe, with a speed modifier (Slow down) on the 1st keyframe. - Change the opacity from the 1st to the 2nd keyframe; the 2nd keyframe affects only the opacity, while other animation groups (Pan, Zoom, Rotate, etc.) are disabled (unticked). The ability to selectively disable (untick) animation group(s) allows for the insertion of intermediate keyframes where other animations remain unaffected while other properties, such as opacity - can be modified. Here is an example: Quick Slide V2.pteeff

Thanks. It is fun creating new transitions and styles. Tom

That's great, jkb, thanks. I was asking about the option to select all tracks because I thought that was how it was supposed to work. Using the shift key worked for moving all or part of them.

If you need to move all of the sound clips together on a Track then Hold Shift & drag them left or right. If say the first few are ok & you just need to move later ones, then just click on the Clip you wish to start from & again hold Shift & Drag. An Alternative is to double click on a clip, which will open up Project Options/Audio & you can then adjust the timings in there. To make sure in future that clips don't move away from a Slide then Link the Sound Clip to a Slide. Click the Slide, then Right Click the Clip & Select Link Audio to Slide # You can also Lock a Track so that it can't be moved. You can't select all tracks at once. Jill

Hello, good morning. I have several audio tracks on the timeline, and I’ve had a problem with the audio—it’s shifted, so the keyframes I’ve set on the audio tracks are no longer in their correct positions. I don’t know what caused this, because I haven’t added any slides or changed the slide duration that would cause this misalignment. Since the audio tracks are joined at different points, I couldn’t select a single track and move it; I think it would be helpful to be able to select all the audio tracks and move them all together. I’m not sure if this is possible; I’ve tried several methods using the keyboard and mouse, but I can’t seem to select all the tracks—or sections of a track on the same timeline. When I press Ctrl+A, it selects all the slides, but not the audio. Is there a way to select all the audio tracks that are placed on one of the timelines? If it’s not possible, then here’s my request: to have this option included in a future update. Thank you.

Hi! A bit of confetti is always a nice touch. Here is a style available in two formats, for 16:9 and 9:16 projects. https://www.mediafire.com/file/la51jrl1avh3knp/Style_Confetti_Explosion.rar/file

Add ability to read Jpeg XL (.jxl)
tom95521 replied to tom95521's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
Interesting. So many file formats available now. I use a Pixel 10 Pro and can shoot Jpeg+RAW. I can not create bracketed exposures for HDR using Google Camera. I must use 3rd party app but no 50 Mp sensor data due to API restriction (still testing MotionCam Pro). Instead a dedicated camera is required.
