Just looked at this - it kind of does the opposite of what I need it changes the slide style but not the transition. What I need to do is do a mass change of the transitions without changing the slide style or the timing of the transition.

That's what I've been doing - but it is a real pain when you have 100 slides and discover that 25% of them scattered through out the show have the wrong transition, because unless you are playing the show you can't see what the transition is. What I need to do is just select them all and set all to the same transition, without ruining the timing. The problem appears to be that the styles I created - some of them appear to have odd transitions in - I have no idea how, nor can I work out how to change the transition that's associated with a style. But thanks for the reply.

That was my first guess too. It is definitely off. The odd thing is if I apply the slide style by itself, it has the correct duration and transition length, but apply it as part of a theme it gets it wrong. If it was consistent between the two I wouldn't mind, but half the time I'm applying my style individually and half the time via a theme which means 50% of the time I have to go back and change the slide duration. It's VERY frustrating.

Thanks for the reply - I have watched several of his tutorials (first place I went!) but they don't really cover these very specific that I am having. I see a few others have replied and I'll work through their suggestions. Thanks.

Hi, Sorry, I missed this topic earlier. If you selected SEVERAL different slides and want to apply a slide style (which requires 1 image) WITHOUT changing the slide order, you need to check the "Keep slide order" option in the Slide Styles window before applying the style. Also I recommend you apply slide styles in the mode of Slide List (not in the Timeline mode). I recommend for a new slide style (or theme) start a new project where you only have one or a few slides for that style. Delete any unused slides to avoid unexpected behavior with slide durations. If the planned style has 1 images (1 slide), keep only 1 slide in this special project. P.S. Additionally, try Create/Apple Quick Style functions (in the main menu > Slide menu). It works within current session of PTE AV Studio and this function never changes slide duration or transition, it applies only slide animations with objects.

I assume this is because you are using Full Slide Duration. This takes the Time of Slide 1 + the Transition Duration of Slide 2. I always turn this Off as it can get very confusing, especially if you move a Slide's position or change a duration. I never use Slide Styles so can't answer this, sorry. I always do everything manually using O&A If the same thing happens on every Slide it can become very repetitive & boring to watch. If you select multiple Slides & change the Transition type it will also Change the Transition Timing to be the same on all. You will have to change each one individually. Dissolve is the default Transition unless you have changed it. Hope this helps. PTE is a great program & is very powerful. |I hope you continue to enjoy using it. Jill

I don't have a specific answer but there are a bunch of tutorials by Barry Beckham that helped me learn more and just playing around and trying things was also useful. The program is not all that intuitive but once you get the hang of things it is very powerful. Have created a number of travelogue-type videos that have a few hundred images and videos and learn more each time I use the program. I am sure someone will have a specific answer for your question soon.

Anyone? It's been 2.5 months and no help. Please can someone assist. Also - I've got a slide show where all the transitions are different lengths (to sync with soundtrack) but I need to change which transition is applied (need to change them all to disolve) when I select all the slides and change the transition effect it changes the timing of the transition to be the same on each slide. I really like this product but these three things are causing me lots of problems.

Thanks Jim and I agree. In this instance, I felt the portrait view showed the water fall area better as the landscape view did not show the grandeur of the falls nor the majesty of the tall trees that had recovered after almost 50 years. I did frame and horizontal but the 16 x 10 portrait on a mobile for me was more impressive. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks Jill I did not really want to trouble you again. I had to change the settings to record mpeg4. I had all the EXE's on a stick but just could not get it to record from the stick and do the conversion.

Mike, When I installed OBS on my Win 10 laptop it set itself up without any problems. You need to set it to have Record as the primary function & choose a Folder for the recordings to go into. Then it just a case of setting it off recording & starting the PTE exe. Jill

Having switched from Window to Apple Mac I realise that my EXE files will not play so I need to convert them if this is possible. I have been referred to OBS studio and have tried to download the exe files on my windows lap top (v10) into OBS on the old windows LapTop. I must admit I find this a little confusing. Is there an alternative or an idiots guide ?

I agree with Jim, watching images in landscape format on a TV or computer screen makes for a more pleasant viewer experience. Thanks for showing, Bert

Protestor Falls The Nightcap National Park is a national park situated within the Nightcap Range in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Australia. The 8,080-hectare (20,000-acre) park was created in April 1983 and is situated 35 kilometres (22 miles) north of Lismore. The park was established following campaigns and blockades against logging at Terania Creek, Grier's Scrub and Mount Nardi between 1979 and 1982. Protestor Falls is on Bat Cave Creek which runs into Terania Creek and where the protestors camped nearby. The national park is classed by the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas as Category II and is part of the Shield Volcano Group of the World Heritage Site Gondwana Rainforests of Australia inscribed in 1986 and added to the Australian National Heritage List in 2007. Typical candidates for producing AV-Shows and offering speaker support are Wings X, and m.objects. Speaker support includes preview of images and notes for the speaker, and asynchronous audio that can be played during sections with manual control.

I think PowerPoint has this feature.
