Ok, we will not show this warning if slideshow (in EXE mode) can't find EXE file. But in Preview mode this warning can be shown. More simple making of menu Also if you wish we can try make possible command "Run Slideshow with Return" to go automatically back to menu without additional adjustements in second slideshow.

Jean-Pierre, H.264 is a complex video format. Difficult to say how it works inside. Ralph, 1) We'll try to get "Run Slideshow" work correctly in Preview mode (especially when EXE is not created yet). 2) And we just improved algorithm of searching of EXE files in various cases. Xaver, That's right. I have added only one exception - if another object has a keyframe at 00:07.943 you can insert keyframe for the first object at same time position (without jumping to nearest key place). We think it would be too slow for realtime decrypting.

In fact "Run slideshow" works like "open project" function. It opens next slideshow keeping current initialized screen mode, and slideshow's engine. (Of course, if another slideshow has windowed/fullscreen mode, enabled/disabled hardware acceleration, slideshow's engine automatically will re-initialize display mode.) So I highly recommend use this new feature: - It guarantees flawless start of new slideshow, especially under Windows Vista; - It saves video memory and CPU (one slideshow in memory) = smooth playback, no conflict between two slideshows for one computer resources.

Ian, Den, It will work in the next Beta 9. Say we have Menu.pte and Slideshow.pte projects. In Slideshow.pte go to Project options | "More" tab and choose "Run slideshow" command, type "Menu.exe" . And important thing - choose "Run on any exit (including pressing of Esc key)" option.

"Run Slideshow" command in version 5.6 Since version 5.6 Beta 8 we have added a new command "Run Slideshow". It starts another slideshow from current one. We highly recommend to use this command instead of "Run application" if you start slideshow. Purpose: - Run another slideshow; - Play a series of slideshows; - Creating menu slideshow to run other slideshows. How to create menu slideshow: Menu slideshow should has a slide with an object "Run slideshow". We just tested with MainConcept H.264 encoder. If MP4 file has been created with "B-Frames" option, Sony Vegas 8 doesn't accept this video file. Otherwise when this option turned off created file can be imported without problem. So it seems that Sony Vegas 8 doesn't fully support H.264 video format. B-Frames is a key improvement in H.264 which greatly reduces file size with same quality.

Mary, Please send me full source files of this project which causes error message as on attached screenshots. (via Main menu | File | "Create backup in ZIP" function). You can use Mediafire.com to upload ZIP file.

The only important thing, for the new "Run slideshow" command all EXE files should be created in same version of PicturesToExe (for example: 5.6) because they will play as one large slideshow.

Umberto, Please wait for next beta versions. This is not ready in current Beta. We almost reworked this mechanism and running of external slideshow EXE will work very well even without need create windowed menu presentation. We'll add special command "Run slideshow" where you point EXE file of external slideshow and several slideshows will work as one large virtual slideshow without re-initialization of the screen and no flashing of desktop.

Ray, We discussed this problem and probably the problem in Sony Vegas 8. The key feature of H.264 video so called "B frames" which gives better quality at same bitrate. Blu-Ray profile should support MP4 video with B-Frames. But it seems that Sony Vegas 8 has not this support. But please couldn't you tell for what you use Sony Vegas? As I know this program re-encode H.264 video file and you loss quality. Probably better use AVI file for your purpose?

Ray, I'm guessing you tried make AVCHD or Blu-Ray disc from MP4 video files? Current presets intended for computer playback only and we didn't test it for Blu-Ray/AVCHD. I'll think how to solve this situation. Probably we will add new special option "Blu-Ray compliance". Blu-Ray preset has strict parameters but in current preset we reached better quality on low bitrate video.
