  1. Hi Brian With all due respect I cannot find the "English" flag on this site "If the English page doesnt open hit the English Flag on the Site. Regards Mike Mersea Island, England PS you might like to check out my user name and its origin.
  2. Hi Barry Welcome to PTE. As a quick first comment I would say excellent photography and nice to see true verticals, well done. At the moment there is a discussion going on about transitions fro horizontal to vertical shots in a show, some agree, most dont but yours was an effective attempt which would have been stronger if the fade in had been 2 verticals which then faded in and out. Likewsie with the final transition back to horizontal. Also I found the music change a bit jarring and did not quite match up with the images. Welcome show which we be kept, hope to see more. 3. Personaly I would put create exe first, followed by screen saver next then the next 2 sections as is, in the order they exist. Reason one as others have mentioned "create exe" is the best quality, but it also logically flows, the first 2 options are directly concerned with the immediate computer, the next 4 are extra to the computer and can be on your or other peoples tv's etc and the final 2 are totally remote, ie via the the interent. So the flow is perfect from the immediate EXEcellent quality going through a different quality to the periphery Mike Mersea Island
  4. Lin Your analysis is quiet right. This product was developed out of a BBC Microcomputer program over 20 years ago. With the demise of the BBC computer the company moved onto the PC scene and XARA was their first product and as been known as a very fast programme ever since. They first developed it for the Acorn Archimedes as a XARA named programme and on that machine it ran faster Than Corel did on a fast PC, fast for then that is! As you state you can do terrific text effects in seconds, I too would recommend it, in fact my first show on Beechbrook, "Fields of Fire" was titled using ZARA Mike L Davies Mersea Island
  5. Would Help if I said its available on BeechBrook. Thanks Bill
  6. New show totally different to my normal shows. As with all shows, comments most welcome Lloegyr Mike Mersea Island
  7. This bit got missed off the last bit. I check Beechbrook every morning and the first thing I do is check new shows and download and view. It was not long into 'feedin the beef...' when I thought hey I know that guy! I decided it was none other than Lumenlux. Sure enough when I susequently read the postings my feelings were confirmed. Nice tranquil show that simply reflects good old life. Regards Mike Mersea Island
  8. Hi Ken Many thanks for your kind offer if you could send them to MikeDsea@aol.com it would be most appreciated. Many thanks Mike
  9. Hi all, after reading the above I thought what a good tool. But I have been trying all morning to download it from the site but does not work, it takes forever then cancells. Can any one tell me if there is something else to do? Mike Mersea Island, England
  10. sorry about font size, not use to this new layout yet Mike Mersea Island
  11. Hi Lin Just did download no problem, 234KB/sec consistent, so just over 2 mins. Not bad for a small island off the coast of England, the most easterly inhabited one in Britain. Mike L Davies Mersea Island England sorry about that all.
  12. Sorry about that miss posting. What Ron says is correct, "what you hear" is tied in with the sound card with creative cards Mike Mersea Island England
  13. Actually for over 25 years I have been using times that fit with the music, with the images and with the technology, whether it was a mechanical fader controlled by a brake cable, a multi projector setup controlled by clear light dissolve equipment or indeed PTE. Thats what I though AV shows were about! Seems to be too much heavy technical talk about at the moment. One of my shows that was on Beechbrook 3 years ago that lasted 16m 23 secs was timed to precision when PTE did not have the facilities that it now as, (as Igor will confirm I did first suggest that the timeline should be able to be zoomed in on, and that helped a lot) and it still works perfectly to the 20 millisec's on 4 crucial points 15 mins 5 secs into the show, not to mention the other critical points throughout the entire presentation. It always strikes me that if you want to achieve a result you will always find a way to do so. I find the tools that I have worked with have never let me down if I take the time to learn how to use them. Regards Mike Mersea Island England
  14. Thanks Michel That was quick, I just found my original key from years ago, but still not sure what to do yet as the entire system seems bad, search will not even work and other things from desktop. Many thanks I will keep trying. I am worried about losing so much, just glad that I know it is going wrong Michael Mersea Island England
  15. Just a quick one, my system is failing and I am trying to keep as much information as possible before I do a re-install of the boot disc and OS. I cant remember where my key number is for PTE, can anyone give me a quick clue, so I dont cause too many problems for people? Mike Mersea Island England
  16. A quick and easy sort of way would be to use the vertical push available in PTE and vary the time of the push and the gap between slides. You can find lots of examples in the panorama links. In theory it will be just like a vertical panorama. You can prepare your text slides in Photoshop or whatever takes your fancy and save as normal JPG's. Obviously you will have to be consistent with your spacing to achive a smooth effect. With a bit of hard work you could achieve a 'Star Wars' opening title Mike Mersea Island, England
  17. Sorry Shawn 200Kb I meant Mike Mersea Island England
  18. Hi Shawn Custom Synch 1 MP3 Keep Images sizes to a max of 200Mb (makes a big difference and quality is excellent) Mike Mersea Island England
  19. Hi Ron I just purchsed 4 days ago a ACER PD113 from DABS for £468 ($750) plus delivery. I am still testing (playing!) with it. I noted all the points that were said about projectors in a prior thread and I am computer savvy so I know what one should really get but there is no way I could justify large amounts of money so price was my guiding factor. However the Acer I find is ideal for me, even though its native resolution is only 800*600, it compresses 1024*768 for projection but the results are excellrnt for me. I have it about 3.5 metres from the wall (behind it are 3 kodak Carousel 35mm projectors, the picture size is just under 2 metres and I can change pictures type and sizes. I have been working through members shows from Beechbrook and I am really pleased, the Masia show from last week is really stunning on the large screen. Also I have seen my own Fields of Fire projected in digital form and it still makes me feel lkie it did 20 years on first showing with the Carousels. It has a 1.2 zoom lens, 1600 lumens and an economy mode which gives 3000 hours life, by which time the prices of better projectors will have come down and it will not be worth while to buy a new lamp, so this is an experiment to see the quality and the pleasure of large screen viewing at a moderate cost. The only really bad point is that it does not have a pass through loop so you can use both PC and projector together. If you have 2 monitor outputs on your graphics card this is no problem, alternatively one can gry SGA splitters that no not degrade the signal for £25. Just a quick guide for you Ron. 20. To Jim Was that the show with the bee polinating flowers, if so its an excellent intro to animation. Mike Mersea Island England
  21. Also I did a show which was on Beechbrook long, long ago called Carousel, which was in 2 versions English and French and was a show of a carousel, actually in Berlin to the music of Jacques Brel and did indeed fully emulate the circular quick movement of a carousel via animation. Mike Mersea Island England
  22. re Show Jeu de taquin Excellent idea, such fun. I like it Well done Mike Mersea Island England
  23. Congratulations This is a wonderful show. A simple idea carried off with panash and style. In the first place all the the individual photographs are very strong on there own and well taken. Secondly the use of black and white throughtout accentuates the theme, not marred by going into colour now and then. In the third instance the intellectual input is great, especially the humour at the end. This was a real pleasure THANK YOU Mike Mersea Island England
  24. Hi Kurt I have just picked up this thread and the first thing I notice is that if your Autorun file really is like the below which is direct from one of your messages then you better change the icon line. This appears to being calling the exe file twice, which it cant. Nothing to do with the out of time thing which does sound like its set in PTE, but you have to eliminate all possibilities Mike Mersea Island
